“Christian” Pediatrician Refuses to Treat Baby Girl Because Her Parents Are Lesbians – #ShameOnYou!

Last September lesbian couple Krista and Jami Contreras were recommended to Dr. Vesna Roi at Eastlake Pediatrics in Roseville [Michigan].by their midwife.

The Contrerasas were told to make an appointment with Roi once their baby (Bay) arrived which they did.  When the day came for the appointment Dr. Roi was nowhere in sight and they were greeted by another Doctor:

“The first thing Dr. Karam said was ‘I’ll be your doctor, I’ll be seeing you today because Dr. Roi decided this morning that she prayed on it and she won’t be able to care for Bay,” Jami said.

Dr. Karam told us she didn’t even come to the office that morning because she didn’t want to see us.

The new mothers were shocked, hurt and angry. “It was embarrassing, it was humiliating and here we are, new parents trying to protect her,” Jami said. “And we know this happens in the world and we’re completely prepared for this to happen other places. But not at our six-day-old’s wellness appointment.”

Four months later, after word of the rejection spread online, the couple received a letter from Dr. Roi. She apologized for not meeting them in person that day, but didn’t apologize for not treating their child, writing, “I felt that I would not be able to develop the personal patient-doctor relationships that I normally do with my patients.”

Michigan has no laws protecting LGBT individuals from discrimination.

You know, it’s bad when Christian bakery owners won’t make a cake for a gay wedding, but exactly how fucked up is it when a “Christian” doctor  refuses care for an innocent baby because its the child of a same-sex couple.

What Hypo-critic Oath did Dr. Roi take?  “Do no harm… unless a baby has lesbian parents, then I can refuse it and it’ll just have to fend for itself.”

Rapper Busta Rhymes Busts Out In Anti-Gay Slurs At Miami Beach Burger Joint

Busta Rhymes anti-gay

Rapper Busta Rhymes, (aka Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr), , has spoken out in the past in support of gay artists and rights , telling MTV News, “I think the whole world is ready to accept whatever people choose to be in life,” when R&B artist Frank Ocean came out.

But that wasn’t the case the other night when Rhymes flew into an anti-gay slur-filled tantrum in Miami Beach early Wednesday morning at the restaurant Cheeseburger Baby hurling homophobic slurs at the restaurant employees  and the owner because he wasn’t allowed to cut in line for a a burger of have it “his” way.

Stephanie Vitori, the owner of  Cheeseburger Baby, said that Rhymes and his entourage got belligerent when the restaurant refused to take their order before others waiting in line — then Rhymes flew into a rage when condiments were served on the side, calling one server a “fag” and Vitori a “bitch.”

Vitori said the restaurant was slammed as usual after South Beach clubs let out, but “one of [Rhymes’] crew came in and said, ‘Can you take my order first? We’re very important people.'”

Cheeseburger Baby employees declined. “It doesn’t matter who you are, its first come first served,” Vitori said.

But despite being served his to-go bag within 10 minutes, Rhymes became enraged that his mayonnaise, ketchup, salt and pepper were included on the side and after an employee explained the policy to the 40-year-old rapper, he allegedly put on his mouth grills and screamed, “Fuck you, fag! I’m not leaving until I get ketchup, mayo, salt and pepper on my burger,” and he began coming over the counter screaming. “Fuck you, bitch,” at Vitori.

All that “over putting ketchup, mayo, salt and pepper on a burger? For real, you can’t open up a mayo and ketchup packet? It’s not right. I’m a gay business owner, and you don’t use that term. It’s degrading.”

Vitori called police but Rhymes left before Miami Beach Police arrived, but Vitori says she filed a report — and then had to call police again after a member of Rhymes’ party called later to say the rapper would be returning. But he never showed. Officers stayed at the restaurant until staff closed up.

Rhymes’ publicist has made no public comment about the incident at this time.

Neither has the organization formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation now only known as GLAAD

Despite Public Opinion Indiana GOP Goes Forward With Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment

Despite crushing victories against the GOP and groups fighting against same-sex marriage in the 2012 election 1010 WCSI out of Indiana is reporting that Rep. Eric Turner and his GOP allies are planning to move forward with a proposed amendment that would amend the state’s constitution to define marriage as being between one man and one woman, even though same-sex marriage is already illegal in Indiana

Same-sex marriage is already illegal in Indiana, but legislators overwhelmingly voted last year to put that ban in the constitution. It has to pass the House and Senate again in 2013 or 2014 — but this month‘s election brought the first suggestion public opinion on the issue could be shifting.

Minnesota voted this month to reject a constitutional ban, while Maine and Maryland became the first states to legalize same-sex marriage by referendum. Representative Eric Turner (R-Marion), who authored the amendment, says Hoosiers have more in common with the 30 states which have approved constitutional bans. But Turner says a House leadership meeting next month will discuss when and whether to resubmit the amendment.

In reality though, a poll conducted and released in March 2011, showed that 47 percent of Indiana residents SUPPORT same-sex marriage while 43 percent oppose it.

Instead of fighting the proposed amendment Indiana Equality Action plans on letting the vote go through and concentrate efforts on fighting conservative forces during the proposed amendment’s final test: a public vote in 2014. 

And that’s a very bad strategy in my opinion.

Heartbreaking Letter From Father Who Disowns His Son Because He’s Gay

Reddit user RegBarc posted this heartbreaking true story and letter from his father after coming out to him in 2007  and the ramifications of the words that anti-gay hate mongers and “loving christians”  like Bryan Fischer, Tony Perkins and even Dan Cathy has caused in his life.

In August of 2007, I finally built up the courage to tell my father I was gay. The moment I said it, the phone got quiet and he got off the phone after a few “Okay”s. I decided to give him time to process the news. About a week later, and not long before my birthday, I received the following letter:

“James: This is a difficult but necessary letter to write. I hope your telephone call was not to receive my blessing for the degrading of your lifestyle. I have fond memories of our times together, but that is all in the past. Don’t expect any further conversations With me. No communications at all. I will not come to visit, nor do I want you in my house. You’ve made your choice though Wrong it may be. God did not intend for this unnatural lifestyle. If you choose not to attend my funeral, my friends and family will understand. Have a good birthday and good life. No present exchanges will be accepted. Goodbye, Dad.”

It’s important to know just what this zealotry from Bryan Fisher, Maggie Gallagher, Dan Cathy, et al., does to everyday people. I’ve never done drugs, was an excellent student, an obedient child (far less trouble than many of my classmates), didn’t drink until I was 22 because it terrified me, and have had just 1 speeding ticket in my life. Yet I am still seemingly deserving of this terrible act of hate and cowardice that one person can place on another. 5 years on and I am still doing fine, though this letter saunters into my mind every once in a while. When it does, I say without hesitation: F**k you, Dad.

What type of man would walk away from his little boy forever over something like this?

No REAL man at all.

Well she did before someone at The Ruth Institute (a tax exempt 501c)  blog noticed it and yanked it.  But not before Joe Jervis of Joe My God got a screencap and copied the text of the post.

Yes, you are outsiders. Go start your own damn country. This one was started by Christians, you puerile dimwits. It is Christians who established and largely Christians who fought and died to maintain the freedoms you enjoy. And Christians are still the majority. Apparently your vaulted belief system doesn’t equip you to handle being in the minority. That’s interesting, isn’t it? After all, this was and is a societal situation valiantly handled by millions and millions of Christians who suffered — and currently suffer — real oppression, violence, torture, economic deprivation, and cruel deaths. But you have to go through turning off the TV once in a while and so your precious puny feelings are hurt. How delicate and frail your mental architecture is! You are a pitiful joke.

National Organization For Marriage Continues Its Threats On New York: They Will Pay A Grave Price!

Professional hater, bigot, and spokescow of The National Organization of Marriage continued the hate organizations threats against New York today for passing a law to allow same sex marriage in New York.

“New York Republicans are responsible for passing gay marriage. The party will pay a grave price. Here is what we know. In state after state, Democrats who control a chamber in support of their base have prevented votes favorable to marriage: Iowa, West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania.

N.Y, Republicans did not have to bring gay marriage up for a vote: What does it mean that they passed gay marriage in N.Y.? Usually I wouldn’t waste my time posting about some small time,  inbred North Carolina GOP County Commissioner like Bill James but James is a total homophobic scumbag that needs to be called out.

Last week fellow Mecklenburg County Commissioner Chair Jennifer Roberts’ requested that the Commission send a letter thanking some members of the Charlotte-area congressional delegation for their “yes” votes on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) repeal this month. Roberts was to send the letter to U.S. Reps. Larry Kissell and Mel Watt and U.S. Sens. Richard Burr and Kay Hagan. President Barack Obama last week signed the repeal act into law. But anti-gay bigot Bill James was having none of it

“Homosexuals are sexual predators,” James wrote in one email from string of three between county board members, Roberts and County Manager Harry Jones, and provided by James to quotes. “Allowing homosexuals to serve in the US military with the endorsement of the Mecklenburg County Commission ignores a host of serious problems related to maintaining US military readiness and effectiveness not the least of which is the current Democrat plan to allow homosexuals (male and female) to share showers with those they are attracted to.”

James added, “The US Government would not allow Hetero men and women to share showers and other personal facilities yet the leading homosexual in Congress (Barney Frank) thinks it is OK for homosexuals to do so allowing enlisted men and women to fall prey to higher ranking or more powerful homosexuals who ogle them (or worse).”

Sounds like typical GOP Right Wing Christomaniac bullshit right?  So why a post about some lowly County Commissioner in North Carolina?

Because the mans a total evil anti-gay douchebag.

James has said he’s undertaken his own communication to the new Republican leaders of North Carolina’s state legislature. He says he’s asked them to take up a variety of anti-gay social cause, like banning gay adoptions, prohibiting domestic partner benefits and placing on the ballot an anti-LGBT, anti-family marriage amendment to the state constitution. But what he did last year was so low, so evil and so beneath contempt its truly amazing that no one has called him out and he has not suffered any ramifications and continues to win elections in North Carolina.

During a debate last December on domestic partner benefits for county employees, James leaned over to his Democratic colleague, Vilma Leake, and called her son a “homo.” Leake’s son died from AIDS in the 1990s.

So low.  So disgusting it makes me want to book a ticket to North Carolina and go kick his ass.

People like him are a relic of the hate filled old south, ignorance and prejudice that we as a progressive society can no longer afford to have even a low position of political power

Not only do the Tony Perkins, Maggie Gallagher’s and Peter Sprigg’s of the world need to be held up to scrutiny but so do their lowly underlings and co-horts like Bill James who also needs to be branded with their evil and hateful ignorance and publicly paraded around so others can see just how vile and disgusting they really are.
