From the about page of POTUS Shield aka Grifters United:
The prophets spoke, the leaders stood up, and the people heard … We repented, we prayed, we declared… and the Lord moved! On a single day in November He shifted the future of this nation and also inspired the Body of Christ with renewed hope! On January 20, 2017 our nation celebrates the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States.
Now God is speaking again: “Surely the Lord does nothing unless he reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” (AMOS 3:7).
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INAUGURAL CONVOCATION OF THE POTUS SHIELD.
It is our time to storm heaven for a New America, revival in our land, and to bring our country back to God! We are the redeemed of the Lord who are coming to raise up a shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit.
The Lord has summoned a prolific council of prelates and prophets to convene in Washington, D.C. one week prior to the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America. These servants of God are especially gifted to discern the times and to prophesy the Word of The Lord, even so as we seek to prepare the way for transformation, reformation, and revival in our nation.
We are called to gather in the nation’s capital and to raise up a shield of prayer and prophetic understanding, grounded in the firm foundation of the immutable Word of God, and inspired with fresh revelation by the Spirit of The Lord. These proven leaders are convening to release the Word of the Lord, and to lead this anointed assembly in powerful prayers, intercession, declarations and decrees over the White House, the Supreme Court, and Capitol Hill.
Presiding prelates and prophets include: Darrell and Belinda Scott, Frank and Lorilee Amedia, Herman Martir, Rick Joyner, Lance Wallnau, Alveda King, Lou Engle, Cindy and Mike Jacobs, Mark Gonzales, Mosey Modugba, Anwar Fazal, Jennifer LeClaire, and more to be confirmed.
CNN once again showed absolutely no journalistic integrity by hosting the anti-gay Family Research Council’s Peter Sprigg on Soledad O’Brien’s Starting Point this morning to discuss President Obama inaugural address and the agenda outlined within it. And of course it was a set up to get Sprigg to talk about the mention of “Stonewall” and “LGBT Euqality.
When O’Brien noted Obama’s vocal support for gay rights of course Sprigg didn’t agree with the president linking the gay rights movement with civil rights for African-Americans and women’s rights. “The irony is,” he contended, “homosexuals already have all the same civil rights as anyone else. But that fact that all people are created equal as individuals does not mean all sexual behavior is equal or that all personal relationships have an equal value to society at large.”
There was no mention of course of the extra protections that people of “religion” receive under the 1964 Civil Rights Act that does not include the lesbian and gay population. And of course CNN did not provide a pro-gay voice counter-point to Sprigg’s crazy accusations.
As far as CNN, MSNBC, and major news outlets are concerned this not only about accountability but also journalistic integrity. Having Peter Sprigg comment on gay issues under the “social conservative” banner is no different than having David Duke of the KKK comment on issues about race under the “republican” banner.
Joe Jervis over at Joe My God likes to point out the stupidity of Republicans, and none more than Jimmy “I couldn’t get laid if I was waving a fistful of 100 dollar bills” LaSalvia one of acting headcases of GOProud.
Today Jervis posted a screencap of a tweet made my Ms. LaSalvia disparaging Obama supporters in Washington D.C. for the inauguration.
Well whittle Jimmy was so upset that Joe Jervis did this (and others pointed out his spelling errors” that she shook her little fist and posted a response about Jervis to which Dan Savage replied laid LaSalvia out speaking the truth and making LaSalvia look more like a foolish idiot than he usually does.
LOL @JimmyLaSalvia – Bitter like Starbucks House Blend but not nearly as upscale.
Tony Perkins and his ever bitching anti-gay right-wing extremist hate group the Family Research Council is ever so pissed that exposed anti-gay “Pastor” Louis Giglio has been removed/dropped out from delivering the benediction prayer at President Obama’s upcoming send term inauguration.
“The President’s endorsement of same-sex ‘marriage’ wasn’t the culmination of the homosexual agenda–in many ways, it was just the beginning of a sweeping zero tolerance policy for any American with a biblical view of sexuality. The country is witnessing that for itself in the breaking news that the President’s inauguration no longer includes Pastor Louie Giglio, an evangelical minister who, years ago, delivered a sermon on the Christian response to homosexuality. Gay activists brought the comments to the President’s attention and demanded his removal from the ceremony. Although it’s unclear whether the White House forced him to withdraw or not, Pastor Giglio formally dropped out less than 24 hours later. In a press release, he insists that his participation and prayer ‘would be dwarfed by those seeking to make their agenda the focal point of the inauguration.
‘“What a difference four years makes! In 2009, when the Left was in an uproar about Pastor Rick Warren’s prayer, the President was quick to come to his defense. ‘We have to disagree without being disagreeable and then focus on those things we hold in common as Americans.’ Now, having revealed his true position on same-sex ‘marriage,’ the President seems determined to create even more division. If anything, this pulls back the curtain on the Left’s real agenda. And it’s not about tolerance. It’s about forced acceptance. Americans need to wake up and realize that the homosexual movement cannot be appeased–not by marriage, not by special benefits, not by anything but the sanitization of Christianity from the public square.” – Hate group and white supremacist leader Tony Perkins, via press release.
“A sweeping zero tolerance policy for any American with a biblical view of sexuality.”
Works for me.
And by the way Tony, mind your own fucking business.
Anti-gay Pastor Louis Giglio, who was somehow chosen to deliver the benediction prayer at President Obama’s upcoming send term inauguration has released a statement confirming that he will be “voluntarily” dropping out of the event.
Due to a message of mine that has surfaced from 15-20 years ago, it is likely that my participation, and the prayer I would offer, will be dwarfed by those seeking to make their agenda the focal point of the inauguration. Clearly, speaking on this issue has not been in the range of my priorities in the past fifteen years. Instead, my aim has been to call people to ultimate significance as we make much of Jesus Christ.
Neither I, nor our team, feel it best serves the core message and goals we are seeking to accomplish to be in a fight on an issue not of our choosing, thus I respectfully withdraw my acceptance of the President’s invitation. I will continue to pray regularly for the President, and urge the nation to do so. I will most certainly pray for him on Inauguration Day. Our nation is deeply divided and hurting, and more than ever need God’s grace and mercy in our time of need.
Now that Giglio has removed himself from the event President Obama’s inauguration committee has released a message explaining why Giglio was chosen in the first place and highlights its incompetence:
We were not aware of Pastor Giglio’s past comments at the time of his selection and they don’t reflect our desire to celebrate the strength and diversity of our country at this Inaugural. Pastor Giglio was asked to deliver the benediction in large part for his leadership in combating human trafficking around the world. As we now work to select someone to deliver the benediction, we will ensure their beliefs reflect this administration’s vision of inclusion and acceptance for all Americans.
Even though most news outlets are reporting that Giglio voluntarily pulled himself from the line-up Thomas Roberts (MSNBC) is reporting Giglio was pulled by the inauguration committee after becoming aware of his past anti-gay remarks.
Whichever it was good riddance to bad rubbish and as for President Obama’s inauguration committee WE ARE WATCHING YOU.
