Ex-Navy SEAL Rear Admiral On DADT Repeal: "If they start breaking out the bows and the earrings in the barracks, that might cause a little trouble"

Today’s DADT Repeal “Douche of the Day” comes to us courtesy of The Washington Times, the right-wing daily that bills itself as an alternative to the Washington Post, (Which is pretty damn right wing itself) in an article the Times published to stir the pot called “Special forces wary of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ repeal” in which it interviews homophobic military officers including (and I kid you not) REAR Adm. George R. Worthington, a former Navy SEAL. who retired  in 1992More spin and homophobia from the right who just can’t admit failure.  And if you think the above quotes are bad you should read the comments from The Washington Posts crackpot fundie readers.

“I don’t think there is going to be that many of them that want to sign up for SEALs anyway because of the closeness and the tightness of the training,” Adm. Worthington said….
“Put the word out,” said Adm. Worthington. “If you hit on somebody, you’re going to get in a fistfight. You may not like it. I just think if they maintain their composure, they don’t bother anybody.”
Said Adm. Worthington: “It just depends on how they comport themselves. If they start breaking out the bows and the earrings in the barracks, that might cause a little trouble. That becomes a good order and discipline sort of thing. The services are going to have to tighten up on regulations.”

It’s over and done haters, get over it.

But then again I suppose a REAR Admiral would know about hitting on guys in the barracks, eh?

Video – CNN Once Again Invites FRC Hate Group Head To Discuss DADT Repeal On The Air

Last night John King and CNN invited Alex Nicholson of  Servicemembers United to talk about the recent DADT Repeal, and once again as a counterpoint CNN invited Peter Sprigg of the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council.

Now I understand that the DADT repeal is news.  But CNN along with other news media stations must begin to show some responsibility with the guests they invite.  To invite the leader of a recognized hate group who is on record  as saying he wants to see gays exported from the country and that gay behavior ought to be illegal to debate something as political and steeped in Civil Rights as the DADT repeal is not only irresponsible but akin to inviting the Grand Imperial Wizard of the KKK on their show as a counterpoint presenter on Black Civil Rights issues.

While I do applaud John King for that control and not allowing Sprigg to go too crazed, Sprigg never should have been the go to person for a debate on this topic and CNN should have looked for a politician or an armed services members against the repeal for the counterpoint.

CNN and other media outlets MUST STOP taking the lazy way out and turning to Perkins, Sprigg and other members of hate groups as counterpoint speakers on LGBT civil rights matters.  By doing so they only enable these hate groups and legitimize them.

Dishonorably Discharged Former U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt on the DADT Repeal: "Homosexual sin will always be a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God"

Lets meet Former U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt was dishonorably discharged from the military after a 2006 court martial because he attended a political protest outside the White House in his uniform. Since then numerous news outlets have noted Klingenschmitt’s lying press releases which say he was ejected for “praying in Jesus’ name.” Klingenschmitt has also issued “imprecatory prayers” calling for God to kill the leaders of the Americans United for Separation of Church and State

Klingenschmitt.is very pissed about yesterday’s Senate vote to repeal DADT and has this to say via Christian Newswire:

“Homosexual sin will always be a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God, an abomination which God condemns and shall punish with everlasting destruction. Even if the Senate had voted 100 to 0 to legalize sin, they could not remove God from His throne of Judgment, before which every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

I hereby call upon the new Congress to never certify that the military is ready to implement repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and instead pass strong laws protecting the rights of Christian troops (especially chaplains) to openly speak their opinions about what the Bible calls sin, to refuse common showers, sleeping quarters and ‘social re-education’ without repercussion, guaranteeing religious freedom even outside of chapel services. If free speech and free religion rights of Christian chaplains and troops are not protected, then the military is not ready to certify or implement repeal, and will quickly begin to persecute good people of Christian conscience.

What a loving man of God.

Klingenschmitt claims to have a network of “125,000 patriot pastors” who will heed his call to deluge the next Congress to block the implementation of the repeal of DADT.

Well I call upon Congress to stop using my tax dollars to pay for somebody else’s religion.  If religious people want preachers available for religious soldiers, let churches pay for them.  They certainly have the money, since they aren’t paying their fair share of taxes.  And I have a network of half a million pissed off drag queens that will not only deluge the next Congress but will give them a FAB makeover to boot!

And by the way Klingenschmitt your face looks like a sphincter.  Coincidence?

Anti-Gay Hate Groups and Christomaniacs Vow To Reverse DADT Repeal In Next Congress

Being led by the Anti Gay Hate Group The Liberty Counsel,  a coalition of right wing extremist christian groups and other anti-gay hate groups today signed on to a letter vowing to force the next Congress to reverse today’s repeal of DADT.

“This action will be overturned in the next Congress because it breaks the bond of trust that must exist between the military and those who command in the Pentagon and Congress. Today’s vote will prove as costly to its proponents as ObamaCare was to its advocates. We promise a full mobilization of faith-based and policy organizations, veterans, and military families in the states of every Senator who voted for repeal of DADT against the advice of our service chiefs and during a time of war. Those Senators – and the Pentagon leaders responsible for this breach of trust – should understand that they will be the object of concerted political action against them.” – Liberty Counsel’s Mat Stave
