Self-loathing "Ex-Gays" To Lobby Congress Against The Equality Act

Self-loathing “Ex-Gays” To Lobby Congress Against The Equality Act

Via a press release from the very un-christian, Christian Newswire::

“Formers” (those who no longer identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning) representing every state in the Union have selected 15 Former LGBTQ people to travel to Washington, D.C. October 28 – November 1 to address concerns about LGBTQ-focused legislation such as bill H.R. 5, which passed in the House in May.

Although dubbed “The Equality Act,” Formers understand the bill is an unnecessary concession to the false idea that members of the gay community are marginalized. In fact, LGBTQ-identifying people have always had options in how they participate in broader culture. Nothing constrains them from participating in culture on a normal level.

Unlike with the African American community, who have centuries of culturally driven abuse and forced destabilization, those who identify as LGBTQ have been empowered in our modern society as scientists, literary giants, and even politicians when they have chosen not to prioritize their sexual mores.

America does not need anti-discrimination laws or bans against treatment for those seeking to live out their faith biblically; we need a renewed belief in the dignity and beauty of all of humanity in its diversity. America CAN model for the world what it looks like to value one another despite our differences without government intrusion or enforcement.

For Formers, bills like H.R. 5 block our rights to follow our own convictions. It enforces the false belief that one cannot change and that one has no choice but to embrace LGBTQ identity and behaviors.

So 15 Former LGBTQ people will travel to Washington, D.C. October 28 – November 1.

We’ll be sure to check GRINDR and SCRUFF for their arrival.

“Ex-Gay” Group Seeking To Re-Emerge And Convert Other Gay “Sinners”

In this is ridiculous news, a new group has emerged claiming they can “cure” homosexuality through prayer. Exodus International, a group that attempts to “reprogram gay men and women, had a huge setback earlier this year. Their leader Alan Clambers admitted that there is no way to “cure” or pray the gay away. This was a huge contrast to the group’s ongoing statement that they can  rid gay men and women of their sexuality.

So a new group has emerged claiming that they can “cure” homosexuality called Restored Hope Network (RHN) to reform us gays claiming that they give hope when really all they do is incite fear. This is their mission statement:

“a membership governed network dedicated to restoring hope to those broken by sexual and relational sin, especially those impacted by homosexuality. We proclaim that Jesus Christ has life-changing power for all who submit to Christ as Lord; we also seek to equip His church to impart that transformation.”

Americans for ‘Truth’ About Homosexuality leader Peter LaBarbera is ecstatic believing this will help their asinine organization after Chamber’s damning comments. Here’s LaBabera’s ridiculous statement:

“Americans For Truth is excited to hear about the formation of this Christian ”ex-gay” alternative to Exodus International, which has lost the trust of many pro-family advocates and Christian leaders due to the perceived unbiblical and erroneous statements by Exodus leader Alan Chambers. See this paper by Bible-and-homosexuality expert and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Prof. Robert Gagnon as the best critique of Chambers’ liberal tilt. Also see former homosexual DL Foster’s blog, Gay Christian Movement Watch.–Restored Hope Network (RHN) has recently been formed by leaders from throughout North America who seek to minister to homosexuals and other sexually broken individuals according to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith. We seek to be honest about the need for repentance in the life of believer and nonbeliever alike and we seek to communicate the many ways that God brings about real and lasting change in the life of anyone who turns to Him and allows Him to take them through a life-transforming process.”

I’d love for for more medical/mental health organizations to further denounce and ban this type of “help” and call it what it really is: brainwashing so religious organizations like RHN, EI, and AFTAH can no longer lie when they recite inaccurate research. This form of “treatment/religious intervention/whatever the hell they’re calling it” has been proven harmful and that it does not help at all. California is already taking steps to prevent this form of “reparative therapy” for children. These are the negative effects they found in their research:

The task force concluded that sexual orientation change efforts can pose critical health risks to lesbian, gay, and bisexual people, including confusion, depression, guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, shame, social withdrawal, suicidality, substance abuse, stress, disappointment, self-blame, decreased self-esteem and authenticity to others, increased self-hatred, hostility and blame toward parents, feelings of anger and betrayal, loss of friends and potential romantic partners, problems in sexual and emotional intimacy, sexual dysfunction, high-risk sexual behaviors, a feeling of being dehumanized and untrue to self, a loss of faith, and a sense of having wasted time and resources.

The APA (American Psychological Association) have already denounced the treatment of “reparative therapy” because no beneficial evidence has been found and that there is no cure for homosexuality. Why? Because there is nothing wrong with being gay. These groups that try to alter someone’s sexuality need to stop lying. You cannot pray away your sexuality. It would also be nice if they’d stop lying about Jesus because he was about love. This is just flat out wrong. Why don’t you actually start following Jesus’ true purpose which was love and acceptance.

MARYLAND: Montgomery County Board Of Education Allows “Ex-Gay” Group Flyers To Be Given To School Children

Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland is defending and standing by its decision to allow the distribution of fliers from the “ex-gay” group PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays which also just happens to be headquartered in Montgomery County, MD) to students at Einstein High School in Rockville, Maryland not because they believe in it (or so they say) but because “the board of education policy allows materials and announcements from non-profit community organizations to be distributed at four designated times during the school year,”

Perhaps a non-profit abortion clinic should distribute flyer’s next quarter and see if the Board of Education has no problem with that.

Feel free to let MCPS know how you feel about them allowing a non-profit hate group like PFOX distribute possibly harmful pamphlets to children.  Because if you don’t.  No one else will.  CLICK HERE

Video – Christian Broardcast Network Presents Lie Filled Propaganda Piece To Protect The Bachmann’s and "Pray The Gay Away" Therapy

The Christian Broadcast Network televised a massive fact lacking propaganda piece yesterday defending the Michele and Marcus Bachmann’s “Pray The Gay Away” therapy clinic by trotting out  evangelical researcher Mark Yarhouse of Pat Robertson’s Regent University and praised his presentation at the American Psychological Associations Annual Conference

Unfortunatltly the CBC just happened to leave out that this was back in 2007 and that their work was fully funded by Exodus International  and it utilized activist research subjects who were recruited with help from Exodus and the ex-gay therapy lobby NARTH and that it had many many problems

Via Truth Wins Out:

•The study was conducted by two supporters of ex-gay ministries.
•Yarhouse originally sought 300 participants, but after more than a year of seeking to round up volunteers, they had to settle on only 98 participants.
•During the course of the study, 25 dropped out, and one participant’s answers were too incomplete to be used.
•Of the remaining 72 only 11 reported “satisfactory, if not uncomplicated, heterosexual adjustment.” (direct quote). Some of these 11 remained primarily homosexual in attraction or, at best, bisexual, but were satisfied that they were just slightly more attracted to the opposite sex, or slightly less attracted to the same sex.
•After the study ended, but before the book was finished, one of the 11 wrote to the authors to say that he lied — he really wanted to change, had really hoped he had changed, and answered that he had changed. But he concluded that he hadn’t, came out, and is now living as an openly gay man.
•Dozens of participants experienced no lessening of same-sex attraction and no increase in opposite-sex attraction, but were classified as “success” stories by Jones and Yarhouse simply because they maintained celibacy — something many conservative gay people already do.
•The study purposely declined to interview any ex-gay survivors: people who claim to have been injured by ex-gay programs and who have formed support groups such as Beyond Ex-Gay. Despite — or because of — this omission, the authors of this study make the unfounded claim that there is little or no evidence of harm resulting from unproven, unsupervised, unlicensed, and amateur ex-gay counseling tactics.

But in reality the APA criticized  Yarhouse’s research methods pointing out most “notably the absence of a control or comparison group and the threats to internal, external, construct, and statistical validity. Best-practice analytical techniques were not performed in the study, and there are significant deficiencies in the analysis of longitudinal data, use of statistical measures, and choice of assessment measures”.

CBN then furthers the propaganda report by trotting out a representative of the Media Research Center which is known, and proven by Back2Stonewall.com yesterday to be one of the many umbrella and astroturfing groups that has direct ties to the hate group the Family Research Council.and the extreme fanatical religious right.

Self Loathing "Ex -Gay" Exodus International President Alan Chambers: No GAY Is Good Gay

Celibacy is the godly option for all single men and women. Yet today, while many Christians with same-sex attractions are choosing celibacy, they’re also opting to keep the gay identity/label. This falls short of God’s best because identity matters. How we view and refer to ourselves is very important. Twenty years ago when I began my journey out of the gay lifestyle toward holiness, I could’ve simply worked on my sexual urges and opted not to deal with the deeper issues that fueled my desire for sex. I could’ve called myself a celibate gay man and left it at that. But that wouldn’t have taken me far.” – Exodus International president Alan Chambers.

So basically this extreme closet case is saying even if he doesn’t suck a dick for the rest of his unatural life he’s still going to hell.

So why bother being self loathing, hateful and celibate?  Chambers makes over  $500,000.00 in wages, and employee benefits a year.  (Cheap whore)

Video – "The Sissy Experiment" Part 2 – Confronting George Allan Rekers About The Death Of Kirk Murphy

Anderson Cooper and CNN take a three part look at the tragic death of Kirk Murphy

In 1970, a five-year-old boy named Kirk Murphy was subjected to an ex-gay experiment. Under the care of  George Rekers, , he underwent therapy to eliminate supposed effeminate behaviors.

In 1974, Lovaas and Rekers jointly published a paper about the boy they renamed “Kraig,” heralding his treatment for “childhood cross-gender problems” a success and claiming he had been transformed from a gender-confused homosexual-in-waiting to a healthy, heterosexual young man. On the back of this study, Rekers built a career as an anti-gay activist and a supposed expert in childhood sexual development. He co-founded the officially sanctioned anti-gay hate the Family Research Council and championed “ex-gay” therapy to turn gay men straight.

In 2003, Kirk, aged 38 years old and gay, committed suicide.

In May 2010 George Rekers was exposed for hiring gay male prostitute as a travel companion for a two-week vacation in Europe

Video- CNN Investigates The "Sissy Boy Experiment": The Evils of George Alan Rekers, Ex-Gay Threapy, And The Tragic Death of Kirk Murphy

Anderson Cooper and CNN is taking a three part look at the tragic death of Kirk Murphy who, at the age of 5 was put into an experimental government-funded program at the University of California, Los Angeles in the early 1970s  to be “cured” of his effeminate ways which was run by George Alan Rekers who later in his life would be a co-founder of The Family Research Council and who would be busted for hiring male escorts because he himself was secretly gay despite the fact that he devoted his life to “curing” of homosexuality and causing harm and self destruction of many of the boys and men put in his charge.

Kirk Murphy committed suicide at the age of 38.

Below is Part 1 of Kirk Murphy’s tragic story.

Ex-Gay Brianwashing Group "Exodus International" Had A Very Bad Year – Boo F**king Hoo!

The ex-gay brainwahing group otherwise known as Exodus International has posted a passive/agressive plea for Right Wingnut Welfare claiming that EI had a very bad year.

“Dear friends, please pray for us at Exodus. We have experienced an unexpectedly low giving season this summer coupled with much higher expenses (insurance, utilities, etc). Sadly, we have had to let several staff go. Your prayers are appreciated. For those who are also having to endure this unfriendly economy, our prayers are with you!” – Exodus International President, Alan Manning Chambers

Well if we have nothing else to thank this god awful economy for, iat least, hopefully it will be the extinction of some of you homophobes, liars, cheats, bigots and haters…

Hopefully your anti-gay gravy train is drying up.  You self loathing loser.

Remember this phrase Alan you might need it in the future.  “You want fries with that?”
