Porno Pete’s Assless Chaps Adventure! – AFA’s Peter LaBarbera Infiltrates Dore Alley

porno pete

Well its that time of year again when Illionois’ own D Lister anti-gay leader Porno Pete LaBarbera gets to pack his assless chaps and camera and takes a paid vacation to San Francisco and cruises the attendees of the Up Your Alley Fair, (Dore Alley) the smaller version of San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair that precedes the main event by two months.

LaBarbera writes at his anti-gay propaganda website Americans for Truth About Homosexuality:

I was curious to see what out-and-proud San Francisco was like AFTER the city council passed its 2012 “public nudity ban”–which, curiously enough, exempts massive street fairs celebrating nudity and perversion. (This is San Francisco, after all.) So I ventured out to the world’s most sexually deviant city last weekend (Sunday, July 27) to cover its annual “Up Your Alley” street fair, also called “Dore Alley“–put on by the same proud perverts (er…sadomasochistic “leathermen”) that annually stage the notorious Folsom Street Fair. Organizers of the “Up Your Ally” fair call it “Folsom’s Dirty Little Brother,” which, considering Folsom’s unbridled debauchery, is quite a recommendation for boundary-defying libertines and tourist gawkers who are there for the freak show. I saw more exposed penises and butts in a few hours at the Up Your Alley fair than I’ve seen in a lifetime, or so it seemed–and that includes diaper-changes for my five kids! It got real old, real fast (and note the sartorial conformity of the proud sex rebels!). Of course, deviance begets deviance, so it makes sense that the immoral, perverse and once-taboo behavior of homosexuality would be disproportionately associated with various other sexual and gender perversions–including exhibitionism (a paraphilia). Think about it: if it’s OK to be a “proud” homosexual, why not be a proud exhibitionist? Or a proud sexual sadist? Or even a proud “slave”? Did you know that there is a special flag for “Leather Pride”? (It’s black and blue–no joke.) Moral Relativism 101 in action.

LaBarbera  who was nicknamed “Porno Pete” by Wayne Beesen of Truth Wins Out years ago because of his bizarre fascination with naughty gay magazines and his penchant to go “undercover” at leather events and photographed more naked men has been to more gay sex related events than I have and has had every one of them financed with money from anti-gay bigots.

Perhaps I should start a bogus anti-gay hate group to fund this blog and a trip to Folsom Street fair.?   It works for Ms. LaBarbera.

2,870 Athletes Attend Sochi Olympics And The Silence Is Deafening, But The Hypocrisy Is Not

Enjoy the Silence

Many athletes made clear before traveling to Sochi how unhappy they were about how the LGBT citizens of Russia are being abused, particularly with its law banning gay “propaganda.”

But now in that they are actually in Sochi, the silence is deafening from the 2,870 Olympians at their venues and especially at Friday nights opening ceremony when that same day over 60 Russian LGBT activist were arrested and some of them beaten by Russian police for standing up for their human rights

Now that they are actually in Russia many Olympians and coaches are now citing multiple reasons why they feel these Olympics are neither the place nor time – at least not early on in the 17-day games – to make a stand.

We’re all so focused on the task at hand,” said U.S. figure skater Ashley Wagner. In the United States, Wagner spoke eloquently against the Russian law. In Sochi, she still is happily and patiently answering questions on it but not bringing it up herself. She said she has also “discussed it with some athletes.”

“We have a great platform to really speak out about what we believe in, but also we’re here to compete,” she said. “I did my part as an athlete, and did enough to make myself feel good at the end of the day.”

Skating coach Brian Orser, who is gay, said: “I’ve avoided most of these questions about it. I don’t want to come across as a hypocrite but I also just want to be here for my athletes, just be here doing my job.  ” he said. “So I am kind of torn.”

Some athletes worry that taking a strong stand will draw swarms of reporters, which could break their focus.

I just don’t want to stir the waters and don’t want to comment on any side of it. Then that’s something that can turn into a distraction if you get hounded by the media,” said cross-country skier Jessica Diggins.

“So I’m keeping myself out of that.”

Then we have bromantic five-time Olympic skiing medalist Bode Miller who is competing at his fifth games and who in interview with the Associated Press while still in America before the games Miller didn’t hold back any punches when asked about Russia’s anti-gay laws saying:

‘I think it’s absolutely embarrassing that there’s countries and there’s people who are that intolerant and that ignorant,” Asking an athlete to go somewhere and compete and be a representative of a philosophy and … then tell them they can’t express their views or they can’t say what they believe, I think is pretty hypocritical or unfair.”

Now that Miller is in Russia competing his tune has changed:

“I don’t really feel like the Olympics is a place for that kind of politics,” said U.S. skier Bode Miller, competing at his fifth games. “It’s a place for sports and a place for cultures to kind of put aside their differences and compete.”

“It’s easy to get caught up in all the other stuff and forget what the Olympics is about.”

(Bode you are hot but you are definitely a hypocrite.)

And what about other countries athletes?

Well Canada our ally to the north a country which has a very progressive LGBT rights stance don’t want their athletes involved at all.

“We don’t participate in any political debates and any controversy and anything else but sport,” said Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut.

Canadian Olympians get “a lot of training” on how to answer reporters and are made aware of any trigger points, said Mike Slipchuk, who heads Canada’s figure skating team.

“They’re here to answer questions about their performance and what they’re doing here,” he said.

But on gay rights, “wars” and “everything,” he said: “We’re not here to be a spokesperson for those things.”

But there is still a chance some brave athlete might stand up and say and or do something by the time the Olympic are over according to outspoken LGBT straight ally and  Hudson Taylor, a wrestling coach at Columbia University who has traveled to Sochi to campaign.  Taylor said he knows of “a handful of athletes who are interested in speaking out.” and that once athletes are done competing, gloves could come off, especially if these are their last Olympics.

Now that’s Olympic courage and bravery.

Anti-Gay Conservatives Calls For Fox News’ Shepard Smith To Come Out of the Closet

Coming out

Cliff Kincaid, the head of the ultra right-wing anti-gay group called America’s Survival is calling upon Fox News network’s  Shepard Smith, to come out of the closet and admit he’s gay.

Last Tuesday, during a presentation on America’s Survival’s report that Fox News isn;t being “right-wing” enough,  Kincaid addressed the pink elephant in the room: namely, Shepard Smith’s annual inclusion on Out magazine’s Power List.

Now its very well known that among the gay bars on the Upper East Side of New York City and the LGBT community that Smith lives deep in the glass closet and takes Fox’s money.  But it has never been noticed by the right-wing loons.  That is until now.

I don’t know about you, but if I was listed as one of the most powerful homosexuals in the media, I would first demand a retraction and probably sue for defamation and collect a lot of money,” Kincaid said. “Shepard Smith, according to my information, has never asked that that be taken down. He’s been one of Out magazines most powerful media homosexuals for several years in a row. So look, Shep, come out of the closet,” Kincaid urged. “Come out of the closet.” (So we can burn you at the stake.)

Kincaid also works for the inaccurately right wing group named Accuracy In Media, which earlier this month published a 40,000-word report declaring that Fox News has gone pro-gay.

That report was authored by…. American for Truth About Homosexuality leather chap loving President and hair club member “Porno Pete” LaBarbera.

So..Tell Me What’s Wrong With This Marriage Equality Ad?

gay dumbasses

When I came out eight years ago, I felt that as time went on, I wanted to contribute more to the cause of equality by speaking out because as the old saying goes “if you’re not a part of the solution then you’re a part of the problem”. So I try to make an effort whenever possible, even if it’s a small donation to an LGBT organization or writing a blog about the problems and issues within our community. And I always try to encourage but not demand the same in others. I believe every voice has power, and as a result, an impact in everything we do.

Even if it’s something as simple as a retweet on twitter or liking and sharing a Facebook status, I feel like if it further advances someone else’s voice. The message becomes a little bit louder and I am more than happy to do so. Visibility is and has always been a key component to the success of our community. Any civil rights movement that has been successful in history is because they stood out and made their presence known. Social media allows us to be visible and more powerful in delivering our message of equality than ever before.

But, we need to recognize that there is a limit to how effective that can be as there is to everything else. Sometimes the message can be counter-intuitive, counterproductive, contradictory, and just plain wrong. An example of this kind of wrong is what I found when I came across this ad today by an organization called FCKH8. Today they tweeted out this image with the caption “Jesus’s reason for wanting you to support gay marriage”. When I saw this, I became livid. There are so many things wrong with this picture. But let’s break it down so you see why this is so disturbing.

The message by what I presume is an LGBT equality group for marriage equality and their message is to “Legalize Love”. Of course I support that, it’s what I talk and write about daily. The group calls on both straight and gay allies to join together to eliminate discrimination and hate. They have an array of t-shirts, hoodies, wristbands and pens to promote the cause. Hell, I even support the eye candy they use to promote their merchandise on their website. I support all of this because allies are a bridge that enables us to spread our message.

Even with the fact that many don’t support businesses or organizations like this because we don’t know where all the profit is going to, I don’t mind it. Because it gets the word out and makes us more visible in some form and what we as a community want. They even donated 25000 dollars to help promote awareness and equality in Tennessee, my home state that is still trying to pass a bill that would ban students in grade K through 8 from saying the word gay in school. So, naturally I support that as well. That is not where the issue lies here.

Now some of you may be looking at this ad right now saying “What’s wrong with it, this is in support of marriage equality” and if that’s all you see then you need to look again. Because this ad supports hate. It is saying that abortion is wrong. I don’t support hate, in any form. And this openly invites hate on a woman’s right to choose for herself and I will never, ever support such hypocritical, vulgar, and flat out asinine degradation of ANYONE and their right. You don’t “Fuck Hate” by hating on another group. Ever.

Maybe the reason that I’m so upset is because I’ve seen such a vapid attempt like this before. Because of this belief by some leaders and activists within our community that fail to see the diversity that is in this community. It’s evident when you hear comments like “I can’t be racist, I’m gay” when you most certainly can be, despite how immeasurably ignorant a conclusion this is to invoke.  These two issues don’t even mirror because they are two completely different issues. However, both should be treated with the same respect. Your status as a gay man does not eliminate your ability to be prejudice.

Some would argue that this ad shows a glaring privilege that is often overlooked and not approached for discussion by this community. Because some say that the truth is gay Caucasian men still have some privilege. It’s not so much about the right to marry but in the ability for a Caucasian male, regardless of sexuality, is still granted the ability to make a cause more visible. Don’t believe that’s true? Well this is what ads like this suggest, and why it is so important to speak out about how irresponsible an impact they have. Because this is not the kind of message we want to send.

I don’t know if it’s the inexperience of youth, an extremely tasteless joke or just willful ignorance but it needs to stop. How insensitive is it not only degrade but also condemn the rights of women by using the same tactics enacted by extreme republicans declaring kit is God’s Will to get married? Why would you ever want to place the condemnation on another group this way? By involving a prophet depicting children that are in danger to abortion and being gay saves the world that awful notion. I don’t even understand why whoever created this ad felt that this would ever be okay to publicly damn women’s rights. It is incredulously hypocritical (and quite ironic) to use religious propaganda to promote any cause.

Not to mention that there are lesbians, transgendered, and bisexual women that exists within this community as well. This ad completely disregards them and their right to choose. You are openly condemning these women when ads like this are a representation of this movement. They are facing the same struggles for equality that we are fighting for every day. This goes to show what goes wrong in a civil rights movement when someone becomes so intent on what they want for their community and for themselves that they don’t think about how it will affect others. You know who this ad speaks to? Gay, Caucasian Males. It does not reflect any other bit of diversity than that.

This all goes back to what I’ve talked about numerous times here and here about one of the biggest issues that exist in the LGBT community. That those of us that are a dichotomy, or members of other disparaged communities, face other issues that are completely disregarded pushed aside, or ridiculed by the group that knows what that feels like. Or at the very least knows what it feels like to be treated this way. Race issues and women’s issues in this community too often are treated this way. The only way that this erroneous use of judgment ever changes is when we call it out and explain why it’s wrong.

I’m angry at how insensitive this is to the other members of this community. How this ad openly disparages the women in our community that are always a side note in our struggle for equality. Normally the figureheads in the public eye are all male, all Caucasian and do not even begin to show the diverse dynamics of this community. And it has got to stop. Now. You all should be raging about this. We cannot afford to alienate one right over another. Civil rights movements are not about throwing other groups under the bus to get what we want.  It is not always just about us. And we need to remember that.

NOM’s Brian Brown and Mike Huckabee: Christians Are Victims Of Bullying Homofacist! – Audio

Mike Huckabee should be keeping an eye on his dog-hanging and potential serial killer son to make sure that he doesn’t hang another stray or worse perhaps worse instead of spewing his bullshit and lies.

And Brian Brown.  Really, could you sound any GAYER?

If you are going to make a living off being a gay hater butch it up bitch or people will talk.

NOM’s Brian Brown Goes After Boston’s Mayor Thomas Menino: He’s A Hypocrite!

‘You don’t belong here.’ That’s what Boston’s mayor, Thomas Menino, has told Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A: ‘You don’t belong in Boston.’ The mayor’s reasoning? Because Boston is ‘an open city… a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion.’ The hypocrisy is ludicrous. Menino, of course, is an outspoken promoter of same-sex marriage, just another out-of-touch politician ignorant of the fact that the American people have consistently rejected same-sex marriage at the ballot box.

“Luckily for Mr. Menino, the people of Massachusetts haven’t been allowed to vote on marriage; but they will be allowed to vote on him—and if he isn’t nervous, he probably should be. What kind of mayor denies a large and flourishing company from settling in his city, just because that company’s president disagrees with the mayor’s own radical same-sex marriage agenda? A mayor who cares neither for his constituents or the Constitution!”Brian Brownshirt launching a letter writing campaign to Boston’s Mayor Tom Menino.

This might be interesting for Brownshirt.

NEVER, EVER screw with someone from Boston.

Those Southie boys will fuck you up and you’ll be in the new foundation for some multi-million dollar co-op. (Which is probably as stiff as Brians ever will be)

Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins: Google Bad, Chick-fil-A Good. – Hypocrisy Thy Name Be Perkins

Family Research Council hate group President, white supremacist, and MSNBC and CNN political pundit Tony Perkin’s crawled out from under his extremist “christian” right-wing rock to bad mouth and take on GOOGLE and their “Legalize Love” campaign and to praise Chick-fil-A for being publicly anti-gay and not staying “socially neutral.

PERKINS ON GOOGLE:

Thanks to a new campaign, Google’s approach to traditional values is to search—and destroy. The web giant just kicked off a worldwide push called ‘Legalize Love,’ aimed at breaking down the barriers to homosexuality around the globe. Their biggest targets? Countries that have moral objections to same-sex relationships. [snip] After watching Target and J.C. Penney take a financial hit after endorsing same-sex marriage, Google should know better. They can push to ‘Legalize Love,’ but they shouldn’t be surprised by the blow back. Because when it comes to Google, political neutrality is what most users are searching for.”Tony Perkins, -AFA’s national radio show. (Via Right Wing Watch)

PERKINS ON Chick-fil-A:

Last week, Chick-fil-A’s CEO Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press of his company’s steadfast support for marriage and family. This simple affirmation of biblical truth has sent homosexual activists into a frenzy. Chick-fil-A may be a private company, but that doesn’t mean its executives have to surrender their beliefs. Under the First Amendment, they are just as entitled as any American to speak publicly about their views. Those of us who share Chick-fil-A’s commitment to the biblical definition of the family need to show them that we stand with them (whether or not we’re chicken connoisseurs!). Please join thousands of others and ‘Like’ our Facebook post supporting Chick-fil-A’s stand. Leave a comment in support, or share the post on your page. Join FRC and eat at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, August 1 for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day – an effort started by Gov. Mike Huckabee to show that Americans stand with them.” – Tony Perkins, in an email blast to AFA members.

Tony, would you like a side of hypocrisy with your hate sandwich?

NOM President Brian Brown Responds To Race Baiting Scandal: The Gays Are Just Making It Look Bad.

“Let me be the first to say that the tone of the language in that document as quoted by the press is inapt. Here’s something I know from the bottom of my soul: It would be enormously arrogant for anyone at NOM to believe that we can make or provoke African-American or Latino leaders do anything. The Black and Hispanic Democrats who stand up for marriage do so on principle—and get hit with a wave of vituperative attacks like nothing I have ever seen. We did not cause it, nor can we claim credit for these men and women’s courage in standing up in defense of our most fundamental institution: marriage. [snip]

“This is your movement, Human Rights Campaign. The ugliness it is generating is not consistent with the civil rights movement you claim to want to represent. The underlying narrative of the MSM attacks on NOM generated by this document’s release is absurd: The guts of the ‘Not a Civil Right Project’ was to reach out across lines of race, creed and party to work with great heroes like Sen. Rev. Díaz, Bishop George McKinney and other pastors at the Church of God in Christ (the largest black Pentecostal denomination), Bishop Harry Jackson, and other leaders in the black and Hispanic churches.”

Above the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian (Piggy Man) Brown attempts to save  himself and his organization against the charges or race baiting and attempting to start a war between the LGBT community and blacks and latinos to stop same sex marriage and LGBT Equality which was uncovered when official NOM documents were exposed stating that that was the organizations main strategy.  (Please notice how he sticks it into the middle of blog post as not to draw attention to it and make it a BIG deal.)

Brown can rationalize it any way he wants (since when does “dividing” people – their language – become “reach out across lines of race?,” with the obvious added implication that NOM sees itself as an inherently white entity), but the documents are clear. They seek to cynically use African-Americans. That’s it. That’s enough. No spin can save NOM from its own racism.

And if the “race baiting” wasn’t heinous enough lets lok at  page 25 of NOM’s  strategy plan, wherein they budget $120,000 strictly for the purpose of finding children of gay or lesbian couples who’d be willing to denounce their own parents on camera.
