EQCA Rates "Forced Out Of The Closet" Roy Ashburn With HIGH Marks Forgetting His Years of Destructive Closet Case Homophobia

Equality California the organization that hides its donor information and gives a 46% raise to its Director Geoff Kors who did a horrible job with Prop 8 in the same year as its donations have dropped over 58%.  Has just ranked “forced out of the closet” Roy Ashburn a very respectable score on their legislative list – 86. That’s much higher than his ranking last year, when it was zero. The California State Senator claims that it was his coming out that changed how he does his job these days.

Ashburn, who had “a long history of opposing gay rights, was arrested in Sacramento last year for driving under the influence with an unidentified male passenger.after he left Faces, a gay club in the Sacramento, thus forcing him out of the closet and trying to cover his rabid homophobic past.

So after years of being a hateful Washington politico closet case and voting against EVERY LGBT Rights piece of legislation that came before him.  Ashburn deliberately went into politics with the aim of representing a group of people who do not want any measure of LBGT equality. He spent years doing their bidding entirely by choice. Does all that get wiped away because he was yanked out of the closet when he got popped for a DUI with some that he’d just picked up at the bar?

Considering how much harm and distraught he brought through his tenure I have a hard time forgiving. It makes you wonder how many gays were harmed or died due to his legislative ignorance. Forgiving Ashburn so easily, like forgiving Ken Mehlman at all is akin to forgiving Hitler for the Holocaust.

Homo Sat What? – Jarret Barrios President of GLAAD: "How Judge Walker rules (On Prop 8) doesn’t matter nearly as much as the process did."

What an ignorant flaming asshole……..

The trial mattered a lot, but how Judge Walker rules doesn’t matter nearly as much as the process did. Of enormous — but underappreciated — significance was the role the trial played as a forum for gay and lesbian couples to tell their stories. As fair-minded Americans have gotten to know these couples and their inspiring commitment to one another, public opinion has moved toward strong support for equality. – Jarret Barrios President of GLAAD

For barrios to actually believe this makes him beyond dellusional.  Not all that many people followed the trial, particularly since the Supreme Court quashed televising it, and most people, particularly among straights, don’t even know what Perry vs. Schwarzenegger is.

To actually think that Barrios is a Leader in the LGBT Community is mind boggling .

To think that any of them Kors, Forman, Carey, Solmonese are still our “leaders” is mind boggling .

Who still, after everything that has happened and been exposed about this worthless lot keeps giving money to these assholes and their organizations to pay thier bloated salaries?

Equality California Responds To Dustin Lance Black Dis-Invite On Harvey Milk Day. Spin Baby Spin!

Yesterday I and a few other sites reported on a story that Equality California had disinvited Dustin Lance Black from a Harvey Milk Day fundraiser at the home of Sharon and Kelly Osborne after Perez Hilton accepted their invite to the same event.

Equality California “reached out” to Towleroad with a statement regarding the event and what transpired:

Statement from Geoff Kors, Executive Director, Equality California, on EQCA Harvey Milk Day Event with the Osbornes:

“Yesterday, for the first ever Harvey Milk Day, LGBT people and our allies celebrated Milk’s legacy across the state. We appreciate that there are lots of differences within our community, but this day for recognizing Milk’s legacy is bigger than any of us.

We didn’t disinvite Dustin Lance Black from EQCA’s Harvey Milk Day event held at the home of Sharon and Kelly Osborne. We invited him to every one of our Harvey Milk Day events and really appreciate his joining us to kick off a door-to-door canvass in Los Angeles in the morning, speaking at Los Angeles City Hall with the City Council and Mayor on Friday, and working for weeks to help us make our statewide field effort a big success. He also lobbied with us to pass the bill creating Harvey Milk Day. Without his advocacy efforts and his historic screenplay Milk, we’re sure the Governor would never have signed the bill.

We did let Black know that Perez Hilton might be attending the event as a guest of the Osbornes out of courtesy, as we know that there is tension between them (of which the Osbornes were not aware). Hilton was also on the media lists for other organizations’ Harvey Milk Day events. We would never disinvite anyone from our events, and our Harvey Milk Day events were open to the press. Hilton did not attend the event. We did let Black know that Hilton wasn’t coming, and he sent me a text saying that he didn’t think he could make it to the event before it ended.

We would never disinvite someone from an event who has done as much for the LGBT community as Black has. We’re incredibly impressed with Black’s advocacy for LGBT rights and hope to continue working with him in the future. He is a great champion for our community.

Harvey Milk Day is now over, but we must keep ourselves focused on the real work at hand: moving people to support marriage equality, electing 100% pro-equality candidates and passing legislation to secure LGBT rights.”

Sorry Ms. Kors I for one don’t buy it.  And I doubt anyone else does. What you describe is like inviting President Obama to an event and then telling him at the last minute that Orly Taitz is going to be there. And lets be real Perez Hilton is about as credible media journalist and spokesperson for the gay community as Larry Craig.

Spin spin spin! Make it not so with a keystroke. Damage control…

There are no gay political organizations left. Star-fuckers all.

No wonder we are still denied our rights.

WTF!!! Equality California Disinvited Dustin Lance Black From Fundraiser "Party" So They Could Have Prez Hilton Instead?!

Yesterday morning Academy Award-winning “MILK” screenwriter Dustin Lance Black gave a speech for Equality California’s Harvey Milk Day session, just before volunteers headed out to canvas the Los Angeles area to remind residents why gay rights are important and stuff. Shortly after the speech, EQCA dis-invited Black from tonight’s party at Sharon Osbourne’s estate because they wanted  Perez Hilton there instead!!!

Black has been EQCA’s biggest advocate and (unofficial) public face. More than executive director Geoff Kors ever will be. (And why geoff Kors even has that job after his MASSIVE FUCK-UP running the “No On 8 Campaign” is beyond me.)  But rather than acknowledge Black’s record in working with (and defending to critics) the organization by including him at Sharon and Kelly Osbourne’s soiree (event page on Facebook here), where EQCA will earn $150-2,500 per head, they opted to invite Perez Hilton — and told Black not to come.

EQCA this because Hilton and Black aren’t exactly friends, which can be tied back to the X-rated sex photos of Black that Hilton published last year.  EQCA wanted to avoid any drama the confrontation might create, and chose Hilton over Black.  (Good Luck avoiding drama now!)

Black has refused to comment on what transpired between he and EQCA, but confirms he was asked not to go to this afternoon’s event.

THIS is why gay rights get no where.  The people who care and we should look to in our struggle are competing with trash like Perez Hilton.  Both Hilton and Kors the worst of lispy pretension fags on the planet. Both will do anything to make a buck.  Garbage utter garbage  (Oh and btw.  Harvey wouldn’t be caught dead at a party like this.  Perhaps ECQA and Kors should get off thier well funded asses and actually fight!)
