Don Dwyer, the anti-gay Republican Maryland House of Delegate representing District 31 in Anne Arundel County who drunkenly crashed his boat and injured four children last August, is claiming that “family issues” and the fact that some of his Republican colleagues voted for same-sex marriage in that state is what led him to start drinking.
Pressures at home were met with challenges in the State House.
Dwyer says he felt sold out when Dels. Tiffany Alston, Wade Kach and Bob Costa voted for same-sex marriage, an issue he spent years crusading against. Dwyer told reporters one day before the vote that he had enough support to block the bill. Kach, a Republican from Baltimore County, and Alston, a former Democrat from Prince George’s County, voted against the bill in committee. But Kach changed his vote after hearing testimony from gay couples. Alston shifted her vote after her amendment was adopted.
Kach and Costa, of Deale, were the only two House Republicans to vote for the bill. It passed the House by two votes in February.
“I had no time to do anything,” Dwyer said. “Had I known earlier, I could have taken some action.”
It was petitioned to the November ballot and passed by 52 percent of voters state wide. Voters in Dwyer’s district, however, rejected it.
“That betrayal really affected me,” he said. “I was physically ill. You pour your heart into an issue like that and it’s devastating.”

Yesterday Delegate Don Dywer, sitting next to Moo-gie Gallagher opened his testimony with a prayer that God stop the Maryland House from “redefining and destroying forever the God-ordained institution of marriage.” According to Dwyer, House delegates that vote in support of same-sex marriage are subject to arrest for perjury, because saying that gay people deserve equality is a lie and they know it.

Well the HATERS lost out again yesterday when The Maryland House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday rejected a resolution to impeach the state attorney general over an opinion issued this year on gay marriage by a 14-6 vote.
Maryland law defines marriage as between a man and woman, but Attorney General Doug (The Stud)Gansler wrote that the state generally acknowledges couples married elsewhere. Maryland is one of six states that does not specifically address the validity of same-sex marriages from other states.
The impeachment measure was introduced by Delegate Don (Douchebag) Dwyer, R-Anne Arundel, who argued “It is clear that this opinion usurped the authority of the Maryland General Assembly,” Dwyer said while rambelingly explaining the resolution for more than 10 minutes on the House floor and requesting a vote by the full House.
But the House decided it should be referred to the House Judiciary Committee instead. A vote that would have required the entire House of Delegates to vote on the impeachment failed 39-101 after sparking a debate on the issue.

Yesterday, Gansler’s office responded to Dywers stupidity by issuing this statement:: “The Maryland Constitution explicitly states that a ‘court of law’ is the forum for proceedings to remove an Attorney General.”
