Indiana Church Kicked Out of Building For Posting LGBT Hate Sign

The Remnant Fellowship Church of Auburn, Indiana has been kicked out of its building after posting a sign in front that said “LGBTQ is a hate crime.”

NewsChannel 15 Indiana the sign sparked outrage among members of the community after many people drove by it., A statement from church elder Robert Sturges, said, “We’re trying to reach a certain group of people. They’re being told in our culture that homosexuality, transvestites, lesbianism and sexual immorality is ok. But the Bible clearly says that those who practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. In fact, it warns them that the wrath of God will abide upon them. And in the judgment, they will be lost and they will be sent to hell forever. We believe that. That’s our faith.”

Sturges said he wants to remind people who talk about tolerance that his church believes the Bible and they are not afraid to stand firm in their beliefs.

“We do love them,” Sturges said. “But we want to warn them that they are headed toward a cliff and if they keep going that way, they’ll be destroyed. And that is what the sign is about.

An unnamed church member told Raw Story that the congregation has been “evicted” and that they are “looking for another building.”

After the sign caused so much controversy, Kristin Russell of Indiana University posted on her Facebook page that she went to the church and rearranged the letters to say, “Stay open minded,”

“It was unacceptable and needed to be changed, so I took matters into my own hands and did just that,” she said.

GOP Introduces The “First Amendment Defense Act” (AGAIN) That Will Make LGBT Discrimination Legal

On Thursday Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, introduced the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), a bill that, if passed, would make it legal for private individuals and businesses to discriminate against LGBT Americans by citing religious objections.

 The proposed law stipulates that the Federal Government cannot penalize through “discriminatory action” any individual who “speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction that marriage is or should be recognized as a union of one man and one woman, or two individuals as recognized under Federal law, or that sexual relationship outside marriage are improper.”

 The First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) is a draconian policy advocated by conservative Christian Nationalist extremists eager to install a de facto Christian theocracy. The legislation is designed to be a vehicle to legally discriminate against those who do not share their “Christian” values.

FADA explicitly promotes anti-LGBT discrimination by providing special protections for people who wish to claim their religious faith prohibits them from performing certain acts, including baking a cake for a same-sex wedding, or allowing a child to be adopted by a same-sex couple.

FADA would also allow discrimination against single mothers, unwed couples, interfaith couples, and interracial couples

During his 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump pledged his support for the First Amendment Defense Act to reinforce his position among evangelicals extremist.

Mike Huckabee “Resigns” From Country Music Association Foundation Board After Major Backlash

Former Arkansas Governor and anti-LGBT “Christian Nationalist”  Mike Huckabee resigned on Thursday from the Country Music Association Foundation board of directors after criticism from multiple members of the country music industry. 

Huckabee held the position for less than a week.

The announcement follows pointed criticism from members of the country music industry, as well as fans — much of it stemming from Huckabee’s stance on LGBT issues.

Jason Owen, co-president of Monument Records and owner at Sandbox Entertainment, called the appointment a “grossly offensive decision” in an email to the association’s CEO Sarah Trahern and CMA Foundation executive Tiffany Kerns. 

Owen wrote that due to Huckabee’s election to the CMA Foundation’s board, neither his companies nor anyone they represent would continue to support the foundation.

Owen and his husband, Sam, are fathers to a young son and are expecting twins. Owen said that Huckabee’s stance on the LGBT community “made it clear my family is not welcome in his America.”

Huckabee speaks of the sort of things that would suggest my family is morally beneath his and uses language that has a profoundly negative impact upon young people all across this country,” he added. “Not to mention how harmful and damaging his deep involvement with the NRA is. What a shameful choice.”

The CMA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Country Music Association, devoted to growing and supporting music education programs across the country. Its board consists of 12 members. Huckabee’s inclusion on the board had sparked hundreds of comments from outraged fans on social media.

In Huckabee’s letter of resignation he wrote:

I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained.  

I’m somewhat flattered to be of such consequence when all I thought I was doing was voluntarily serving on a non-profit board without pay in order to (continue) my decades of advocacy for the arts and especially music.”

Poor bullied Mike Huckabee.

The Texas Governor race to replace Greg Abbott  already has a number of candidates who plan to run in the primaries. While most are Democrats, Abbott himself will face a Republican primary challenger in Larry SECEDE Kilgore. (Yes. His middle name is actually “SECEDE.” So that says a lot right there.)

Kilgore,  an extreme right-wing Christian Nationalist says he won’t cut off his Pappy Yokum beard off “until Texas has laws that can protect unborn children.” He also believes gay people (and other “sinners”) should be executed because the Bible demands it.

“I’d gladly execute a convicted adulterer, sodomite or bestialiter. Biblical law is a blessin.” Kilgore tweeted on December 22nd. 

Kilgore’s platform also includes the abolition of public schools, ending welfare and social security, and replacing prisons with public shaming and/or the death penalty.

Kilgore, whose motto was “Secession! All other issues can be dealt with later” has never won a Republican primary. He ran for governor in 2006 and came second in the Republican primary behind Governor Rick Perry with 50,119 votes.

He’s an ardent supporter of Donald Trump and Mike Pence and also believes that Abraham Lincoln was the American equivalent of Adolf Hitler.

What a scary fucking world we live in.

 

 

The Bitch Is Back! – Kentucky Anti-Gay Marriage Clerk Kim Davis To Run For Reelection

The Kentucky county clerk who drew worldwide attention for her refusal to issue marriage licenses to gay couples two years ago will run for re-election next year, her attorney said on Tuesday.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis will run to retain her seat in 2018 despite suggestions from some people that she run for a higher local or statewide political position, said Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel.

Davis’ case in 2015 drew hundreds of protesters and supporters to her office in Morehead, in rural eastern Kentucky. While she was in jail, then-Republican presidential candidates Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz visited her.

Less than a month after she was released from jail, Davis, who won election to the office in 2014 as a Democrat, changed her affiliation to the Republican Party. – via Reuters

Mat Staver, of the anti-gay hate group and Christian Nationalist law firm the Liberty Counsel, which represented Davis during Davis’ blatant disregard of the law in the name of “Jeebus”confirmed Tuesday that she will seek a second term. He said Davis was unavailable for comment because of a medical procedure.

“Christian” radio host Rick Wiles said on his “TruNews” broadcast recently reported that the Las Vegas shooting was the result of a “gay/lesbian Nazi regime.”

“We’re in a fascist Nazi police state, there will be a day that they tell law enforcement [officers] to execute your children right in front of you and they will do it.

America has become a Nazi state. The deep state is a Nazi state, That is why Campos ( The gay Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos,) appeared on a daytime talk show hosted by a fast-talking, dancing comedienne, and, let me add, a lesbian, (Ellen DeGeneres) because this Nazi regime is a gay/lesbian Nazi regime, just like Nazis in Hitler’s day. Wiles went on to say that Campos spoke with Ellen was because the company overseeing Mandalay Bay was afraid he’d “spill the beans about the shooting timeline if he were grilled by real journalists.” That would give away the secret.”

Well its certainly no secret that Wiles is batshit crazy.  In the past has stated that  Target’s decision to remove gender labeling from their toy section and to allow trans persons to use the restroom that conforms to their gender will directly lead to nuclear war with Russia. He has also suggested that Vladimir Putin will nuke America and cause a ‘nuclear holocaust’ due to gay rights in America and has warned, in the aftermath of Obergefell v. Hodges, that the U.S. will invade third world countries and force them to accept homosexuality.

Donald Trump States In Meeting That Mike Pence “wants to hang” all gay people

The New Yorker reports that  Donald Trump in the past has “joked” that Vice President “wants to hang” all gay people.

Trump jabbed at Pence after a legal scholar told the pair that if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, many states would probably legalize abortion.

You see?” Trump reportedly said to Pence. “You’ve wasted all this time and energy on it, and it’s not going to end abortion anyway.”

And when the meeting began to focus on gay rights, Trump reportedly pointed to Pence, joking, “Don’t ask that guy — he wants to hang them all!”

One Trump campaign staffer also told The New Yorker that Trump used to ask people leaving meetings with Pence, “Did Mike make you pray?”

So Donald Trump “jokes” about the number 2 person in the US wanting to hang some of its own citizens because of his religious views. There is no part of that that is funny. Especially since its probably true.

Via Family Research Council hate group President Tony Perkins:

Today, the Department of Justice (DOJ), issued guidance directing federal agencies to respect religious freedom.

As you may remember, President Trump issued an executive order on May 4 making clear that the administration will pursue policies that “protect and vigorously promote religious liberty ” and thus directing the DOJ to issue guidelines ensuring religious liberty is protected.

Today that guidance was issued and another step was taken toward undoing the anti-faith policies of the Obama administration.

President Trump and now the Department of Justice are placing federal government agencies on notice: you will not only respect the freedom of every American to believe, but the free exercise of religion.

Today, Family Research Council is launching a hotline for federal employees, contractors and citizens who believe that they have suffered discrimination in the workplace based on their religious beliefs or practices. The ‘Free to Believe’ hotline will help ensure that no one will have to choose between their livelihood and their faith.
