Hate Group Uses “Bait & Switch” To Protest South Bend Indiana LGBT Citywide ENDA Bill

There are more battles going on for LGBT equality than those which are constantly reported on the right and left coast.

At a rally on Friday more than 100 people gathered in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center in Downtown South Bend, Indiana to supposedly protest the one year anniversary of  President Obama controversial Affordable Health Care Act.  But instead the protest organized by Tom Uebbing was used as a as a platform to protest a bill in the South Bend Common Council that would give gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered people protection against discrimination in the workplace.  A bill that was originally voted down by the Common Council just last year but is up again for a vote next week.

After briefly touching on the Affordable Health Care Act Uebbing switched gears and stood in front of the gathered crowd saying that the South Bend non-discrimination bill was a part of the “military homosexual movement.” (military?  What an idiot) and that “this issue has some major moral concerns and so it’s not a hostile position, you just can’t address this in a law. It has bad consequences.” before introducing Patrick Mangan, executive director of the Citizens for Community Values of Indiana. who went on to say. “They (LGBT community) don’t qualify (as a protected class) because it is a behavior based identity, it is not an intrinsic identity.” Mangan said.

Note to Mangan:  “Then you (the religious community) must not qualify (as a protected class) then because religion is a behavior based identity, it is not an intrinsic identity.”

What was not mentioned at the protest though is that the Citizens for Community Values is an anti LGBT Religious group with chapters in states throughout the Midwest which receives funding and boasts itself as a proud affiliate of the SLPC officially sanctioned hate group the Family Research Council and that Ubbeling who set up the protest was named the CCV Volunteer of the Year in the past, is a member of the CCV Intercessory Prayer Team and founder of NoSpecialRights.Net

The LGBT anti-discrimination bill goes in front of the South Bend Common Council on Monday. It is expected to be voted on then.

PLEASE contact the South Bend Common Council Members and tell them so say no to hate, bigotry and discrimination and to Vote in favor of the the South Bend non-discrimination bill

***Watch below as Tom Uebbling tries to tie the “slippery slope” of non-discrimination laws to that of same sex marriage.

Ohio’s Same Sex Couples Rate Grows By 50% Between 2000 and 2010

According to the detailed household 2010 Census figures released Thursday same-sex partner households grew at a 51 percent rate in Ohio between the years of 2000 and 2010 and now stands at a total 28,602 couples.

Phil Burress, President of the Cincinnati based anti-gay hate group Citizens for Community Values, disputed the accuracy of the Census numbers.  The CCV  claims to be “proudly affiliated” with the two organiztions that the Southern Law Poverty Center’s officially recognizeshate groups the American Family Association and the Family Research Council.

Burress and his hate group spearheaded the 2004 campaign that led to a constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriages and civil unions in Ohio.

According to Burress , the count is inflated. Until the Census asks if same-sex couples living together are having sex, “we can’t assume they are homosexuals.

Burress also states that he senses little momentum for the gay-rights movement in Ohio.

Football Hall Of Famer Anthony Munoz To Sponsor Anti-Gay Hate Group Fundraiser (And yes, Chick-fil-A too!)

Pro Football’s Hall Of Fame Michael Anthony Muñoz, an offensive tackle who played most of his career for the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals, along with former 2-time Superbowl Pro Football player Jim Breech, and yes of course once again christo-facist Chick-fil-A will be sponsoring a fundraising golf tournament for Ohio’s nationally affiliated hate group, the Citizens for Community Values on September 6, 2011 in Cincinnati, OH.

The CCV which proudly proclaims that it is “officially associated” with the Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, and the American Family Association is one of the many umbrella hate groups of FRC, FOTF, and AFA that fly under the national radar and operate mostly in the Midwest in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, but also has a few chapters throughout the country as far reaching as Connecticut and California.

And while the CCV states that:”CCV definitely is not against homosexuals,” in one paragraph, the next paragraph firmly states that, “We believe that homosexual behavior is unhealthy and destructive to the individual, to families, and thus to communities and to society as a whole.” and that “(you) will join us in resisting, on every front, the organized effort to normalize homosexual behavior in our society”  And also used the Family Research Council hate group’s anti-gay, lie filled propaganda as a brainwashing tool.

While the FRC, FOTF, and the AFA gets the national hate spotlight, its smaller groups that they help control like the CCV breed and hold the Midwest in a vice grip of hatred flying under the radar and enjoying a 501c status because it uses the guise of “pro-family issues” while having Midwest Republicans in their pockets like OH Congressman Jim Jordan and OH Senator Tim Grendall.  These satellite groups of the FRC, FOTF, and the AFA and those who represent them and endorse them must be exposed for the hatemongers that they truly are because while we focus on Tony Perkins, Bryan Fischer, and Matt Barber these are the real culprits who spread the hate on a grassroots level.

These groups should not to be taken lightly and they should not be overlooked.

Ohio GOP “Family Values” State Rep Resigns After Being Busted Drunk w/Hooker and Viagra

Family Values huh?

Radically anti-gay, anti-abortion,  and “Family Values” GOP Ohio State Rep. Robert Mecklenborg, the who was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol with Viagra in his system and a stripper in his car, resigned his position over the weekend.

Good old Family Values Mecklenborg has been endorsed in the past by Cincinnati’s Citizens for Community Values, The Family Research Council and The Eagle Forum in past elections.  mecklenborg also recieved  an “A” from the NRA, a 100% from OhioBusinessVotes.org, and is a staunch supporter of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, also earning him a 100%.

Mecklenborg  gets an “A” in hypocrisy and an “F-” in morality and ethics

Ohio’s Citizens For Community Values Uses Lies and Trans Panic In An Attempt To Defeat Bowling Green, OH

I have warned people so many times about just how dangerous that Cincinnati’s Citizens For Community Values which in reality is the Midwest arm of Focus on the Family and Tony Perkin’s Family Research Council really are,  and the damage that they do.

Now, the CCV is once again  using lies and “trans panic” in an attempt to get voters to go to the polls on November 2nd and repeal Bowling Green’s Ohio Ordinances 7905 and 7906, expanding non-discrimination protections  include: gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, and HIV status among other characteristics. The Unlawful Discrimination Ordinance extends protection in employment, public accommodation and access to public education. The amended Fair Housing Ordinance adds the new classes to existing City law and was passed by Bowling Green City Council in 2009 which the CCV helped get petitioned to be on the ballot this November to be repealed.

As part of the lies that the CCV is using to get people to the Polls to vote no on Ordinances 7905 and 7906 they are using the disguting “trans panic bathroom senario” which is spelled out in this email sent by the CCV President Phil Burress (above pictured left)  that’s being sent to members using trans fear to raise money for this hateful organization..  (Continued after the jump…)

Dear Friends,

Our friends in Bowling Green, Ohio, need our prayers and support. Homosexual activists are once again wanting SPECIAL RIGHTS, but what the Bowling Green City Council did is far beyond anything else I have seen in Ohio and could be coming to your city next.

Here is an example of what could happen:

You and your young daughter, planning for her first day of school, go to the mall to look for clothes. While there, your daughter leaves you to go to the restroom. After just a few moments, she comes back with a frightened look on her face and wants to leave quickly. It is obvious she is very distressed. As a concerned parent, you try to comfort your child, seeking to calm her distress while trying to learn its cause.

Once you leave, as she settles down, you begin to ask questions.

“What happened? Did someone try to grab you?”

“No,” is her reply.

“Did you see something wrong?”  There is a long pause. Finally you ask, “Sweetheart, what is it that made you upset and not want to go back?”

You are caught speechless and bewildered by her reply:

“Mama, there were men in the girls bathroom wearing dresses!”

This is a conversation that parents might have to have with their children in Bowling Green in the near future. When the Bowling Green City Council passed ordinances 7905 and 7906, they created the environment that will make this scenario real in our places of public accommodation.

Imagine having to explain to your young, impressionable child that she has to accept having this situation be a normal part of being in Bowling Green.

Imagine having to continually wonder if your child may be entering a public restroom where an adult of the opposite sex may be inside, all because our elected officials want those with gender identity confusion to feel comfortable using the public restrooms of their preferred gender.

If special interest groups get their way, you won’t have to imagine it; you will have to live it.

Citizens of Bowling Green will have to face investigations and penalties for failure to comply with the ordinances, whether it be in providing public accommodations, hiring, or rental of property.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Concerned citizens of Bowling Green came together and petitioned to have these ordinances put to a public referendum. They agreed and signed the petitions to allow the referendum to move forward.

Now we have to make sure we educate and encourage Bowling Green voters to come to the polls on November 2nd and vote “NO” on Ordinances 7905 and 7906.

It is vital that we are able to educate the voters of Bowling Green on the dangers of having these ordinances go into law, and to encourage and secure enough voters so that these ordinances can be overturned.

We can be successful in defeating these ordinances if you are willing to join us in this effort.

A majority “NO” vote on November 2nd will cancel these ordinances and send a strong message to the Bowling Green City Council that their community does not want to have outside special interests from New York attempting to frame their laws so that they can move their homosexual agenda forward.

Your involvement and support will be the key to success. Will you please consider making a contribution to our effort of $25, $50, or even $100 or more to help them make sure that their children will not have to face the scenario described in the opening of this letter?

You can send your tax deductible gift to Citizens for Community Values, ——————.. Let’s help make Bowling Green a better place to live, work and raise a family. Will you stand with us for Equal Rights, Not Special Rights, for all of Bowling Green’s citizens?

Sincerely,

Phil Burress
President
Citizens for Community Values

This is NOT a “bathroom bill” and Buress’s letter is nothing more than blatant fear-mongering to defeat Ordinances 7905 and 7906 and raise some quick “hate cash” . Personally, I don’t spend time checking out other people’s private parts in public restrooms. Unless they are cute guys.  What REALLY creeps me out is when fathers bring their young daughters into Men’s restrooms because they are afraid to leave them outside  Now thats CREEPY.

The scary bathroom trick is the same one that was used in the 1930s to warn against “Bolsheviks breeding in your washroom.” Opponents of the Equal Rights Amendment trotted out the old saw again in 1970s, warning that equal rights would lead to men and women sharing public bathrooms.

Christomaniacs like the CCV point to the potential danger of crossdressed and/or trans women predators in public restrooms, and yet the folks who purport that anti-trans Bathroom scare can’t point to any examples of trans people ever being involved in anything like that and have to use some false scenario’s/

Well lets use some REAL scenario’s to why maybe Phil Buress, Tony Perkin’s The CCV, and Christomaniacs of his ilk should not be able to use public restrooms.

The Los Angeles Times had a story yesterday (November 2, 2009) entitled Clerk at religious bookstore arrested on peeping charge

A clerk at a Christian bookstore in Simi Valley was arrested on suspicion of peeping after Simi Valley police found a video camera hidden in a bathroom at the store, authorities said today.

Officers were called to the Family Christian Book Store in the 2900 block of Cochran Street on Sunday afternoon after a 40-year-old woman and her husband reported finding the video camera, said Simi Valley Police Sgt. Dwight Thompson.   After examining the video, investigators determined that 28-year-old Joseph Moreaux had gone to the restroom just before the victim to hide the camera and record her while she was inside…

And, this isn’t a particularly new story when it comes to piety. Remember October 20th’s Protect Us From The Male, CVS Managers Who Support Keeping Trans Women Out Of Women’s Restrooms?

The CVS Pharmacy manager who allegedly admitted Friday to filming women in his store’s bathroom was an active participant in the 2008 charter amendment to “keep men out of women’s restrooms.”

Jonathan Matheny, 27, was charged with one count of video voyeurism after a customer told police she had discovered a cell phone equipped with a camera under a pile of tissues in the CVS bathroom at 125 S.W. 34th St.

If you want to talk about predatory behavior lets talk about the Christomaniacs.  The ones who like and fear monger against the LGBT Community and our trans brothers and sisters.

People of Bowling Green   DO NOT FALL FOR THESE LIES. VOTES YES ON ORDINANCES 7905 and 7906.  And send a message to the CCV that fear mongering and anti LGBT hate is WRONG

And people of Ohio and the Midwest do not trust or support the Citizens for Community Values.  They are evil and perverted Christians who will do their best to spread hatred and homophobia for fun and profit.  Do not trust them and most of all  not discount them or take them lightly.  They are dangerous and need to be stopped.

WANTED FOR MURDER: Phil Burress and "The Citizens For Community Values" of Ohio

I have written before about Phil Burress (pictured left) and Cincinnati,Oho based “Citizens for CommunityValues”   who are one of the most dangerous anti-gay hate groups in the Midwest and  are officially associated with Focus on the Family, The Family Research Council and the American family Association.  They have been directly linked to helping in the passage of not only the Ohio DOMA law but also passage of the Federal DOMA Law.  The President of their sister organization in California was one of the leaders for “Yes on 8”,  they have most Republican politicians in the Ohio, Indianna, and Kentucky region in their pockets and have fought to repeal anti-gay discrimination laws and human rights ordinances throughout the state of Ohio.

Phil Burress and the CCV seem to be able to fly under the radar in the rest of the county outside the Midwest because the group hides behind their anti-pornography campaign” and they localize their anti-gay hate movement to the Midwest.  but one trip to their website spells out bluntly where they stand on LGBT individuals. (All in the name of Christ, of course)

Members of The National Pro-Family Forum on Homosexuality – This group includes representatives from most of the national pro-family organizations and meets every three months, usually in Washington, D.C. The group’s first organized effort was the National Campaign to Protect Marriage that mobilized national and local pro-family leaders in all 50 states to work together to defend traditional “one man-one woman” marriage. However, their major achievement has been The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and other similar laws that were passed in 36 states since 1996. Another major achievement of this forum was the “Truth in Love” full-page ad and campaign printed in many major newspapers and on TV

Even more alarming than the destructive effect upon the individual is the threat that the activists’ agenda poses upon society as a whole. Again we repeat, the traditional family-one father, one mother, and their natural or adopted children-is the basic building block of society. Not just our society, but society as a whole. The history of civilization proves that when a particular society strays from this norm, that society deteriorates.

Homosexual activists are not simply seeking acceptance of individuals who engage in homosexual behavior. Rather, the primary, clearly stated focus of their agenda is normalization, complete social acceptance, of homosexual relationships and the undermining of the traditional family. Just as we cannot stand by silently and watch individuals lured into a destructive lifestyle, we also cannot stand by silently and watch militant activists chip away at the very foundation of our cultural heritage and our Judeo-Christian belief system.

One very important part of the homosexual activists’ agenda is to raise the awareness of homosexuality, or simply stated, to talk about homosexuality frequently and loudly. In virtually every area of our lives, the homosexual activists have been successful in raising the homosexual issue. Every one of us has been forced to be a part of the argument regarding homosexuality and marriage; homosexuality and adoption; homosexuality and civil rights; homosexuality and minority status; homosexuality and the armed forces.

Suicide and bullying rates on LGBT teens as well as harassment and violence against LGBT adultss are much higher in the Midwest.  Recently there has been 4 teen suicides in just ONE Ohio school alone due to bullying and anti-gay harassment. that has not been privy to the national spotlight.

People like Burress and the CCV who preach intolerance and hate in the name of God are those who are responsible for these recent deaths.  They teach hate nothing more, nothing less and a spotlight must be shone upon them and they must be outed across the nation for the hateful despicable people that they really are and they must be stopped.  .They have blood on their hands, and much more than that of the four teens at that Ohio School.  By preaching their vile message they have become accessories to murder and violence to LGBT teens and adults throughout the Midwest and the country.

They must be held responsible and they must be stopped before more blood is shed and before more Innocent lives are lost.

*You can watch a propaganda video from the CCV called “168 days – A Miracle” where they brag about how they helped with the Federal DOMA laws and made Ohio have the toughest DOMA laws in the country after the jump.

EXCLUSIVE: Read & Watch Focus on the Family’s Propaganda Newsletter and Video About The Overtuning Of Prop 8 In California

Like the good little “radical gay activist”  blogger I am.  I have myself placed myself on various anti-gay groups mailing lists under different names and emails so I can look inside thier heads.  (Which believe me is always a scary place and makes me want to scrub my brian with bleach afterwards)  And today I hit paydirt.

Well this showed up in my Inbox today from my Regional “Christomaniacs” (<— Look I’m Sarah Palin!  I made a new word) Anti-Gay Religious Group “The Citizens For Community Values in Ohio who are hawking this “Focus on the Family” propaganda to it’s members here and is very proud of the fact that the CCV’s Sister Organization in California “The California Family Council” is run by Ron Prentice who is also Chairman of ProtectMarriage.com, the committee behind Prop 8 and has been accused of laundering monies and pocketin charitable donations. And then tried to dicredit the reporter who broke the story by having a Private Investorgator dif up dirt on him.

I will be doing more on this story in the future.

But for now Read and Watch The Focus on the Family Newletter and Video that was sent out by the CCV of Ohio after the jump…….

Cincinnati Ohio’s Very Own Anti-Gay Hate Group, "The Citizens For Community Values" Plugs NOM’s HATE-APOLOOZA Tour And Begs For Donations…As Usual

It’s not like I am or anyone should be shocked that “The Citizens For CommunityValues“, Ohio’s Number 1 a bullet (and I wish literally) anti-gay hate group is pushing The National Organization For Marriage’s “One Man, One Woman” HATE-APOLOOZA Tour. After all the CCV is the group that calls Tony Perkin’s of The Family Research Center “a good friend”,and is conneted to “Focus on the Family” and is responsible for Ohio having one of the WORST DOMA laws on the books statewise.

I will award 20 Gay Points to whoever brings me some prosecutable proof on the CCV and it’s President Phil Burress or it’s founding member Chris Finney.

C’mon it can’t be that hard and somebody must know something?

Over 3000+ Attend Downtown Cincinnati Gay Pride Celebration Despite Hysterical Warnings By Ohio’s Biggest Anti-Gay Hate Group

Cincinnati Pride 2010 which for the first time in 8 years moved back to Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati was a rousing success drawing an estimated 3,000 people who came to celebrate freedom and independence, for their country and their lifestyle despite attacks from Phil Burress, a self-described former porn addict turned Christian fundamentalist crusader against pornography and the “gay agenda,” and Ohio’s largest anti-gay “christian” group The Citizens for Community Values which has EXTREMELY close ties to James Dobson’s Foucus on the Family  and officially recognized “hate group” by the Southern Law Poverty Center The Family Research Association which is led by extreme homophobe Tony Perkins.

In the days perceding Cincinnati Pride Burress, President of Citizens for Community Values, issued an hysterical “action alert,” warning his membership of the danger of “homosexual activists” taking to the streets of downtown Cincinnati with their “deviant behavior” in a sinful celebration of “sexual appetite.” (in which of course he pleaded for donations to fight the “gay scourge”) and . during an interview with a local paper, he warned families planning to visit downtown Cincinnati on the 4th, to be on the lookout for gay parade attendees having sexual intercourse out in the open ont the street and topless lesbian women!  (If only!)

Phil Burress has been peddling gay hate since the 90s, with an obsessive fervor that only a former porn addict can muster. In 1993, Burress launched a successful campaign to overturn Cincinnati’s anti-discrimination protections for sexual orientation. And Burress and his group was at the forefront of helping draft and push Ohio’s 2004 amendment banning gay marriage which is one of the worst in the country and which not only bans gay marriage but also bans any type of “marriage rights and benefits” to also any couple gay or straight who enter into a domestic partnership or civil union.

But fortunately there are some REAL human beings in Cincinnati also.

Katie Ambrogi, 31, of Blue Ash watched the 40-minute parade with her husband and three children.  “We just like equality for everybody. Let the kids see that there are differences. People are the same,” Ambrogi said. How did the kids respond to seeing men in huge hair, high heels and flamboyant dresses or the shirtless elves on a Christmas float in 90-degree temperature with an elf singing “Walking in a Winter Wonderland”?  “They’re beautiful people and kids should see that,” Ambrogi said with a smile.

Thank you Katie!

Thnaks to you your children might be the last chance that Cincinnati, Ohio ever has to coming into the twenty first century and leaving Mr. Buress and the CCV back in 1943 Nazi Germany where they belong
