Oiled up superhunk Pita Taukatofua is not the only member of the Tongan Olympic team to be recognized for something special this year at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Amini Founa is proud to be an out and proud gay man and showed this to the world by wearing striped colored trunks with the words “gay” and “lesbian printed on them.

“ There’s not a lot of diversity in swimming It’s a gentle reminder to everyone that I am different and take pride in that difference” said the 26 year old swimmer.

Just how important is it to Fonua to be “out” as an Olympian? “It means absolutely everything to me,” he says. “I want the next generation of athletes who advance through swimming’s world rankings to feel safe and comfortable being themselves. I also believe there’s real strength to be derived from the power of openly LGBT athletes, so to all the others in Rio, I say this: just by being here and being queer and present, you’re making a difference

Gifted by an LGBT organization Fonua has been wearing the trunks during practice and social media photo ops.

This is Founa’s second time competing in the Olympics.

Gotta love those Tongan men.

2016 Summer Olympic Hunks: Tonga Parade of Nations Flag Bearer Pita Taufatofua Brings Back Baby Oil – Video

 Tonga Parade of Nations Hunk

Shirtless and oiled-up Tonga Olympian Pita Taukatofua has sent gay men and women on social media around the world into an epic meltdown.

The Taekwondo athlete led his country’s delegation as its flag bearer during the Olympics opening ceremony — walking into Maracanã Stadium shirtless and completely covered in baby oil.

Taukatofua marched in proudly waving the flag of the tiny Polynesian nation, wearing nothing but a ta’ovala, or Tongan mat.

People watching the ceremony went bonkers over the greasy hunky athlete.

Taukatofua, 32, was born in Australia but wanted to compete for his father’s country.

He qualified in April after trying  to make the two previous Olympics.

The website generosity.com says he  ‘sacrificed his whole adult life working in homeless shelters with the underprivileged.’

All that and caring too.
