“When Burger King says ‘have it your way,’ they aren’t just talking about food. Hello, I’m Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. Is it Burger King or Burger Queen? Customers in San Francisco aren’t so sure after the chain’s new Proud Whopper. Local stores unveiled the rainbow menu to coincide with LGBT week. Although nothing’s different about the burger, executives hope the wrapper will make a statement. But even in liberal San Francisco, Time reports, some customers have a beef with the burgers. ‘If that’s what they’re gonna do,’ said one person, ‘they won’t [have] my business anymore.’ That’s the beauty of the free market. If Burger King wants to cater to a fringe group at the expense of other customers, that’s their choice. Just like it’s Cracker Barrel’s decision to support natural marriage and the celebrities who advocate it. The problem is those companies who say they believe in debate and then try to silence it. That’s the biggest whopper of them all.” – KKK-affiliated hate group leader Tony Perkins, speaking on his national radio show.
Not to be outdone Tim Wildmon AFA hate group President and the man who signs Bryan Fischer’s paycheck had this to say about BK’s PROUD Whopper.
“I am offended by Burger King’s stunt in offering a so-called “Proud Whopper” in San Francisco. What were you thinking? Your celebrated promotion of cross-dressers and homosexuality is an insult to families and I find your celebration of abhorrent behavior as a reason to dine elsewhere. I hope you will learn from this publicity blunder and realize that while most stores did not participate in the corporate-approved program, the damage has been done and affects the image of all Burger King outlets.
Unless there is some pushback from consumers, there is a real possibility that they could expand this promotion.”
“They’re forcing this big, gay arrogant whopper right down our throats!”
And by the way Tim and Tony, NOBODY “Dines” at Burger King.
Bryan Fischer says Burger King’s Proud Whopper is a disastrous idea because nobody wants to eat a hamburger that makes them think about two guys having sex.
What a closet case. All Fischer ever does is think about meat in buns.
Behind the counter at a Burger King in the heart of San Francisco is a rainbow-colored menu board advertising a product that the fast-food behemoth has never sold before and isn’t selling anywhere else: The Proud Whopper. When customers visiting during Sunday’s pride parade asked cashiers what made this Whopper different from a standard-issue burger, they simply said, “I don’t know.” The mystery was revealed once diners opened the rainbow-colored wrapper and got a taste: absolutely nothing is different about this burger, nothing at all. To emphasize the point, the interior of the wrapper comes with a second message: “We Are All the Same Inside.”
From Burger Kings press release:
Burger King Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: BKW) is broadcasting a widespread message in support of self-expression with a digital film launching today. The film was created at a BURGER KING® restaurant at the heart of the San Francisco Pride Parade route where a limited edition PROUD WHOPPER® Sandwich was added to the menu. Guests who ordered the PROUD WHOPPER® Sandwich were surprised because it is in fact, the same iconic fire-grilled WHOPPER® Sandwich beloved since 1957, but wrapped in rainbow colored paper inscribed with a message reading: “we are all the same inside.”
“We are always looking to engage our guests on a local level and be part of regionally relevant events,” said Kelly Gomez, Director of West Coast Field Marketing, BURGER KING® West Division. “With one of our restaurants on the Pride Parade route, it was a natural fit to be involved and celebrate by giving something back to the community.”
Unfortunately, the PROUD WHOPPER® Sandwich will ONLY be available at the BURGER KING® restaurant located at 1200 Market Street through July 3rd. All PROUD WHOPPER® Sandwich sales will be donated to the BURGER KING McLAMORE Foundation, for scholarships benefiting LGBT college-bound, high school seniors graduating in spring 2015.
Have it your way, baby!
Gary Bauer – Failed GOP presidential candidate:
“The ultimate goal of homosexual-rights activists is not to legalize same-sex marriage. Rather, it is to silence those who disagree with them and, if necessary, to throw them in jail. In a world in which the biblical viewpoint of marriage is demonized, it does not take a constitutional scholar to predict that soon those who hold that view will find themselves in court. How did we get to the point where homosexual-rights activists would be clamoring to redefine society’s oldest and most reliable institution and people of faith would be worried about being fined or jailed for teaching their faith?”
Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy – Still serving that HATE sandwich Cathy tweeted and then deleted the above message. The company’s spokesman has refused to discuss the tweet
Poppin’ Douche GOP doughboy NJ Governor Christie Slams SCOTUS Rulings –
“I don’t think it was appropriate. I think it was wrong. [snip] I’ve made it very clear since 2009 that I believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman. I’ve said that, I ran on that, I’ve said it consistently. That doesn’t mean, in any way shape or form, that I have anything against folks who are homosexual. In fact, I’ve said I believe people are born that way. I don’t believe it’s a choice … you were born with your sexual preference. But I believe that the institution of marriage for 2,000 years has been between a man and a woman.”
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, headed by Archbishop Timothy Dolan and Archbishop and drunk driver Salvatore Cordileone –
“Today is a tragic day for marriage and our nation. The Supreme Court has dealt a profound injustice to the American people by striking down in part the federal Defense of Marriage Act. The Court got it wrong. The federal government ought to respect the truth that marriage is the union of one man and one woman, even where states fail to do so. The preservation of liberty and justice requires that all laws, federal and state, respect the truth, including the truth about marriage. It is also unfortunate that the Court did not take the opportunity to uphold California’s Proposition 8 but instead decided not to rule on the matter. The common good of all, especially our children, depends upon a society that strives to uphold the truth of marriage. Now is the time to redouble our efforts in witness to this truth. These decisions are part of a public debate of great consequence. The future of marriage and the well-being of our society hang in the balance.”
Yes On 8 President Andy Pugno –
“California’s Constitution says that only an appellate court, not a single trial court judge, can stop a proposition’s enforcement statewide. As of today, there is no such ruling. Nevertheless, the Governor and Attorney General today rushed forward with plans to make same-sex ‘marriage’ licenses available throughout California in the next three or four weeks. And that is where it sits this evening. Our Legal Team is closely examining today’s court rulings, and assessing what, if any, options are available to us to keep Proposition 8 in force. This is a time for careful consideration and discernment, and we thank you in advance for your patience and continued support.”
Family Research Council hate group leader Tony Perkins –
“By a single vote, five unelected justices determined that they know better than God and struck at the heart of marriage in America. It was a powerful rebuke of a law FRC helped develop, the Defense of Marriage Act, but not the final blow. Fortunately, conservative leaders across our country aren’t about to let that happen. In interview after interview, tweet after tweet, the message echoed from Governor’s mansions to congressional floors: we are not giving up. It started with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and flooded the wires since then. Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) vowed to lead the fight for a Federal Marriage Amendment. Governor Mike Pence (R-IN) said he would use today’s rulings as motivation to work even harder for a state marriage amendment. Are these rulings demoralizing? Definitely. But we will not let a court’s definition of marriage define us.”
National Organization for Marriage Million Dollar Hate group leader Brian Brown, (typing through an unending flood of bitter, bitter tears.) –
“I am furious about what the Court has done. We at NOM and tens of millions of other Americans will never accept it. It’s wrong, plain and simple. There’s a stench to these decisions that has stained the Supreme Court. Will you show your outrage at the Court and make a special contribution to allow NOM to coalesce Americans behind a national movement to preserve marriage? Please make an urgent, emergency financial contribution to our Win More States fund — today. The work that NOM does has never been more urgently needed than it is right now, and we are totally dependent on you, our faithful supporters, to help us continue the fight. Will you join us in expressing your outrage? Please make an emergency contribution right now so that we can immediately launch a nationwide grassroots effort to protest the decisions, and preserve marriage in the 38 states that have laws in place defending marriage.”
Michele Batshit Crazy Bachmann –
“For thousands of years of recorded human history, no society has defended the legal standard of marriage as anything other than between man and woman. Only since 2000 have we seen a redefinition of this foundational unit of society in various nations. Today, the U.S. Supreme Court decided to join the trend, despite the clear will of the people’s representatives through DOMA. What the Court has done will undermine the best interest of children and the best interests of the United States.”
Save California head Randy Thomasson (whose hate gravy train has just derailed) –
“Sexual behavior does not constitute a civil right, but the Supreme Court has done vast damage to man-woman marriage, the foundation of the natural family. The high court’s refusal to correct the unconstitutional rulings of lower-court judges and the dereliction of duty by constitution-bound state officials demonstrates that not only is natural, man-woman marriage no longer respected but neither is our republic and system of written laws. Because the high court didn’t care about protecting natural marriage or even the initiative process, they have allowed unnatural, homosexual ‘marriages’ to resume in California as role models for children. Today, marriage, children, and the rule of law all suffer.”
And last but not least…….
Maggie Gallagher the Talking Cow –
“The Supreme Court has just abandoned 7 million voters, giving us no justice and no access to the courts.. The California Supreme Court made it clear that the proponents of Prop 8 are delegated the right to defend the law if state official refuse to do so. But after accepting standing in DOMA because. . .well because it wanted to, the majority of the Supreme Court justices simply punted unable to recognize a clear injustice in kicking out of court people who have devoted thousands of hours to the democratic process –and $3 million to the defense of the law–that the Court today treats as beggars with no interest in the outcome.”
Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious.
“Turning a chicken sandwich into Public Gay Enemy Number One makes LGBT people look superficial, vindictive and juvenile — everything that we as a community have worked hard to overcome. Remember, employers don’t want drama queens on the payroll, military service is serious business, and marriage is not a right society grants to spoiled children. While in a perfect world our equality should not depend on our good behavior, in a world where our rights too often hinge on political reality, the way our movement conducts itself matters.
“The ‘movable middle’ moves both ways, and they don’t like seeing people attacked relentlessly for their religion. Whatever the nuances, these voters see a man standing up for his beliefs against a politically powerful mob dead-set on driving him out of business. It’s un-American, and when fellow conservatives are finally standing up and speaking out for marriage equality as consistent with the sober values of responsibility and commitment, splashing a popular American company with metaphorical chicken blood in protest is nothing less than friendly fire.”
Cooper just happens to forget and in no way mentions the millions upon millions of dollars that Chick-fil-A has donated to anti-gay hate groups including the ex-gay group Exodus International as he kisses the asses of his Right-Wing Masters.
To put it bluntly R. Clark Cooper is an asshole. He always has been, and always will be. And the same goes for all members of The Log Cabin Republicans and GOProud. They will always be business and finance first and the LGBT community second.
To them equality be damned just lower taxes and increase business profits.
Disgusting.
Old bullethead is right about one thing though. A chicken sandwich shouldn’t be Public Gay Enemy Number One.
It should be self-loathing, traitorous, Auntie Tom “gay republicans” like R. Clark Cooper who’ll sell out their own community and happily take a seat at the back of the bus by backing a political party that loathes them for a few more dollars in their bank accounts and a pat on the head.
Theres something that needs to be clarified in this whole Chick-fil-A business.
Chick-fil-A is not only anti same-sex marriage. They are Anti-Gay everything. PERIOD.
Chick-fil-A’s charitable arm has donated MILLIONS of dollars and services to anti-gay groups and nationally recognized hate groups including Focus on the Family and The Family Research Council whose hateful agendas go far beyond that of same-sex marriage but extends to other issues LGBT related issues as fighting ENDA and the repealing of DADT.
Also, one of Chick-fil-A recipients was Exodus International an “ex-gay” organization that uses conversion therapy to attempt to turn gay people straight and has ruined the lives of countless of thousands of gay men and has even led some to commit suicide.
Chick-Fil-A is not only anti same-sex marriage. They are anti-gay everything plain and simple.
This is not a just a one issue subject issue where Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A is concerned and we shouldn’t let it be portrayed that way by the right-wing, the mainstream media and our own LGBT media needs to remember that as portray them as that as well.

At Chick-Fil-A, Thigh Will Be Done
July 19, 2012 – Thursday
Fortunately for the marriage movement, Chick-fil-A’s slogan is “Eat More Chicken”–not act like one. The popular food chain, which is even more beloved by employees for its family-friendly policies, isn’t shying away from its biblical roots. Despite fierce pressure from the Left, CEO Dan Cathy is planting his feet in the face of criticism and reiterating that their business is as God-centered as it ever was. Asked about the franchise’s support for family values, Dan responded, “guilty as charged.”
“We are very much supportive of the family–the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that… We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”
The company became a favorite punching bag of the Left when it donated lunches to a healthy marriage seminar last year. To most people, it was just a box of chicken. But it ruffled the feathers of homosexual activists, who saw it as a declaration of war. Shortly after, liberals started recruiting schools to boycott the restaurant–and some have. Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Duke, North Carolina State–they all want us to believe that Christians have no business doing business in America. Now, as more customers see Chick-fil-A standing for something definitive, not in the mushy middle, even more are rallying to the company’s side.
Yesterday, to the outrage of the liberal media, Dan put his passion for man-woman marriage on full display. “…I think we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’ I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think we can try to define what marriage is all about.” Unlike J.C. Penney, whose homosexual pandering is driving the stock to record losses, Chick-fil-A is catering to mainstream America.
Join FRC in thanking the Cathys for standing their ground and refusing to be intimidated. Start by clicking over to our “EAT MOR CHIKIN” Facebook post. Then, drive through Chick-fil-A and drive home your support! – Tony Perkins
Not terribly surprising, especially since even though Chick-fil-A has never donated money directly to the FRC they have provided FREE CATERING for FRC and FRC affiliated events with other anti-gay hate groups.
