Gay History – February 4: Maria Schneider Swings, Closeted GOP Congressman BUSTED, & Liberace Tinkles The Keys One Last Time

1973: Twenty year old French actress and star of the The Last Tango in ParisMaria Schneider, admits to the New York Times that she is bisexual, stating “I’ve had quite a few lovers for my age. More men than women . . . women I love more for beauty than for sex.  Men I love for grace and intelligence.”

In early 1976, Schneider abandoned the film set of Caligula and checked herself into a mental hospital in Rome for several days to be with her lover, photographer Joan Townsend.] This, coupled with her refusal to perform nude, led to Schneider’s dismissal and she was replaced by Teresa Ann Savoy.

Maria Schneider died from cancer on February 3, 2011 at age 58.

1981: Jon Hinson (R-Mississippi) an extremely conservative congressman is arrested for performing an act of “oral sodomy” with a twenty-eight-year-old man in the rest room of a House of Representatives office building.  He was taken into custody along with a male employee of the Library of Congress.

He pleads no contest and is given a thirty-day suspended sentence.  He resigns two months later.

It also becomes known that Hinson also survived a 1977 fire that killed nine people at the Cinema Follies, a Washington theater that catered to a gay clientele. while he was an aide for then Republican Thad Cochran. He was rescued from under a pile of bodies — one of only four men who survived.

After his resignation he publicly acknowledged his homosexuality and became active in gay political issues. Hinson fought against the ban on homosexuals in the military and was a founder of the Fairfax Lesbian and Gay Citizens Association in Fairfax County, VA before his death from respiratory failure resulting from AIDS in July 1995

1987: Liberace dies at the age of 62 in Palm Springs from AIDS.  Just two weeks earlier his publicists had denied a Las Vegas Sun story which claimed he had the disease. He is buried in Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Cemetery.

What can I say about the old queen that has not already been said in Behind The Candelabra.

2004: The Massachusetts high court rules that only full, equal marriage rights for gay couples, not civil unions, would be constitutional. “The history of our nation has demonstrated that separate is seldom, if ever, equal,” an advisory opinion from the four justices who ruled in favor of gay marriage stated. A bill creating only civil unions, not full marriage rights, would be “unconstitutional, inferior, and discriminatory status for same-sex couples.”

Original Stonewall Participant and Longtime Gay Activist Fred Sargeant Attacked By Trans Activist @ Burlington Pride

Original Stonewall Participant and Longtime Gay Activist Fred Sargeant Attacked By Gender Identity/Trans Activist @ Burlington Pride

Fred Sargent is an original. He is one of NYC’s original gay activist. He alongside with boyfriend Craig Rodwell and others started NYC PRIDE (Christopher Street Liberation Day Protest) A member of GLF, GAA and almost any other homophile organization Sargent participated in the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City (verified unlike some others) And to this day he continues to fight. Just now a bit differently.

Sargeant, 74, was attacked after holding a sign with a red line through the phrases “Woman Face” and “Black Face” and “Gay Not Queer” at the 39th Burlington Pride Parade in Vermont.

Yes. Vermont.

Sargeant is against the recent “gender” ideology movement’ which he says is “homophobic and exclusive.” and some say are out of control. Especially the UK version of the Human Rights Campaign called “Stonewall”

Out of control perhaps by assaulting a 74 year old man at PRIDE?

Describing the incident on his Facebook account, Sargeant said, “Mugged at Burlington Pride. So, I went to Pride to protest their misogyny, homophobia, exclusionary policies and divisiveness. I was met by screaming, multiple assaults, ageist comments, shoving, slaps to the back of my head, pouring coffee on me and repeated attempts to steal my signs Being unsuccessful in their attempts to disrupt my protest and drive me away, the mob pushed me to the ground as the parade ended, further injuring me.”

Via Gaynrd.com: This isn’t the first time that lesbians and gays have faced vitriol from trans activists at Pride. Lesbians have been intimidated, shouted at, surrounded and unceremoniously thrown out of Pride events in London and Cardiff. In Paris, smoke flares were thrown at lesbians who insisted that the definition of lesbian doesn’t include people with male bodies. Sargeant is also a target because he is able to call out trans activists for their attempts to rewrite gay history. It is now fashionable to erase boring old gays and foreground trans activists instead. For instance, it is now claimed that the pivotal role at the Stonewall riots was played not by gay people, but by ‘trans’ activist Marsha P Johnson. This is despite Johnson being on the record admitting that he was actually a drag queen and not trans, and that other than being a part of the hundreds and hundreds of rioters that night he played no significant part in the events.  But it is worthy in itself that Johnson was there and in the thick of it with 100’s of others

But. Marsha Johnson (or Syliva Rivera) did not start or lead the Stonewall Riots. AND THAT IS A FACT,

Differing opinions and ideologies should not be met with violence within our community. Go fight a Republican. Someone who REALY hurts you. But the fact that they attacked a 74 year old man gay man, be he a longtime gay activist or not is vile and disgusting. It also proves many of the negative things said about the trans movement right now.

Oh. And don’t forget about Bette!

Gay History: Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954)

Gay History: – Bisexual Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo Born (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954)

Bisexual Mexican artist Frida Kahlo has become not only an international icon for the power and intensity of her art, but also for the extraordinary suffering that she endured in life.

Born in Mexico on July 6, 1907 to a German photographer and his Mexican second wife, Kahlo became a central figure in revolutionary Mexican politics and twentieth-century art.

In 1925, at the age of eighteen, Kahlo suffered appalling injuries in a streetcar accident, when she was impaled by an iron handrail smashing through her pelvis. Multiple fractures to her spine, foot, and pelvic bones meant that the rest of her life was dominated by a struggle against severe pain and disability.

Following her accident Kahlo started painting, becoming an important surrealist. Her paintings, mostly self-portraits, employ the iconography of ancient Mesoamerican cultures to depict both her physical suffering and her passion for Mexican politics and for the love of her life, Diego Rivera, whom she married in 1929.

A famous painter of heroic revolutionary murals, Rivera was much older than Kahlo and incapable of sexual fidelity. When he began an affair with her sister, Kahlo left Mexico. However, she forgave him this and other infidelities. She divorced Diego in 1940, but remarried him later the same year.

Both artists had numerous affairs. Among Kahlo’s lovers were Leon Trotsky and other men, but they also included several women. . Her friend Lucienne Bloch recalled Rivera saying, “You know that Frida is a homosexual, don’t you?” But the complexity of the artists’ marriage warns against taking this statement at face value.

However, Kahlo’s gay significance is greater than her few lesbian liaisons suggest or even her representations of women, some of which are extremely sapphic.

She was a master of cross-dressing, deliberately using male “drag” to project power and independence. A family photograph from 1926 shows her in full male attire.

Clothes were extremely important to Kahlo.  Frida used dress to make a nationalist political point, she also used it to make a statement about her own independence from feminine norms.

Frida Kahlo died on July 13, 1954, soon after turning 47. A few days before her death, she wrote in her diary:“I hope the exit is joyful — and I hope never to return — Frida”. The official cause of death was given as a pulmonary embolism, although some suspected that she died from an overdose that may or may not have been accidental. An autopsy was never performed.

Diego Rivera would write that the day Kahlo died was the most tragic day of his life, adding that, too late, he had realized that the most wonderful part of his life had been his love for her

Frida has been described as: “…one of history’s grand divas…a tequila-slamming, dirty joke-telling smoker, bi-sexual that hobbled about her bohemian barrio in lavish indigenous dress and threw festive dinner parties for the likes of Leon Trotsky, poet Pablo Neruda, Nelson Rockefeller, and her on-again, off-again husband, muralist Diego Rivera.

Today, more than half a century after her death, her paintings fetch more money than any other female artist.

Bisexual Professional Wrestler Anthony Bowens Comes Out AGAIN This Time As Gay

Bisexual Pro Wrestler Anthony Bowens Comes Out AGAIN This Time As Gay

In May of 2017 WWE professional wrestler Anthony Bowens came out as bisexual and since has since been a spokesman about the stigma of being bisexual.

Last night, Bowens came out again: this time as gay.

‘In short, just about two years ago I came out as bisexual which was truely [sic] how I viewed myself at the time. However, over the last six months or so I’ve started to less identify less and less with that label to the point where it doesn’t feel like “me” anymore.

‘As people move on in their lives, the way they view the world and themselves tends to change and I’m no different. Which is why if you are to label me, I prefer to identify as gay.’

Bowens says he offers more of an explanation in a video he has made with his boyfriend, Michael Pavano.

‘There will be a mixed range of reactions and I address each one of them in the video,’ says Bowens. ‘But anyway, thank you to everyone for reading and your continued support of Michael and I. I’m looking forward to continuing to entertain you in 2019 whether that be on YouTube, the ring, or beyond!’

Aaron Carter GOES IN!: I'm Not Really Bisexual.

Aaron Carter GOES BACK IN!: I’m Not Really Bisexual.

“Yeah, no. It was more so just a story that happened when I was like 17 with somebody, and I can find men and women attractive, but when it comes down to it, I think it was a little misconstrued. I see myself being with a woman and having kids. I want to have a family. I keep telling people that. I don’t want it to be misconstrued too much just because I was open about a story.” — Aaron Carter speaking to Hollywood Life about that time he came out as bisexual

Personally I think he just came out to get a crowd for his appearance at Hamburger Mary’s so he would have money to go score.

UK Pride Terror Suspect Ethan Stables Comes Out As Bisexual In Court

Ethan Stables, the man accused of planning to attack an LGBT PRIDE event at the New Empire pub in Barrow, Cumbria,. has told a jury at Leeds Crown Court that he is actually bisexual.

Stables made the shocking revelation after a jury saw a video of him saying ‘gays look nicer on fire’ as he burned a rainbow flag. However he said that he had previously been too scared to reveal his sexuality because his parents ‘would be disgusted’ saying he was ‘utterly ashamed’ of what he had done

Stables, denies preparing an act of terrorism and threats to kill in June last year.

Prosecutors claim the “white supremacist” had a “deep-seated hatred” of minorities, especially gay people.

The court heard Mr Stables was planning to use an axe and machete during the attack, but the plan was foiled after he told people about it on Facebook.

The court previously heard told Mr Stables was a neo-Nazi who had tried to obtain guns and the means to make an improvised explosive device.

Jurors were told he posted a series of messages in a Facebook chat group which included: “I’m going to war tonight.”

Stables was arrested on his way to a reconnaissance visit to the pub before returning to his home for the machete and axe, Mr Sandiford said.

Mr Stables claimed he had forgotten he owned a machete when writing online that he was going to kill gay people with one, the court heard.

40 Years Later One Of John Wayne Gacy’s Victims Is Finally Identified

Now after 40 years the Cook County Sheriff’s office has identified one of the few remaining unidentified unknown victims of notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

16 year old runaway from Minnesota, James Byron Haakenson was believed to have been killed in August 1976.  Haakenson’s family received the grim news from a Cook County investigator this week.

Lorie Sisterman who was John’s sister submitted a sample of her DNA after someone in the family wondered if James had been a Gacy victim. The DNA turned out to be a match with one of the seven left unknown victims.

Sisterman, the oldest sibling, said the father of the family drank and wasn’t always around and that her brother was a troubled youth who ran away to Chicago at the age of 16.

She remembers a conversation with another sibling around that time.

“And he said something like, ‘Jimmy’s wearing makeup.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ Well maybe he’s into the gay lifestyle.” Sisterman went onto say not all the family were understanding about it.

Shortly after that Jimmy ran away from home.

Jimmy Haakenson called his mother from Chicago on August 5, 1976.

Then, after that there was no word for over 40 years.

This week, a Cook County Sheriff’s detective went to Minnesota to tell the family the news.

“We talked.  A couple of people burst out crying. And all I could say was, ‘Wow,” Sisterman said.“”It’s not every day you hear a monster murdered your brother.”

John Wayne Gacy sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978.  He was finally executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.

It is reported that his final spoken words were simply, “Kiss my ass.”

LGBTQIAPDexpialidocious! – GLAAD Makes The Decision All By Itself That We Will Now Be Known As LGBTQ

LGBTQIAPDexpialidocious! - GLAAD Makes The Decision All By Itself That We Will Now Be Known As LGBTQ

LGBTQIAPDexpialidocious!

GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation  (Remember them?  I know it’s hard they don’t do much these days.)  is releasing the tenth edition of its style guide, an utterly PC language bible for LGBT “journalists”  is now asking that all major media outlets to use LGBTQ from now on. The “q” by the way stands for queer, not questioning.

“On one level, it is just adding another letter,” says Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD’s president and CEO. “But really it is bringing a whole new definition to the way we describe ourselves. It’s the start of a bigger shift.”

Other changes to GLAAD’s style guide includes the more open-ended label “bi+.” There are inaugural glossary definitions for “intersex” and “asexual”  and will find the descriptor “non-binary” alongside the explanation of what it means to be “genderqueer.”

Gay activist  Vito Russo’s concern over how LGBT people were presented in the popular media led him to co-found the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which is supposed to be a watchdog group that monitors LGBT representation in the mainstream media not oversee  acronyms.  In 2016 while we still have major problems with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender  representation in mainstream movies, television, literature and we are constantly fighting the #KillYourGays meme one would think that GLAAD might have better things to do like follow its original mission statement and stop making poor Vito rol in his grave.

But since GLAAD waisted do much and money on their “stylebook” perhaps GLAAD should lead by example and change their name to the LGB+TQQIA-AAD.

Until then GLAAD can stick their elongated useless acronyms up their Funk & Wagnalls.

Lock Up Your Sons! Caitlyn Jenner Says She’s Ready To Date Men!

Caitlyn Jenner Halloween Costume

In a new trailer for the second season of I Am Cait, Caitlyn Jenner reveals that she’s ready to date men basically coming out as Bi-sexual. I think.

Jenner is seen in the a road trip with her girlfriends.

Chandi Moore is seen asking Jenner in the trailer for the upcoming season. “Would you consider yourself to be a lesbian?”

“To be honest with you, I don’t see dating women in the future. I’ve been there, done that, got three ex-wives,” Jenner replies.

“So now you can have an ex-husband,” Jennifer Boylan remarks.

“That’s right,” Jenner replies.

In another scene, Boylan tells Jenner that she was “a little hurt” to learn about Jenner’s “lukewarm support for same-sex marriage,” a reference to an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where Jenner revealed that she did not support such unions 15 years ago but is now “okay with that.” Jenner later wrote a column in which she reiterated her support for marriage equality.

I didn’t explain it as well as I should have,” Jenner tells Boylan. “But I had, like, 30 seconds to think about it.”

“I hope you will recognize, you’re a leader,” Boylan remarks.

Its amazing that Boylan a self-proclaimed author and trans-political activist who has hitched her fame ticket to Jenner took 6 months to ask Jenner that question.

I guess Boylan was waiting for Season 2 and the right camera angle.
