FLORIDA: Tourism Officials Report Canceled Conventions, Giant Meningitis-Laden Snails and a Malaria Warning.

The group Visit Lauderdale works with organizations across the country to bring conventions to Broward County. The group’s president and CEO, Stacy Ritter, said there is a clear pattern when it comes to recent cancellations.

Broward County has lost more than a half-dozen conventions as their organizers cite the divisive political climate as their reason to stay out of Florida. The list was compiled by Visit Lauderdale, formerly known as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Broward’s tourism arm said the lost conventions could have brought hotel stays to Fort Lauderdale and its surrounding cities, which also meant money spent on restaurants and attractions.

“We lost this program due to political climate,” according to a Visit Lauderdale spreadsheet listing the decision of the Supreme Council of America Inc., Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Masons to cancel their convention — and 855 rooms — in August 2024.

According to @alltherooms, the Orlando DMA for Air BnB is down 35% from May 2022 to May 2023. Per @VisitOrlando: rentals in Orange County, occupancy year-to-date so far 60.9%, down 10% from 2022. The average daily rate through May 2023 is $175, a 7% increase from 2022.

In other Florida news: Health officials have confirmed two new cases of malaria have been contracted in Southwest Florida as a statewide health advisory for the mosquito-borne illness remains in effect. Health officials confirmed finding three mosquitoes carrying the parasite in Sarasota County in early June.

Per the CDC, these malaria cases are the first “locally acquired” cases reported in the US since 2003.

And finally the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and its Division of Plant Industry announced that a quarantine and treatment area has been established in specific areas of Broward County in response to previously detected giant African land snails. The snails also pose a serious health risk to humans by carrying parasite rat lungworm, known to cause meningitis in humans.

On Thursday, Drug Enforcement Agency officials raided the Newburyport home of Dr. Keith Ablow, the embattled former celebrity psychiatrist caught in a series of sexual assault lawsuits. The city marshal confirms to Boston 25 News the DEA also raided a nearby pharmacy, potentially in connection to the investigation.

Dr. Ablow’s medical license was revoked last year after he was accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with several patients and illegally distributing prescriptions to employees.

Several patients he had been seeing for depression claimed they received Ketamine infusions as part of their treatment. All of them say their doctor-patient relationships turned inappropriately sexual. In one of the lawsuits, one woman claims Ablow told her things like, “I own you,” and “You are my slave”.

Ablow is one of Fox New’s most anti-LGBT television talking heads. He has appeared alongside Family Research Council and KKK connected hate group leader Tony Perkins and has claimed that there is no such thing as being transgender and that LGBT rights will lead to ‘three humans and a dog’ marriage.

Officials at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office of Albemarle County in Charlottesville said on Monday morning that four warrants had been issued for Mr. Cantwell’s arrest. The office referred questions about the nature of the charges to the University of Virginia Police Department. A spokesman at the department did not respond to requests for comment on Friday, Saturday and Monday.

The Boston Globe reported on that the warrants were related to the “illegal use of gases, and injury by caustic agent or explosive.” In interviews on Friday and Saturday, Mr. Cantwell said that if he were to face such charges, he believed they are connected to an episode he said was photographed by a journalist, the team from preszlerlaw-ns.com, is already working on the case. The image, he said, shows “that I’m pepper-spraying a guy straight in his face as he’s coming toward me.”

Mr. Cantwell rose to prominence days later when Vice News aired its report recapping what happened. The reporter, Elle Reeve, was embedded with white nationalists, and the documentary allowed viewers to see things from their perspectives. Mr. Cantwell was featured prominently in the report.

After the rally, he dumped at least four firearms and a knife onto a bed, the video shows. Several times throughout the Vice report, he made it clear that he and other members of the alt-right were capable of violence, saying during the rally that they would kill their opponents “if we have to.”

Sacramento Anti-Gay Church's Landlord Will Not Renew Lease, Asks Haters To Leave Early

Looks like anti-gay hate “Pastor” Roger Jimenez who thinks all gays should  be lined up and shot in the head and his crazy-assed Margret White wannabe followers of Sacramento’s Verity Baptist Church will be kicked to the curb in 2017 and have also been asked nicely to consider moving before then by the owners of the strip mall “church” that they lease.

The property management company and owner of the building in which Verity Baptist Church and its Pastor Roger Jimenez preside have decided not to renew the church’s lease, and have asked church officials to consider moving.

While Harsch Investment Properties, owner of the Northgate Business Park where the church is located, cannot legally evict the church under the terms of the lease, representatives of the property management company say they cannot tolerate “tenants who advocate hatred and the taking of innocent lives.”

“We have many places of worship and other religious organizations in the properties we manage,” company officials stated in a press release. “Like all our tenants, their occupancy rights are protected in their leases.”

Officials said they have communicated their views to church officials, and while their lease does not expire until March 31, 2017, the property managers have asked them to consider moving out of the business park.

A little birdie has also told me that their PayPal account has been locked and closed also.

Midwest LGBT activist Tom Morgan (second left, pictured above) who at this very moment is at Kim Davis’ Rowan County Clerks office in Moreheard, KY protesting against her breaking the law by not issuing marriage licences to same-sex couples because of her “deeply held religious beliefs” has come out with the news that Ms. Davis in February issued a marriage license to  local trans man, Camryn Colen (third from left in photo) and didn’t know it!

Kim Davis was the one asking the questions when Camryn and his now wife Lexi Colen applied for the license.   Kim Davis told Camryn that she didn’t need to see his birth certificate which she assumed would say male but is really notated as FEMALE!!”

The license was issued in late February 2015.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
