Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday addressed the controversy over his homophobic attacks on Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, revealing that President Donald Trump called him and advised him to “never apologize” for the remarks.
On the Tuesday edition of his radio show, the right-wing talker insisted that he was entirely unaware of the firestorm his remarks had created—until the president checked in to see how his treatment for lung cancer was going.
“So, he called back, and he said ‘Rush, I just got to tell you something. Never apologize, don’t ever—’ and I said, ‘For what?’” Limbaugh noted.
“Well, I had no idea this thing had even bubbled up, you know? I’m doing the medical thing that I have to do here. And I wasn’t even aware of this.”
Yes Rush never apologize. just go to your grave an unrepentant douchebag and not care what hateful garbage you left behind.
As for Donald Trump. No one loves you. They merely hate alongside you.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) campaign has refuse to stand behind and support African-American workers in Mississippi trying to organize at a Nissan plant.
Seventeen members of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights were asked to sign on to a letter to Nissan North America citing the National Labor Relations Board’s finding that Nissan has “threatened its employees with termination because of their union activities”
Only the Human Rights Campaign and the National Urban League declined to sign on to the letter that was signed by the NAACP, the National Organization for Women, Unidos USA, the National Council of Churches, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice, among others.
Randi Weingarten, the out lesbian leader of the American Federation of Teachers, said, “It’s deeply disappointing that HRC would not stand for the workers’ rights and affirm that human rights and civil rights are synonymous with workers’ rights, particularly at a time when there is an assault on those we represent. We need to stand to together on behalf of all of us. Unions like my own and so many other labor unions have been soldiers in the fights for LGBTQ priorities for decades. And when it comes to LGBTQ issues, we don’t shy away from championing them regardless of what other feathers it might ruffle. I weighed in strongly with Mary Beth Maxwell of HRC [who served in the Obama administration as the principal deputy assistant secretary for policy at the Department of Labor]… who refused to acknowledge the seriousness of this situation.”
Jerame Davis, of Pride at Work at the AFL-CIO, said, “We’ve been documenting HRC’s less than friendly labor policies for a while. HRC gets most of their money from corporations, and they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them. This wasn’t a big ask. This was almost pro forma — to voluntarily recognize the union after a vote and not to fight it.”
Davis emphasized, “You can still be fired in 28 states for being LGBT. Union-busting is an LGBT issues because the union contract [with a clause banning anti-LGBTQ discrimination] is the only thing that can protect LGBT workers” in many places.
Senate Republicans voted today to advance to floor debate on their efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare with Indianan’s Mike Pence casting the tiebreaking vote.
In a dramatic moment, Sen. John McCain returned from Arizona to applause from fellow senators. He cast a necessary Republican vote for the motion after two GOP senators — Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski — sided with all Democrats in opposition.
As the vote began, protesters in the Senate gallery shouted “kill the bill” and “shame, shame, shame!”
The vote came as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump dared their fellow Republicans to block their seven-year campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.
The next step is floor debate on the legislation to overhaul the Affordable Care Act even though there aren’t any guarantees the votes are there to eventually pass it — and it’s unclear what a final bill will look like.
The vote was up in the air until the last moments, when Several Republican holdouts announced their support, including Sens. Rand Paul, Dean Heller, Rob Portman and Shelley Moore Capitol.
Trump, who has repeatedly said he’s ready to sign any repeal legislation, celebrated the vote, which creates a path to give him the major congressional victory that’s eluded the White House thus far.
“I’m very happy to announce that with zero of the Democrats’ votes, the motion to proceed on health care has moved past and now we move forward toward truly great health care for the American people. We look forward to that. This was a big step,” Trump said at a White House news conference.
“I want to thank Sen. John McCain,” he added. “A very brave man. He made a tough trip to get here.”
Gov. Phil Bryant announced Tuesday via Twitter that he signed had signed the draconian Anti-LGBT House Bill 1523, the religious objections bill into law.
Groups have protested HB1523, which they say will allow discrimination against LGBT people not only by religious organizations but also by businesses and individuals by using religion as a guise for discrimination.. The Mississippi Economic Council also has come out against HB1523.
“As the State Chamber of Commerce for a state that has proven its hospitable and business-friendly approach, MEC opposes efforts that would intentionally or unintentionally prevent Mississippi businesses from implementing and enforcing non-discrimination policies or that would limit diversity and inclusion impacting their customers and employees,” the organization said in a statement. “HB 1523 conflicts with this policy.”

An audio-tape has surfaced of a phone call which happened last week between Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz and a failed GOP nominee for the post of Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor, and anti-gay activist and hate group leader Peter LaBarbera in which Cruz vows he would actively fight against and to reverse gay rights.
On the call Cruz talks about the question about the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage, comparing it to the Court’s ruling on abortion in Roe v. Wade,
“It is the decision reminiscent of Roe v. Wade of a handful of unelected judges arrogantly and lawlessly decreeing the authority to fundamentally change our country and to tear down the foundations of the country,” Cruz added.
He also criticized Republicans who decided to “surrender” to the Supreme Court and treat Obergefell as the “settled law of the land.”
“My response to this decision was that it was illegitimate, it was lawless, it was utterly contrary to the Constitution and that we should fight to defend marriage on every front,” he said, before promoting constitutional amendments to overturn the ruling and put justices up for retention elections, along with legislation “to strip the federal courts of jurisdiction over challenges to marriage.”
On LGBT rights and military service referring the repeal of DADT and the right to serve Cruz commented that he was “just hearing terrible things” about the military being “beset with these new LGBT rules”:
“You look at the military and one of the things we’ve seen is morale in the military under the Obama administration has plummeted, and it has plummeted because you have a commander-in-chief that doesn’t support our soldiers and sailors and airmen and marines, you have a commander-in-chief that doesn’t stand up against our enemies, that won’t even acknowledge or say the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ and you have a commander-in-chief that treats the military as a cauldron for social experimentation. He’s more interested in promoting homosexuality in the military than he is in defeating our enemy.

The reason we have the brave men and women who sign up as service men and women to defend this nation is to stand for our values, to protect our safety and security, to protect innocent men and women and to stand up and defeat our enemies, and I would stop the shameless politicizing of our military to push a left-wing agenda that is contrary to the values and contrary to who we are as an American people and a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values.”
Cruz went on to add that he wanted “to strip the federal courts of jurisdiction over challenges to marriage.” saying “we will not use the federal government to enforce this lawless decision that is a usurpation of the authority of we the people in this country.”
LaBarbera, the D: List hate group leader of president of Americans For Truth about Homosexuality praised Cruz for his anti-gay advocacy, calling him a “real believer”.
Actor Rob Lowe is catching major heat on social media, after tweeting about last Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, which over 125 Paris citizens dead.
Lowe’s Tweets began the way other empathetic actors’ and citizens’ did. “Vive La France! #Paris,” Lowe tweeted. He then called out French President Francois Hollande for closing the country’s borders: “Oh, NOW France closes its borders. #Hollande” Next, he criticized Hollande’s speech about the tragedy, calling it “either the worst translation of an important speech ever, or one of the worst ever given.”. The backlash came quickly and strong, with one Twitter user proclaiming the actor “a piece of lowlife scum.”

The new president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach has refused a request to meet with Russian LGBT activists during his tour of the country less this week but said he’s willing to host a conversation with them at the IOC’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland at a later date.
LGBT activists in Russia initially sent an email requesting a meeting with Bach to the IOC October 13, then sent a formal letter October 22. It was only today that Bach replied stalling the conversation and moving it out of the country of Russia where many of the activists would not have the freedom or funds to travel to.
“LGBT activists in Russia see this decision as yet another indicator that the Sochi Olympics are far from being a platform to uphold and promote the Olympic values,” said Anastasia Smirnova, coordinator and spokeswoman for the Russian LGBT Sport Federation, a member group of the Federation of Gay Games. “It is now impossible to imagine an inclusive event where rights and human dignity of all are respected. The ironic thing is how the UK versions of the show handles these sorts of things…if someone says something that someone else in the house might possibly construe as hateful, racist, bullying, homophobic, etc, Big Brother calls them into the diary room, reads them back verbatim what they said, reminds them of the house rules on hateful speech, gives them a warning and says that if this sort of behavior is repeated, it’s grounds for immediate eviction. And asks them if they understand why this is being done
And then they air the entire hand-slapping process.
But obviously this isn’t UK television because our versions of UK shows as proven by Big Brother usually suck.
