Today a hearing on the marriage equality bill is scheduled before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee in Maryland.  But last night The City of Praise congregation in Prince George’s County bused in hundreds of “loving christians” to deny equal rights to gays and lesbians and preach the old line over and over. “It’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”.

One woman told ABC7 News, “We’re not here saying we hate a homosexual male or female, we love you, but we want to share with you the truth, the word of God.”

The really ironic  thing about this protest is that it happened in the pavilion in front of the Thurgood Marshall memorial, which has the words “equal justice under law” inscribed across the top. I guess they forgot to look.
