“The problem with the Christian movement, with the Christians and pastors, is that they pray too much and act too little. Pastors and religious leaders are supposed to remember that we are supposed to be Christians before being Democrats or being Republicans. Our responsibility is with Jesus and not with Democratic Party or Republican Party. I made history. I’m the only New York State Democrat that voted against the bill. I will wear it as a badge of honor.” – NY Sen. Ruben Diaz, in an interview with the totally evil Christian Post. Diaz also claims that gay marriage will hasten the End Times
Wear your legacy proudly Ruben. You well deserve what the history books are going to write about you.
“The biggest trophy that gay activists now seek is the redefinition of marriage. Currently, only five states allow same-sex marriages. How can a team leading 45-5 be losing? Where the people have decided, 31 out of 31 states have upheld marriage as a male-female union. A 31-game winning streak rarely signals a losing season.
If family members saw that I engaged in behavior that put my physical health at risk, I would expect them to warn me. If my closest friends believed I was in a harmful relationship, I would want them to help me escape it. If I were falling into sin, I would want other Christians to call me to repentance. We will continue to speak the truth (even hard truths) with love (sometimes tough love). But we will not be silent.” – President of the OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED HATE GROUP The Family Research Council Tony Perkins, in a letter published by USA Today.
“If I were falling into sin, I would want other Christians to call me to repentance.”
Okay Miss Princess Tiny Meat here goes…..
Tony. Hatred is a sin. Lying is a sin. Vanity and arrogance are sins. Meanness of spirit is a sin. Profiting off the gullible in God’s name is a sin. Repent, Perkins before GOD bitchslaps the shit out of you……ot I do!
Opponents of the measure came from across the state to testify. Unfortunately, the Republican majority on the committee attempted to limit testimony on both sides of the issue to ten minutes. Democrats on the committee objected and even presented rules that require the public be able to at least verbally state their opposition to the bill. The Republicans on the committee ignored the rules, and refused to let opponents of the bill testify. In response to the GOP actions, Rep. Diane Sands (D-Missoula) took to reading the names of every opponent (all 50+) of the measure and asked them to stand and be acknowledged. After the hearing, opponents of the measure held their own hearing, next to the statue of Rep. Jeannette Rankin, where they allowed all of the opponents of the measure speak and be heard. During this informal hearing, Sen. Carol Williams and other Democratic lawmakers showed up to show their frustrations with the treatment of these Montanans that simply wanted to be heard.
Crazy as a fruitcake Montana TEA PARTY REPUBLICAN Representative Kristen Hansen has introduced a bill that would overturn all local LGBT rights laws in the state. The bill “limits all local rights ordinances to state-protected classes” of people. Montana House Bill 516. To make matters worse GOP lawmakers refused to allow opponents of the bill to be heard, even though anti-gay activists were heard from, including one pastor Harris Himes who also just happens to be a board member of the anti-gay Montana Family Coalition who said that homosexuality is an abomination worthy of being put to death and therefore gay people should not be rented homes in Montana.
Feel free to send Kristen an email, a letter or some dog shit through the mail at the addy below.
Last week Jeffrey D. Bornhoeft An Ohio man who killed his ex-wife’s new husband but was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2000 has been given permission to leave Ohio to visit the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky for a trip his father said he is taking because he has become involved with a church since the shooting death. Bornhoeft had his ex-wife, on the phone as he fired three shots at close range into the back of her new husbands head while he slept then threatened to turn the gun on himself during a three-hour standoff that ended when he surrendered to Lebanon Ohio police.
Also last week gay couple was denied entry to a “Date Night” event at the Creation Museum as Security Guards at told one member of gay couple that he and his soon-to-arrive partner were not welcome at the event, because they were gay. and that the event was publicized as being closed to homosexuals (which was a lie).
A party of three (one male/female couple and one man,) arrived at the Creation Museum’s “Date Night” event fourth member of the party the lone males date another male hadn’t yet arrived, a security guard asked to fourth member of the party who he assumed was a woman, car looked like to verify his identity when he arrived. When the man informed the guard that his date was another man the security guard snidely told them and told them that the heterosexual couple could gay inside and the gay couple couldn’t.
So Kentucky creationist feel safe and secure that you will be able to rub shoulders with insane murderers as you look at a diorama of Jesus riding a dinosaur but you won;t have to worry about seeing any gay people.
Youth for Western Civilization is a supremacist group that’s a relative newcomer to the right-wing student scene, though its founders have roots in more established reactionary groups. The Southern Poverty Law Center has a good rundown of the nationalist and white supremacist ties this organization has:
*One of the group’s founders, Marcus Epstein, is a frequent contributor to the white nationalist hate website VDARE.com. “Diversity can be good in moderation – if what is being brought in is desirable,” Epstein wrote in one VDARE.com essay. “Most Americans don’t mind a little ethnic food, some Asian math whizzes, or a few Mariachi dancers – as long as these trends do not overwhelm the dominant culture.”
*Epstein is also the head of the Robert A. Taft Club, a Washington, D.C. group whose events regularly feature prominent academic racists like Jared Taylor, the editor of the overtly white supremacist journal American Renaissance.
*Another Youth for Western Civilization founder, Kevin DeAnna, has posted several times in recent years to the Spartan Spectator, the website of the Michigan State University chapter of Young Americans for Freedom, or MSU-YAF.
In 2007, the Southern Poverty Law Center identified MSU-YAF as a hate group after it organized a “Catch an Illegal Alien Day” game, sponsored a “Koran desecration contest,” jokingly threatened to distribute small-pox infected blankets to Native American students, posted “Gays spread AIDS” fliers, called Latino students and faculty members “savages,” and invited Nick Griffin, the chairman of the neofascist British National Party, to speak on the MSU campus.
Piers Morgan, in a show airing on Wednesday, invited MegaChurch pastor Joel Osteen, who admits that he’s never been to seminary but still calls himself a Pastor on his new show to discuss “homosexuality”. Says Osteen:
The scriptures shows that it’s a sin. But you know, I’m not one of those that are out there to bash homosexuals and tell them that they’re terrible people and all of that. I mean, there are other sins in the Bible too…I don’t believe homosexuality is God’s best for a person’s life. “Well, it’s strictly back to what the scripture says. I mean, I can’t grab one part and say God wants you to be blessed and live an abundant life, and not grab the other part that says, you know what? You know, live that kind of life. So it comes back to the scripture. I’m not the judge. You know, God didn’t tell me to go around judging everybody.”
Anyone who cherry picks Leviticus and the scriptures in general to advocate against gay people but ignore all of the other restrictions are baseless hypocrites and Joel Osteen is at the top of the list. And where Osteen has major issues with people being gay he obviously has no problem about he himself being a sinful a money-grubbing, fame-whoring religious huckster.
And as for Piers Morgan. Where he did press Osteen on the issue. The bigger questions is WHY even have him on unless you are truly going to decimate him. With everything that’s going on the world right right there are no better guests than a “C-list Christomaniac Homo Hating Fascist Fundamentalist”.
Piers you could certainly do better than that and you and the media need to realize that whenever you give people like Osteen a platform in any form its dangerous. Because there is always going to be at least one crazy ass bigoted mother fucker out there that feels the same way and it can breed more hate in the end.
Media, all media needs to start showing some responsibility.
Now that the Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal of Bishop Harry Jackson, whose lawsuit demanded that Washington DC residents be allowed to vote on same-sex marriage the haters just refuse to give up.
Their latest “new strategy” comes via Tony Perkins the President of the hate group the Family Research Council who states he is working with GOP leaders in Washington to to overturn D.C. same sex marriage laws and is calling upon his hateful homophobic minions to call Congress to act on overturning it.
Via FRC Email:
Last year, when the city council exploited the process and forced same-sex “marriage” on the District, House leaders could have–and should have–gotten involved. Instead, members chickened out and did nothing. Fortunately for D.C. voters, times–and the party majorities–have changed. I’ve been discussing possible steps GOP leaders could take to do what the city didn’t do: give the people a voice. Believe it or not, Congress has the power to override the D.C. government’s decisions any time it wants. It could reject the marriage law outright or order the District to adopt a new statute that would put this issue on the ballot. What the Left doesn’t want you to know is that D.C. doesn’t have the authority to block referendums on marriage. Only Congress does.
The answer for us,” Bishop Jackson said yesterday, “is to return to the political process.” And you can help! With a strong new Speaker at the helm, Americans can demand that our nation’s capital follow our nation’s law–which is that marriage is the union of a man and woman. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is the Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee. As a representative from California, where Proposition 8 is under attack, he knows firsthand the importance of leaving these issues in voters’ hands. Email or call him (202-225-3906) today and encourage him to give the people of Washington, D.C. the same opportunity. For more on what FRC is doing to protect our federal marriage law (DOMA) from the administration that’s supposed to be defending it, check out our press release here
The interesting part of this is this comes from the same people who call for smaller goverment but have no problems running to the government when things don’t go their way.
Whats equally disturbing is that members of Congress work with hate groups. Would such a thing be tolerated if it were the KKK working with Congress? This is something that really needs to stop and we need to do our best to make that happen.
Its clearly evident that Jackson, Perkins, Gallagher, Brown, LaBarebera, and the AFA, FRC, FOTF, and all the other alphahomophobic groups will not stop until we make them stop. And that’s something that we have to work on by calling for their tax exempt status’ to be revoked, that the FBI looks into the possibility of RICO charges and we seriously start to play dirty and dig up whatever dirt we can on the leaders, and you know with this crew there must be many skeletons in the closet, and bring them down. (In a non-violent way of course) . Tweet
This morning I posted that the Department of Justice had announced yesterday that they were going to be appealing the two rulings, in Gill v. Office of Personnel Management and Commonwealth of Massachusetts vs. Department of Health and Human Services, in which Judge Joseph Tauro of Boston ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) violates the Fifth Amendment and impedes the state of Massachusetts’s ability to define marriage.
“The DOJ brief amounts to collusive litigation, failing to even offer to the court, much less vigorously defend, the reasons Congress laid out in the statute when it passed DOMA, especially responsible procreation. This is an attack not only on marriage, but on the prerogatives of Congress. The Executive branch should not attempt to exercise this kind of retroactive line-item veto over a bill passed by Congress.
All the parties to this litigation want the court to strike down DOMA; this is clear from their behavior, no matter what President Obama and his politicized DOJ pretend to convey to the public. If Obama’s DOJ had merely honestly refused to defend the law, the court would likely have permitted another party to intervene to defend the law. Obama’s DOJ is trying to retain control so it can lose this case.”
Some self loating, closet case, homophobic bigots are never happy now. Are they?
Republicans who won and took over the Raleigh, NC school board with the backing of the Tea Party. (And PLEASE LETS BE REAL. The Tea Party are pasrt of the the Republican party as Progressives are to the Democratic party) have voted and approved to stop the busing of minority students from poorer neighborhoods into better-funded school districts. Wake County’s school superintendent has resigned in protest and guess what? His expected replacement is a Tea Party activist and retired general who lists himself as a fan of Glenn Beck on his Facebook page
The new school board has won applause from parents who blame the old policy – which sought to avoid high-poverty, racially isolated schools – for an array of problems in the district and who say that promoting diversity is no longer a proper or necessary goal for public schools. “This is Raleigh in 2010, not Selma, Alabama, in the 1960s – my life is integrated,” said John Tedesco, a new board member. “We need new paradigms.” But critics accuse the new board of pursuing an ideological agenda aimed at nothing less than sounding the official death knell of government-sponsored integration in one of the last places to promote it. Without a diversity policy in place, they say, the county will inevitably slip into the pattern that defines most districts across the country, where schools in well-off neighborhoods are decent and those in poor, usually minority neighborhoods struggle.
Today’s GOP and Tea Party: a bridge to the 19th century.
President of the Anti-Gay Pennsylvania Family Institute Michael Geer is mad as heck and speaking out against all us nasty LGBT bloggers and specifically attacking Jeremy Hooper over at the LGBT Blog As Good As You with blatant lies for making such a BFD about Chick-fil-A’s involvement in an upcoming “marriage conference” that the PFI is running that Chick-fil-A was said to be a sponsor of.
“Good as You,” a blog catering to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community, posted a flyer about PFI’s February event, The Art of Marriage, with a message asserting that Chick-fil-A was supporting the Pennsylvania group and its efforts to take down the state’s gay marriage plans.
The blog has gone so far as to create an online petition against the restaurant company.
Setting the record straight, Geer said Chick-fil-A is not sponsoring the event. “There are a couple restaurants that are giving us food,” he shared. The food, mostly chicken sandwiches, is for a day-and-half-long workshop for couples who want to strengthen their marriages.
According to Geer, the local Chick-fil-A branches involved were simply trying to “be good neighbors” to the marriage retreat being held at two local churches. “We didn’t even get any money,” maintained Geer. The food was freely donated to the churches hosting the marriage retreat.
Geer also denounced mentions in the blog and later homosexual magazine On Top for wrongly suggesting that Chick-fil-A’s corporate office, located in Georgia, is involved in the event. Despite restaurant creator Truett Cathy’s profession of faith, Geer says it was a local decision to give the food
Utter crap….
Good As You did not start an online petition against Chick-fil-A although it would be understandable considering that the corporate restaurant DOES have ties to Focus on the Family to the extent where it passed out FOF DVD’s at one point and there areMANY INSTANCES of Chick-fil-A’s donating food to anti-gay groups across the country as I reported here back on August 30th last year when Chick-fil-A “sponsored” Ohio’s leading anti-gay hate group the Citizend For Community Values which has direct ties to to the recognized hate groups American Family Foundation and the Family Research Council. So this IS NOT the first time that Chick-fil-A has been caught doing this.
A donation is a donation, weather it is food or money. Chick-fil-A will be able to declare the cost as a charitable contribution so as any idiot can see, except for Michael Geer that is, it is in fact a donation. In a nutshell Michael Geer is lying.
Nice try there loser. EAT MORE BEEF – BOYCOTT CHICK-FIL-A!
