Focus on the Family Hate Group Founder James Dobson: If Martin Luther King Was Alive Today He’d Oppose The Equality Act

James Dobson, founder of one of America’s so-called “christian” anti-LGBT hate groups Focus on the Family wrote an op-ed on behalf of his James Dobson Family Institute where he condemned the Equality Act which would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to give federal protections to LGBT american citizens calling it “treacherous”, “radical”, and claiming that the late great Martin Luther King Jr. would be opposed to it.

Wrote Dobson:

“Make no mistake – the so-called Equality Act is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to finish off religious liberty in America once and for all, which ought to be plainly obvious based upon a cursory reading of the First Amendment.

The proposal, H.R. 5 and S. 788, would provide special protections for the LGBT community throughout American society. It would state that religious beliefs are not a defense in a dispute between gay rights and constitutionally protected religious rights.

I wish I could say I was shocked to see the speed with which Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have brought to committee the sweet sounding but entirely treacherous Equality Act.

This decision demonstrates a frightening willingness by those on the left to advance a radical social agenda at a time when our nation already faces so many other divisive challenges.

Simply put, by creating a protected class of citizens out of the LGBT community, this bill places Christians who believe in traditional marriage at grave legal and civil jeopardy.

While no evangelical Christian would ever support hate or violence of any kind against an LGBT individual – or any other person for that matter – to modify the 1964 Civil Rights Act with this wrong-headed bill would not only be legally fraught, it would also put moral equivalence to the unprecedented, centuries-long struggle of countless millions of African Americans to gain freedom from slavery and the persistent, systematic oppression that followed.

Dobson said that whereas “the Civil Rights movement of the 60s was born out of deep faith and in congruence with God’s Word, this bill tramples both underfoot.

In fact, I believe that if Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today, we would be standing together in opposition to the Equality Act. We must refrain from the dangerous tendency to divide America into smaller and smaller sub-groups defined first and foremost by our grievances. We are one nation, under God, and we are already blessed with a Constitution and First Amendment that protects every American without criminalizing our most sincerely held religious beliefs.”

What Dobson fails to mention that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits employment discrimination based on color, race, … employment discrimination on the basis of an individual’s religion, so it is itself a special protected class of citizen.

As for Martin Luther King, Jr., he was not an advocate of LGBT rights, nor was he an enemy, The truth is no one really knows because MLK never publicly talked about the subject. But what we do know is that his right-hand man Bayard Rustin was an openly gay man and that his widow, Coretta Scott King has has been an outspoken supporter of LGBT rights.

Hate Groups Claim Victory, Praise Evan Lowe For Shelving Anti-Gay Conversion Therapy

Hate Groups Claim Victory, Praise Evan Low For Shelving Anti-Gay Conversion Therapy

Last week we reported about California Assemblyman Evan Low who at the last minute shelved his bill AB 2943 that would outlaw so-called “gay conversion therapy” as a fraudulent practice despite having more than enough vote to pass it after talking “evangelical leaders”. (Lowe is up for re-election in November)

Many extremist “Christians” and anti-LGBT hate groups are claiming this as a victory.

James Dobson – the founder of the first and most vehemently anti-LGBT hate group Focus on the Family – was quick to claim victory after the announcement and praised extremist religious leaders for standing up against the “pro-LGBT legislation”.

I am very grateful to all of the pastors, counselors and our families in California and across the country who spoke up and made their voices heard. It is incumbent on us to make sure we still have the right to make the best mental-health decisions for our children, our loved ones, and ourselves and that parental rights are protected now and for generations to come.”

California Family Council President Jonathan Keller, were also “grateful: for all the dialogue over the bill that led to its eventual “demise.”

“We are inexpressibly grateful to Assembly member Low for meeting personally with faith leaders over the last several months and sincerely listening to our concerns,” Keller expressed, according to ChurchLeaders.com. “AB 2943 would have tragically limited our ability to offer compassionate support related to sexual orientation and gender identity – and even to preach Jesus’ message of unconditional love and life transformation.”

“Low – who is openly gay said Friday that – after meeting this summer with the faith leaders – he would instead try again next year with a new version of the proposal [that] they could feel more comfortable with.

Coward.

Anti-LGBT Hate Group Focus on the Family Declares Itself A Church With IRS To Evade Taxes and Disclosures

Via  Right Wing Watch:

Focus on the Family, the behemoth Religious Right organization founded by James Dobson, has declared itself to be a church, thereby avoiding a requirement that it file public tax documents, according to IRS records and a document available on the organization’s website.

Focus on the Family filed as a non-church 501(c)(3) nonprofit as recently as the 2014 fiscal year, submitting to the IRS a publicly available Form 990 as most tax-exempt nonprofits are required to do. But when the group posted a Form 990 for the 2015 fiscal year on its website—dated October 26, 2017, and reporting a massive budget of $89 million—it was emblazoned with the message “Not required to file and not filed with the IRS. Not for public inspection.”

Gail Harmon, an attorney who has advised nonprofits on tax law for more than 30 years, said that she had never before seen a nonprofit organization declare itself a church. “I just found it shocking,” she said. “There’s nothing about them that meets the traditional definition of what a church is,” she said. “They don’t have a congregation, they don’t have the rites of various parts of a person’s life. There’s a whole system for what a church is.”

There is clear biblical precedent for this. It’s just like the story about how Jesus helped the money changers reincorporate into pass-through entitles in order to avoid double taxation from the Romans, while maintaining their right to engage in nakedly partisan advocacy and anti-LGBT hate.

Anti-Gay Grifter “Reverend” Franklin Graham: Stay Away From Satanic Gay People – Audio

Frankin Graham

“We have allowed the Enemy to come into our churches. I was talking to some Christians and they were talking about how they invited these gay children to come into their home and to come into the church and that they were wanting to influence them. And I thought to myself, they’re not going to influence those kids; those kids are going to influence those parent’s children. What happens is we think we can fight by smiling and being real nice and loving.

“We have to understand who the Enemy is and what he wants to do. He wants to devour our homes. He wants to devour this nation and we have to be so careful who we let our kids hang out with. We have to be so careful who we let into the churches. You have immoral people who get into the churches and it begins to effect the others in the church and it is dangerous.” – Franklin Graham, speaking at a Colorado church event organized b Focus on the Family hate group leader James Dobson.

You have immoral people who get into the churches…” Said Franklin Graham with no self-awareness whatsoever.

Focus on the Family – The Sandy Hook Massacre Was Caused Because of Abortion and Gay Marriage

“We have turned our back on God. I mean millions of people have decided that God doesn’t exist, or he’s irrelevant to me and we have killed fifty-four million babies and the institution of marriage is right on the verge of a complete redefinition.  Believe me, that is going to have consequences too. And a lot of these things are happening around us, and somebody is going to get mad at me for saying what I am about to say right now, but I am going to give you my honest opinion: I think we have turned our back on the Scripture and on God Almighty and I think he has allowed judgment to fall upon us. I think that’s what’s going on.” – Focus On The Family founder James Dobson.

Let it be duly noted that this is the SAME  hate speech, but to a different audience that the Westboro Baptist Church uses just with different wording. The WBC is great at getting the wider public’s attention while FOF prefers to fly under the radar and preach to its own.  There is no difference between the Phelps clan and any number of Christian organizations that operate under the banner of hate and persecution. It would be great if Anonymous would take these people out, too and also the FRC, AFA and all the rest but it would be even greater if we had hate speech laws in effect that made this kind of rhetoric punishable.

This most recent parade of frauds and charlatans blaming the horrific loss of life at Sandy Hook on The Wrath of God just shows how mentally unbalanced they really are and its up to us to destroy their organizations.

World Net Daily Attacks Focus On the Family For Being Too “Wimpy” On the Gays

Joseph Farah founder of Wingnut World Net Daily continued the new anti-gay infighting meme today blatantly attacking longtime anti-gay hate group Focus On The Family, saying that they helped the GOP fail because they don’t hate gays enough.

I could go on and on with reasons Christians are losing the culture. In fact, I would have to say they’ve already completely lost it. Abandoned it would be more accurate. Into this sad state of affairs comes the “refocused” Focus on the Family, a truly great Christian ministry founded by a truly great man, Dr. James Dobson. But like many great cultural institutions founded by great Christian men – Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, the New York Times, yes, even the United States of America – it lost the Christian vision and passion of the founders. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the new non-confrontational, wimpy, smiley-faced, lukewarm Focus on the Family as personified by its new leader, Jim Daly, who seems all-too eager to distance himself and the organization he now heads from the legacy of Dobson. Daly’s answer is to find common ground with people who understand they are indeed in a culture war – those, for instance, who promote same-sex marriage and advocate unrestricted abortion. We’ve got to be more “ecumenical,” to “win over friends, not make more enemies.” That’s how fast Christians lose cultural institutions”

Yes!  And the fight for the diminished wingnut funding and placing the blame continues!

This is almost as much fun as  black Pastor in Washington State Ken Hutchenson calling NOM racist.

Keep it up guys.  We’ve got the popcorn popping and we’re loving this show!

Fuck the Lions.  Throwing “Christians” to “Christians” is so much more entertaining

Apple Denies Anti-Gay Manhattan Declaration App For Second Time. Christomaniacs Shocked. SHOCKED I TELL YOU!

Apple has once again blocked Robert George’s right wing, Christomainac, anti-gay Manhattan Declartion IPhone app much to the chargin of haters and loons across the country.

George, who launched the 4,700-word Christianity pledge last year to the squeals of James Dobson and Ms. Tony “Princess Tiny Meat” Perkins was approved and then yanked last month by Apple after an outpouring of complaints from the sane.  George “edited” the app,  re-submitted it, and Apple just them down again and boy are they pissy about it.
Cue the whine from ManhattanDeclaration.org:

It is difficult to see how this is anything other than a statement of animus by a major American corporation against the beliefs of millions of Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox citizens. It is our sincere hope that Apple will draw back from this divisive and deeply offensive position. The corporation’s leaders must be made to understand that they do the country no good service in capitulating to efforts to stigmatize, marginalize or defame people on one side or the other in important moral debates.

We will be taking this to Apple’s App Review Board after they come back from the Christmas and New Year’s holiday observances they mention. If Apple is in good faith, perhaps they will be willing to submit this matter to arbitration. We will keep you informed. Until there is more to report, we will not be making further comments on this matter

Waaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa.

BUSTED! – Anti-Gay Baptist Minister George Allan Rekers Caught In Male Prostitute Scandal!

Mmmmmmm juicy!

In 1983 George Allan Rekers helped James Dobson found the Family Research Council.  He has served as “advisory roles with Congress, the White House, and the Department of Health and Human Services and testifying as a state’s witness in favor of Florida’s gay adoption ban,” and “is a board member of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality,” and “lectures worldwide, from Europe to the Middle East, on teen sexuality.”

Renker is an uber-conservative Baptist minister in Miami. He’s a raging anti-gay activist.  And he just returned from a sun-filled 10-day trip to Bermuda with his rentboy!

Miami New Times:

On April 13, the “rent boy” (whom we’ll call Lucien) arrived at Miami International Airport on Iberian Airlines Flight 6123, after a ten-day, fully subsidized trip to Europe. He was soon followed out of customs by an old man with an atavistic mustache and a desperate blond comb-over, pushing an overburdened baggage cart. That man was George Alan Rekers, of North Miami — the callboy’s client and, as it happens, one of America’s most prominent anti-gay activists. Rekers, a Baptist minister who is a leading scholar for the Christian right, left the terminal with his gay escort, looking a bit discomfited when a picture of the two was snapped with a hot-pink digital camera.

Rekers, in an interesting move, is answering a reporter’s phone calls. He says he hired the rentboy, who the Times dubbed “Lucien,” to help with his luggage, because he just had surgery and cannot lift his bags; he did manage to push his luggage cart. But he didn’t deny he met Lucien on Rentboy.com, where his profile describes his “smooth, sweet, tight ass” and “perfectly built 8 inch cock (uncut)” and notes he is “wild” and “up for anything.” Lucien, however, did confirm that’s how they met.

Rekker must think everyone hires thier help from escort sites. Need an electrician? Need a nanny? Need a piano teacher? Clearly one of the enterprising young men at Rentboy.com should be your first choice.

Sick self hating evil bastard

It’s Baaaaaaack. James Dobson To Return To The Anti-Gay Hate Industry

Homo hater and religious zealot Dr James (Douchebag) Dobson is not yet ready to give up his campaign against us gays just yet it seems.

Dobson who resigned as President of Focus on the Family late last year, (And whose psychological and therapeutic approaches are not supported by the American Psychological Association or any other major psychological or psychiatric association.) announced that he is launching a rival organization and radio show because ““the institution of the family continues to be in deplorable condition, and children are growing up in a culture that often twists and warps their young minds.”

Religion historian Randall Balmer told the Colorado Springs Gazette he thought Dobson was setting up the parallel organization because he wanted to “pass the mantle on to his son.” A divorce in 2001 reportedly ruled out Ryan from working for Focus on the Family. ) But I suppose it could also be that he misses all the publicity and extra revenue he earned promoting his hateful and dangerous books and publications.

Whatever.

IT’S BACK.
