Well except for all those time where she judged gay people, but those don’t count. I have to actually give David Gregory some credit here for pursuing the question. Calling out Crazy Eyes for saying that gay people are “of Satan” is actually rather journalistic of him. Spin, Michele! Spin!
On Meet the Press this morning, Senator John McCain, America’s number 1 hoimophobic asshole with a Napoleon Complex is very unhappy and stamping his littlle eviul feet that the results of the Pentagon’s DADT study were leaked, because now he’s saying he won’t listen to those results:
“I will listen to our military leaders, and not a study that is leaked.”
McCain also criticizes the study itself, and says it took the wrong approach:
“All four service chiefs are saying we need a thorough and complete study of the effects, not how to implement the repeal, but the effects on morale and battle effectiveness. That’s what I want, and once we get this study, we need to have hearings and we need to examine it and look at whether it’s the kind of study that we wanted. It isn’t in my view.”
David Gregory also asked what he thought of Cindy McCain’s recent statements on DADT. Said McCain: “I respect the first amendment rights of every member of my family.”
That is until after they say it and you brow beat them at home into issuing a statement saying that they don;t mean it and really support you McCain. Isn’tt hat what you mean?
David Gregory on “Meet The Press” today asked Senator John McCain why Admiral Mullen’s statements isn’t enough to satisfy his 2006 statement that if military leaders say the policy should be changed, that’s what should happen.
Grandpa Munster replied: “As I said back then, we need to have a careful examination. And Admiral Mullen was, as quote, speaking personally. Just this week the commandant of the Marine Corps said that he did not want DADT repealed. There are many in the military who do not want to. We are going to go through, hopefully, a year-long study that will, hopefully, also, have the feelings of the men and women who are serving.”
Well McCain there were many in the military that didn’t want African Americans or women to serve in the armed forces but they eventually got over it. Equality is not a popularity contest.
At this poiut I even question why we would want to serve and defened a country who won’t recognize us as equals.
