“I was asked by a viewer whether she had a right to leave her church because she had been asked to transport an elderly man who had AIDS and about whose condition she had not been informed. My advice was that the risk of contagion in those circumstances was quite low and that she should continue to attend the church and not worry about the incident.
In my own experience, our organization sponsored a meeting years ago in San Francisco where trained security officers warned me about shaking hands because, in those days, certain AIDS-infected activists were deliberately trying to infect people like me by virtue of rings which would cut fingers and transfer blood.
I regret that my remarks had been misunderstood, but this often happens because people do not listen to the context of remarks which are being said. In no wise (sic) were my remarks meant as an indictment of the homosexual community or, for that fact, to those infected with this dreadful disease.” – Pat Robertson, in a statement emailed by his head publicist for the 700 Club.
There is absolutely no way that Robertson’s original comment could have been misinterpreted.
By Robertson using the excuse that he wasn’t spreading a vicious, disgusting lie about people currently infected with AIDS but was spreading a vicious, disgusting lie about people who were infected with AIDS years ago again is disgusting and proves that he’s well aware that it is indeed a hateful piece of anti-gay propaganda land has no problem using it until caught.
Now here’s a statement that’s sure to push Bryan Fischer much deeper into the end of the insanity pool.
Recently during Pat Robertson’s The 700 Club show segment called Bring It Online a viewer asked Robertson if it was wrong to refer to male to female transgender individual as “she”. While not directly answering the question Robertson’s reply while not educated on the issue was quite a surprise.
“I don’t understand all that, but I think they are men who are in a woman’s body. It’s very rare, but it’s true. [snip] I don’t think there’s any sin associated with that. I don’t condemn anybody for doing that. [snip] It’s not for you to decide or to judge.”
WOW. Just WOW!
he space time continuum must have been shattered because Pat Robertson was talking almost reasonably.
KY Senator Rand Paul: The GOP Will Help Keep Gay Marriage Illegal On State Levels For Decades – by Will Kohler
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appreared on the Christian Broadcast Network and let it be known in not so many words that since the GOP and “religious conservatives” can’t win a marriage battle at the federal level, the only change they have to keep the “traditional” marriage anti-gay debate alive is to keep marriage at the state level illegal and that certain states (with the GOP’s help of course) will remain anti-gay for a very long time:
“I think right now if we say we’re only going to [have] a federally mandated one man, one woman marriage, we’re going to lose that battle because the country is going the other way right now. If we’re to say each state can decide, I think a good 25, 30 states still do believe in traditional marriage, and maybe we allow that debate to go on for another couple of decades and see if we can still win back the hearts and minds of people.”
It’s all part of the excessive concept of American federalism which the GOP and hillbilly troglodytes like Paul use to treat the states as independent colonies instead of subdivisions of one country with limited power. Back in the 18th century that may have made sense, but today it’s simply impractical and unworkable and the GOP has siezed onto it and uses it only to push their hateful and evil agenda.
So people don’t be fooled by the one or two decent GOP political members that support LGBT equality and that Gay Inc. crows about. Because that is all all there is, only one or two.
THIS is the mindset of the GOP and they will never give up until we either fully expose them for the evil hateful bastards they really are or we destroy them and thier politcal party.
The Christian Broadcast Network along with all the other small minded, hateful, Christofacist out there are going loonytoons over the fact that Dancing With The Stars has included transgendered Chaz Bono to next seasonn’s cast.
DTWS producer Conrad Green released this statement which said, “I think we’ve had three gay or transgender contestants out of about 120 on the show, so what we’re really doing is reflecting some of the makeup of this vast array of people that make up American society.”
Let me remind everyone that these are the same “christian” fucktards who LOVED Dancing with the Stars when they had unwed teenage slut mother Bristol Palin and convicted money-laundering felon Tom Delay
Besides if I were them I’d be more worried about the harm that Rob Kardashian’s bubble-butt is going to cause to thier children than Chaz Bono
Matt Philvin of the “Culture and Media Institute” which focuses on promoting what it believes to be traditional values in American culture and beliefs and was astroturfed and founded by Brett Bozell in October 2006 as a division of the Media Research Center says that television is “desensitizing” childing by depicting gays and lesbians on television.
Pilvin had nothing to say about how the depiction of war, murder, rape, and so on affects and harms children. Just the depiction of loving gay people.
Rep. Fortney Stark (D-CA) introduced the “Every Child Deserves a Family Act” (H.R. 1681) on the 3rd of May. The Act’s intent? “To prohibit discrimination in adoption or foster care placements based on the sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status of any prospective adoptive or foster parent, or the sexual orientation or gender identity of the child involved.”
And, in predicable fashion the Christo-Fascist Zombie Brigade is attacking it as some evil, terrorist plot against the family. Along those lines, the Christianist Hate Broadcast Network hosts hate-monger Chuck Donovan to lament the evils of wanting to make sure children have actual families, not “Families” in the right-wing Christianist meme.
