Sen Scott (Cosmo) Brown Loses Boston Boxing Legends Endorsement Over Anti-Gay Rights Stand

Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) has lost the endorsement of Boston Boxing legend Micky Ward, the subject of the 2010 biopic The Fighter after Ward learned that Brown opposes LGBT rights and labor unions.

The Lowell Sun reported Friday that Ward initially told the paper day that he was set to endorse Scott Brown’s re-election, but changed his mind shortly after:

Roughly a half-hour after Ward confirmed he was backing Brown, ‘The Fighter’ called back. He said he had given his endorsement a little more thought. “I can’t support Scott Brown,” Ward said. “I just can’t do it.”

Within 30 minutes, Ward either did some Googling or someone close to him reminded him about where Brown stood on some hot-button political topics. “I found out Scott (Brown) is anti-union and I’m a Teamster guy,” said Ward. “I found out he’s also against gay marriage and I say if you love someone you should have the same rights no matter who you are

Brown has been bragging about Wards endorsement for weeks before the hometown boxing legend gave Brown the ole one – two punch.

Talk about “rope a dope”. LOL!

Miami Dade Democrat Shirley Gibson Seeks “Cost Review” Of Human Rights Ordinance After Anti-Gay Endorsement

Miami’s Dade County Florida is in the Gay Hall of Shame again.

This time because of “supposed” Democrat Shirley Gibson (pictured left) who is running for the county commission who is interested in a cost review of Miami  Dade County’s human-rights and domestic-partnership ordinances after she received an endorsement from the right-wing hate group the Christian Family Coalition,  which the Miami  New Times  refers to as “taken the reigns of Anita Bryant’s Miami  anti-gay crusade.”

Miami  Dade County’s human-rights and domestic-partnership ordinances currently protect LGBT residents from discrimination in housing, employment and  public accommodations—and establish a registry for same-sex partners, allowing  county employees to share employment benefits with their significant others.

Gibson, currently the Mayor of Miami Gardens is running to unseat Miami-Dade Commissioner Barbara Jordan a long time supporter of the LGBT community.

Statement by CJ Ortuno, Executive Director SAVE Dade

“Miami Gardens Mayor Shirley Gibson’s statement that she would seek a cost review of Miami Dade County’s Human Rights and Domestic Partnership Ordinances but would not ‘initiate’ repeal is a clear indication on her part to appease the conservative groups in which she has received an endorsement. Mayor Gibson actions seem desperate in this difficult election against incumbent and SAVE Dade endorsed Commissioner Barbara Jordan, who has stood with the LGBT community since she was elected to office.”

“To seek a cost review of the ordinances is code for how do we remove protections from the LGBT community of Miami Dade County. The ordinances are essential in safeguarding the LGBT community from discrimination in housing, the workplace, and in their relationships. SAVE Dade is committed to protecting the ordinance and will continue to combat anti-LGBT actions by endorsing and electing pro-equality candidates.”

I’ve said it loudly many times on this site before.

When the religious arguments begin to fail against LGBT Equality begin to fail they will begin to use fiscal arguments.  ANYTHING to deny us our rights.

Who would have ever thought that THIS would be the face of Anita Bryant in 2012?

NOM’s Maggie Gallagher Eats S**t. Officially Endorses Rick Santorum

“What moved me most are the words Rick Santorum used to ‘connect the dots’—to explain why support for marriage, for life, and for an economy that provide the dignity of jobs to average Americans are not three separate things. They are bound together by principles—by American principles…

The left, which thought it had buried Santorum years ago, is going after him with a hatred unmatched. They hate him with that special ire reserved for a man’s virtues, not his vices.

They will go after him not just to defeat Rick Santorum, but to smear his good name, to associate it with their own muck, to take a decent and honorable man and try literally to make his name mean mud. They will not succeed.

The American people, I promise you, are not going to reject a man they would otherwise support because he believes in traditional Christian views of sex and marriage. Especially when he believes—not just with his words, and not just with his vote, but with every action of his soul and his life—that a man’s job is to support his children, born and unborn, to commit a loving and faithful marriage to one woman, and to devote himself to being a good dad.

That’s Rick Santorum.”

So says profesional bigot and mother of a bastard child Maggie Gallagher – Srivastav between feeding times at the trough

Singer Kelly Clarkson Attacked By Fans After Twitter Endorsing Ron Paul For President

Former American Idol Winner and Gold and Platinum Album singer Kelly Clarkson found herself hitting some sour notes among fans last night when she publicly endorsed Ron Paul for President via Twitter.

Clarkson tweeted “I love Ron Paul,” said Clarkson. “I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

Amost immediately fans attacked Clarkson over Ron Paul’s newsletters which contained racially insensitive and anti-gay rhetoric and survivalist propaganda.

Clarkson tried to clarify her position on Paul by tweeting. “I have never heard that he’s a racist? I definitely don’t agree with racism, that’s ignorant,” and “I love all people and could care less if you like men or women,” Clarkson again tweeted. “I have never seen or heard Ron Paul say anything against gay people?”

In the end Clarkson apologized to her fans for offending anyone but she did not change her position.

“I am really sorry if I have offended anyone.  Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.”

One Tweeter perfectly summed up Clarkson’s evening in 140 characters.

“So @KellyClarkson just found out what happens when you don’t know your potential candidate. #EducateYourself #VotingTakesKnowledge
