 The 50 migrants who were flown in to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, on Wednesday under a program sponsored by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should be considered victims of kidnapping according to Rachel Self an immigration lawyer from Boston. Self claims that migrants “were lied to again and again and fraudulently induced to board the planes.”

Self, said accounts from the migrants “make it clear that they were lied to again and again and fraudulently induced to board the planes.”

Most of the migrants, including children, have fled from crisis-torn Venezuela. While migrants from other countries who have crossed the U.S. southern border this year were quickly expelled under a pandemic-related health order, Venezuelans do not fall under that order..

Self stated that the migrants were promised jobs and housing on their arrival, while Martha’s Vineyard barely has the facilities to accommodate them. DeSantis is said to have allocated $12 million of the state’s budget to transport them outside of Florida. Self said Florida authorities also “very intentionally chose not to call ahead to any single office authority on the island so that even the most basic human needs arrangements could be made, ensuring that no help awaited the migrants at all was the entire point. [snip] We believe they are victims of kidnapping, and the perpetrators of this breathtakingly cruel political stunt should know that it may well result in every individual who was induced onto those planes by fraud becoming eligible for a U visa,” Self wrote in a statement she read to reporters.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, has asked the Department of Justice (DoJ) to investigate whether the “transporting families, including children, across state lines under false pretenses” was illegal and in particular whether it constituted “kidnapping.”\

“Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations that they would be transported to Boston and would receive expedited access to work authorization,” Newsom wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland. “I urge US DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, said on Wednesday that state authorities were looking into whether there was any “criminal liability” involved in the transport of migrants to Chicago, deeming the transport a political “stunt.”: “I’m not going to mince words here: The governor of Texas is forcing on New York and D.C. and Chicago and potentially other places a needlessly last minute and complex process that is a heartless display of politics over people,” Pritzker said, the Chicago-Tribune reports. “Why not give reasonable notice? Why send these folks only to blue cities or blue states? Why isn’t Abbott sending refugees to Mississippi or Oklahoma or Idaho? This is about politics for him.”

Teen artrested in DC gay couple attach

A 15-year-old black teenaged girl has been arrested for the Nov. 22, 2015, violent assault and robbery of a gay man and his partner on board a Green Line Metro train in Washington, DC shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 22, 2015

Calvin Lawrence and his partner, Joseph Coward, became the target of as many as a dozen teenagers on the train car after Cowart tried to stop one of the teens — a young woman — from assaulting and robbing a 14-year-old boy. “By the time I got to him the girl had pounded him in the head,”

According to police, the girl started by mocking Cowart’s disability – he had a stroke – called him slurs and started the beat down.

Calvin Lawrence recounted how the girl attacked Cowart.  All of a sudden out of nowhere 12 teenagers had him down on the ground kicking him in the head, stomping him in the chest,” said Lawrence. “I threw myself into the middle of it,” he said. “I tried to get him up and they stole his iPad and iPhone and all of that.” Lawrence said he, too, was assaulted during the altercation before he managed to pull Cowart away from the melee and the two fled to another train car.

“Police allege that the girl  is the person responsible for first mocking, and then violently kicking and punching an adult male victim who attempted to intervene on behalf of the 14-year-old,” the Metro statement says.

Lawrence said at least one of the attackers called Cowart an anti-gay name at the time Cowart was being punched and kicked by multiple assailants. Metro police did not initially list the incident as a hate crime but a Metro spokesperson said police and prosecutors would revisit that question after an arrest was made.

“The more egregious part was the physical act of them mocking him about his disability,” Lawrence, his partner said. “Both are egregious to me. It needs to be called a hate crime because I heard those words myself.”

Joseph Cowart was taken to Howard University Hospital after Metro police arrived on the scene at the Shaw-Howard station on the night of the incident. Lawrence said Cowart continues to undergo physical therapy for the injuries he sustained in the attack. Under D.C.’s juvenile justice laws, the identity of juveniles charged with crimes must remain confidential and all court proceedings in such cases are closed to the public.

According to latest statistics from the F.B.I over 56.3 percent of hate crime victims are gay males.

Kathy Griffin Lobbying For DADT Repeal For The Human Rights Campaign Calls Congressman A "Big Queen- Has HRC Screwed Up Yet Again?

I love Kathy griffin to death. I really do. And I can’t fault Kathy for being Kathy. She’s funny, over the top and a staunch gay advocate and activist. But surely HRC isn’t stupid enough to think that Kathy would be all business and totally Politically Correct did they? Because today the gay blogosphere is on fire because Kathy in an interview with Roll Call online called the third ranking Democrat and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn — who’s straight who happens to be an ally of the gay community — a “big queen”

Ouch!  One has to wonder why in the hell did HRC pick Kathy to lead thier DADT Repeal Lobby and Rally on Thursday in Washington, DC?

“I’m meeting with this big queen named Jim Clyburn,” [Kathy] Griffin, who is in Washington this week to lobby for an end to the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, told HOH. “I’m going to be the first person to ever walk into his office and go, ‘Hey, girl!’

I think its GREAT that Kathy is taking time to be involved and stand up for us.  She’s freakiun GREAT in my opinion.  But did HRC REALLY think she wasn’t going to be funny or do schtick?  If HRC wants Star Power why aren’t they going after other Hollywood personalities and power players to stand up for us?  And the answer for this one is easy.  FREE and EASY publicity for HRC.  Kathy loves exposure and HRC loves MONEY.  La Diva Griffin will have her D-List cameras in tow tomorrow and HRC has lost so much credibility and donations they are probably hoping that after the show airs (to it’s mostly gay audience)  thatr maybe it might generate some extra donations for the HRC.  Oh and I am sure “Little” Joe Solmonese will probably have a cameo, media whore that he is.
