When asked about her early days in showbiz recently on The Nerdist podcast hosted by super cute SuperNerd actor/comedienne Chris Hardwick, Joan Rivers praised her gay audience to high heavens saying:
“I would run down the street and do a single at a place called The Duplex [with] Woody Allen, Barbara Streisand and a guy named Barry Dennen… all on the same bill, all written in pencil ’cause they didn’t know how long you were gonna stay.
A lot of gay boys came in. Gay men were the first ones that laughed… God bless gay audiences. [They’re] the most loyal to a woman. You know, they still come around. God bless them.”
Hardwick echoed her sentiments about gay men once saying :“I wish I was cool enough to be gay,” in response to a question about his own sexuality. (Episode no. 246, starting about 14:30.)
We wish you were gay too Chris. Because believe me, we gaygeeks would be all over your cute little Nerdist ass like a pristine copy of Action Comics Number 1 in which Superman was debuted.
And we wouldn’t be worrying about creasing or staining pages thats for sure!
