Comedian Chelsea Handler posted a photo of her and two friends holding Nordstrom shopping bags outside the White House after Trump called out the retailer for dropping Ivanka Trump’s collection for the new season.
“Took my gay and Muslim friend to Nordstrom and then to the White House to pay our respects,” Handler wrote on Facebook. She posted another pic to Instagram with the caption, “A Jew and a Gay went to pick a Muslim up from the airport, headed straight to Nordstrom, and then headed over to @whitehouse to give our thanks!”
Adorable out L.A. Galaxy soccer player Robbie Rogers stopped by Chelsea Lately on Thursday and talked about his coming out, the Sochi Winter Olympics and what its like showering with a soccer team.
“The guys are nothing but supportive.” Robbie said. “They make jokes when we’re in the shower, if the lights are off they’ll be like, ‘I wonder why the lights are off, you know, Robbie’s coming in the shower.'”
While Robbie is incredibly brave in his coming out (and totally cute) I disagree with him completely about boycotting the Olympics. He’s an athlete and they love the sports limelight. To me its though I find the “they trained so hard” argument incredibly selfish. That a few hundred athletes chance at competing for an Olympic medal trumps the human rights, lives and safety of gay men and women in Russia is mind boggling and extremely sad.
Bill Maher was the spotlight guest on Chelsea Lately last night and Maher took on gay sex obsessed Rick Santorum, religious confusilated Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and talked about his new book The New, New Rules.
Chelsea Handler, the straight talking, gay friendly, hard drinking star of “E” networks talk show “Late Night With Chelsea Handler” (which my STR8 Twitter crush the extremely talented and funny Jeff Wild aka @jiffywild on Twitter is a writer and round table guest on) will have her own NBC sitcom based on her memoir “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea,”
NBC has released a long teaser trailer, (posted above) and interestingly Laura Preppon of “That 70’s Show” will be playing “younger” Chelsea and Handler will be playing the role of her pregnant born-again Christian sister Sloane.
“Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea,” isn’t on the NBC line-up yet for next fall. But expect it if not in September then at least as a mid-season replacement.
* The iPhone app “Gay New York: 101 Can’t-Miss Place,” was rejected by Apple because, it features such gay things about New York. Like go-go boys, a snapshot of a naked gay sculpture, and a picture of Sarah Palin making an ugly face. So the app’s creator, travel writer Anthony Grant, manage to run afoul of Apple’s rules about naked guys, it violated its “don’t make fun of public figures” rules. Which is to say: Authentic apps about gay New York City will never be accepted
* “Maybe gay” Marcel Vigneron, that guy everyone hated from Top Chef Season 2, (Except me I thought he was kinda cute in a geeky-deeky way) will be hosting the much-rumored Syfy Channel cooking show, now called Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen. I’m happy that Wolverine’s cute baby brother got a gig. Perhaps I can get my well endowed but unfortunately straight cyberbud (And AWESOME chef) Stefan Richter to set Marcel and me up? * Disney has added a male fairy (Sparrow Man) to its popular online world of Pixie Hollow! His name is Slate (How butch!) — and he’s the joint’s first “guy”.
