Becker appeared on CNN yesterday to discuss Johnny Weir and why he remains silent on Russia’s anti-LGBT human rights abuses while in Sochi, and how in doing so he’s actually enabling Putin’s “gay propaganda” ban

Becker appeared  along with panelists Nicholas Benton (whoever the hell he is)  and Don Lemon (who becomes less attractive the more he opens his mouth) with Benton disagreeing claiming that his tacky outfits were in itself a strong statement against Putin and Lemon calling Wier “fabulous” and talking about the pressure that this subject puts Weir and Olympic athletes under while simultaneously slamming Wier by saying that no one likes a “gay minstrel show”

I would have competed there because my whole life has been about going to the Olympics. Being gay isn’t something that I chose, being gay is something I was born into. But being an Olympic athlete was something that I chose and something I worked hard for and I’ll see it to any necessary end. The entire Olympic team is not made up of LGBT people. It’s people who’ve sacrificed their livelihoods, it’s people who’ve sacrificed their parents’ finances and health and sometimes even marriages to get that one chance at glory. *  Tom Cruise recently flagged Zac Efron down in the lobby of CAA. and used a creepy troll like pick-up line.  “You ride motorcycles?” Cruise asked? (Why didn’t he just ask if he liked Gladiator movies?) Cruise then invited him out to his house, taught him how a motorcycle engine works, showed him the hangar with his dozens of pristine bikes—including the Triumphs he rode in the Mission: Impossible movies. *  Torchwood’s creator Russell T Davies sat down and discussed some details for the fourth season of Torchwood that will be titled “Torchwood:  The New World”.  The events of Torchwood: TNW take place two years after the grim conclusion of of Children of Earth including the death of Captain Jack’s lover Ianto Jones. Joining Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) in TNW will be an American CIA agent named Rex Matheson (the part is not yet cast). Davies says that Matheson is an “entrance into the new story,” a way for new viewers to learn about Torchwood along with the character. Davies explains that given the fact that Torchwood was destroyed and the team broken up after CoE, Matheson will have no idea what Torchwood is since “It’s like something that ceased to exist a long time ago that’s spoken of only in whispers. VERY bad indeed.

I have to say I admire Weir’s artistic talent.  But the whoring of his sexuality not so much.\

In a recent interview in OUT magaize Wier states:

“I’ve always been comfortable with who I am. When it comes to my sexuality, I just finished the chapter in my book [to be released in January] about my sexuality and my idea of it. I haven’t discussed it—not because I’m ashamed of anything you’ll read about when my book comes out—I just don’t want to put it out there in a way where someone can twist my words. While I don’t believe in masculinity and femininity, I don’t believe in a purely gay person or a purely straight person. I have a very clear opinion of my own sexuality. I’m not saying anything about my sexuality because I want it to be out there in my own words.”

Johnny first and foremost we all know that you are a BIG OLE HOMO. End of story and not worth popping 20 bucks on your book to read. In the beginning it was actually endearing that you stood up against the role model of masculinity only for boys but now that the months have worn on and the only way that you will discuss your sexuality is by whoring it through your “upcoming book” you have basically become a grating, annoying famewhore, and a caricature and are slowly becoming the Richard Simmon’s of the twenty-first century.

Oh, and will you and Evan Lysacek get a room and fuck already and be done with it.  Just be sure to videotape it because there’s a big market for “lesbian” videos and that would just complete your fame whoring ways.

*  So who on the Supreme Court today was the  most vocal Supreme Court objector to keeping private the names of those who signed petitions in Referendum 71?  Justice Antonin Scalia!

When he was finished, the strong impression was that it might be exceedingly hard to gather a five-vote majority to establish such a right, even though the plea got the fervent support of Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr.
Declaring that the rough-and-tumble of democracy is not for the faint-hearted, what Scalia referred to as the “touchy, feely” sensitivity of some political activists, the Justice said “you can’t run a democracy” with political activity behind a First Amendment shroud. “You are asking us to enter into a whole new field,” Scalia told James Bopp Jr., the lawyer for Washington State signers of an anti-gay rights petition. Politics, the Justice went on, “takes a certain amount of civic courage. The First Amendment does not protect you from civic discourse — or even from nasty phone calls.”

Hmmmm. Is Evan a slore? Before we answer that, let’s brush up on the official meaning of “slore” from the most accurate dictionary in the world: Urban Dictionary. According to UD, this one of the definitions of “slore”:

In early March Johnny Weir was making headlines after he was rejected from the “Stars on Ice” tour for not being “family friendly” enough (GAY).

Wel arch-nemisis and “alleged” downlow homo Evan Lysacek has slammed Weir for “whining” saying he wasn’t chosen because he’s just not good enough:

“‘Stars on Ice’ is really selective of who they hire and they only hire the best of the best to skate. It would’ve been hard of them to justify hiring him, and I think he was really upset because he wanted the financial benefit of the tour. A lot of us in the skating world were really disappointed in the way he reacted, basically whining that he wasn’t chosen.”

Outsports responds:  “No Evan, Johnny wasn’t whining. He was reacting to perceived homophobia. But I guess you wouldn’t know anything about that, since you’re straight as an arrow. At least Evan left this little gem for us in the interview… “‘Last question: Are you seeing anyone? I’m single. The reason, well…(laughs)…I’m limited to who I can see. I’m dating in L.A., but I just haven’t found the right girl.'”  (Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight)

Let’s be honest. Figure skating is the gayest competitive sport around, (Just ask Dick Buttons about The Rambles in Central Park)  but apparently Johnny Weir is too gay!

GLAAD reported yesterday that a source told them that the Stars on Ice Tour, whose sponsors (Smuckers and IMG Entertainment) didn’t want homogay Weir part of their spandex and sequin machismo fest. Because he’s “not family friendly.”

And today Johnny Weir himself has responded to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush about reports that the ‘Stars on Ice Tour’ is refusing to invite him:

“It’s for real. All because I am not family friendly enough. I understand I am a little outrageous but I wish I could perform for the fans…Maybe right now, just artistically and creatively, I’d love to have my own show, with musical acts, like maybe getting Lady Gaga! I don’t like to think there are any boundaries. Anytime you get men in glitter it’s flamboyant!”


As GLAAD notes in a post that this website actually found worth repeating, “To say that Weir is ‘not family friendly’ would be a clear jab at his perceived sexual orientation. (No shit!) Weir is extremely involved with his family. He is putting his younger brother through college, and supports the family financially because his father’s disability prohibits him from working. Weir’s dedication to his family can be clearly documented in the Sundance series, Be Good Johnny Weir, which follows him and his family and friends through his life and career as a championship skater.”

Moreover, Weir is arguably the best athletic role model around right this minute.  Weir is a humble athlete, an eloquent public speaker, and an absolutely fantastic diplomat to young people. Not only is his skating talent unquestionable, but Weir is the roll-with-the-punches, speak-out-against-wrongs, work-your-hardest, and be-proud-of-yourself type that we should only hope fellow athletes aspire to be.

Weir isn’t the guy who kids should be hidden from. He is the guy families we be lucky to rally around.

Oh and if Scott Hamilton, the married heterosexual figure skater, who is the producer and co-founder of Stars On Ice. is involved in this crap, we’ll have his head.
