Yesterday in Clarion, Iowa Michele Bachmann was asked to autograph a”gay-friendly Iowan” sign and then questioned if she knew that per The Kinsey Report that 10% of the population is estimated to be gay.
Marcia Marcus Bachmann who we all know is a little “light in his loafers” to begin with and performs dangerous and fraudulkant “reparative therapy” by trying to help gay individuals become straight, then chimed in. by saying “Your facts are wrong,”
“That’s not valid?” the autograph seeker asked.
“No it isn’t,” Michele Bachmann said. Her husband added, “No, it’s not at all. It’s been a myth for many years.”
What the Bachmanns are responding to are is a more recent report after Kinsey published by a gay man Gary J. Gates of The Williams Institute, part of the UCLA School of Law who states that Kinsey’s 10% number is wrong and that by his research only about 3.5% of the US adult population is estimated to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual.
The problem with Gates research and finding is the dramatic differences used between his statistic gathers and Kinsey’s so in the end it cannot and does not invalidate kinsey’s findings as it was not done in the same way in a controlled environment as Kinsey’s findings were. And even Gates himself admitted difficulties with maintaining accuracy, saying that “survey methods can affect the willingness of respondents to report stigmatizing identities and behaviors.” But yet he and The Williams Institute still choose to publish the data anyway.
Remember when you ran away And I got on my knees And begged you not to leave Because I’d go berserk? Well. . .
You left me anyhow And then the days got worse and worse And now you see I’ve gone Completely out of my mind And. . .
They’re coming to take me away, HA HA They’re coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA To the funny farm Where life is beautiful all the time And I’ll be happy to see Those nice, young men In their clean, white coats And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!
Michele Bachmann appeared on Glenn Beck’s radio show today where they talked about hor Bachmann is being attacked by the evil shameful gays ares stooping so low as to use children like 8 year old Elijah against her.
I suppose theres nothing evil putting tape over the mouths of toddlers and forcing them to stand on the steps of the Capitol holding pictures of mutilated babies, as per the pro-life fanatics.
There are many negative comments on this on other sites blaming the childs mother for using him to get at Bachmann. But there is a backstory which can be found in the comments on YouTube
“I took the video. We were standing in line, and his mom was ready to leave because we didn’t know what WE were going to say. When we turned to leave, Elijah grabbed her coat and pulled her back, telling her to stay cause he wanted to tell Michele something. If anything, it was the other way around. He just got stage fright– and his mom wasn’t going to let him back down, because he was going to regret it”
The potential next president of the USA, Michele Bachmann, once again has failed to grasp the concept that prohibiting homosexuals from marrying someone of the same sex meant that they are treated in any way differently to heterosexual couples.
When addressing the crowd at Waverly Iowa yesterday, Bachmann began preaching tolerance and urged us not to “squelch people’s speech”. This all sounded promising until it turned out that she was defending those with religious-based values, as if they are the suppressed minority! Bachmann was then questioned by highschooler and president of her school’s Gay-Straight Alliance, Jane Schmidt. The conversation included this extract:
JANE SCHMIDT: Then, why can’t same-sex couples get married?
BACHMANN: They can get married, but they abide by the same law as everyone else. They can marry a man if they’re a woman. Or they can marry a woman if they’re a man.
JANE SCHMIDT: Why can’t a man marry a man?
BACHMANN: Because that’s not the law of the land.
JANE SCHMIDT: So heterosexual couples have a privilege.
BACHMANN: No, they have the same opportunity under the law. There is no right to same-sex marriage.
Putting aside her apparent ignorance to the fact that same-sex marriage was legalised in Iowa in 2009 (as it is admittedly potentially under threat – see recent video also), Bachmann’s laughable suggestion that gays should marry members of the opposite sex is not only – dare i say it – intolerant and discriminatory but also counter-productive. Does she and her right-wing friends honestly believe that encouraging homosexuals to deceive all their nearest-and-dearest in loveless, pseudo relationships? I’d like to see her forced to live in a same-sex relationship all her life and see how happy she is about it…
“The Constitution does not specifically enumerate nor does it give to the federal government the role and duty to superintend over education. That historically has been held by the parents and by local communities and by state government. To put that into the federal government as we saw a Department of Education in the late 1970s has eviscerated the constitutional understanding that the control of education truly lies with the parents.”-Rep. (and fucking loon) Michele Bachmann
Yesterday at Sen. Jim DeMint’s Palmetto (Bug) Freedom Forum Michele Bitchman as a way to save the government money that if elected president she would drastically pare back the federal government, possibly by doing away with the U.S. Department of Education.
Here’s news for Bachmann and other Tea Party budget crazies. The constitution also does not guarantee you the farm subsidy’s or tax breaks that you seem to enjoy taking so much or a goverment balanced budget either So making draconian cuts to services that actually help people and hurt the country as a whole to try to look good in the feeble minded minds of of uneducated Tea Party lemmings is not a constitutional right either.
