Sam Stein Wonders If Obama And The Democrats Should Be Worried About Growing GOP Support for Gays? - NOT HARDLY. They Should Be Worried They Are Losing Our Votes Because They Suck!

Journalist Sam Stein, a featured writer over at Huffington Post today wrote an article questioning weather Obama be concerned about the growing number of Republicans that are to the left of him on gay marriage and similar issues.
...a prominent Democratic consultant got in touch with the Huffington Post to make the case that the Obama administration risks losing the gay rights community (or at least depressing their votes) with its tepid embrace of their priorities.

"I think they have been put in a tough place by these conservatives and they should be," the consultant said. "There are a whole group of people who are to the left of them on gay rights. And they are Republicans. It should make them feel uncomfortable."

LBGT voters are not, of course, monolithic. And on a host of other fronts, they are repulsed by the GOP's policies. Talk about abandoning Obama and the Democrats, in some respects, has been driven more by a desire to scare the party into action than sincere intent to vote Republican.

But that doesn't mean it's impossible for an electoral shift to take place or that there aren't those in the GOP who welcome siphoning off the LBGT vote
I've seen a lot of these articles over the past few days and you have to wonder what the media is doing?  And why they are writing such crap.

Should Obama and the Democrats be worried about the LGBT Vote?  HELL YES!  Will the Republicans gain LGBT Voters?  HELL NO!

WATCH "Out In Silence" Directed by Joe Wilson - The Full Documentary- (53 Minutes)

Out in the Silence captures the remarkable chain of events that unfold when the announcement of filmmaker Joe Wilson’s wedding to another man ignites a firestorm of controversy in his small Pennsylvania hometown.  Drawn back by a plea for help from the mother of a gay teen being tormented at school, Wilson’s journey dramatically illustrates the universal challenges of being an outsider in a conservative environment and the transformation that is possible when those who have long been constrained by a traditional code of silence summon the courage to break it.

*Out in Silence is made available here through HULU and can unfortunatly only be viewed within the United States.  After the outrageous hatred and bigotry shown in the documentary and which recently happened in Coudersport, Pennsylvania as reported on Back2Stonewall.com  I feel that it is important that this documentary be watched.  Being hosted through Hulu with embed HTML codes included to the best of my knoiwledge means that sharing this important LGBT documentary video is acceptable and that no copyright infringement is intended.

Coudersport, Pennsylvania Bigots Gather To Spread Hate and Violence Towords The LGBT Community After Screening Of Joe Wilson's Documentary "Out In Silence" (Video)

This is so disturbing that I literally shaking as I write this.

Joe Wilson's documentary "Out In Silence" which takes a look at what it's like to be LGBT in asmall rural Pennsylvania town . Was crested by hatred, bigotry and talk of LGBT violence by a group of Christomaniac homophobic bigots at Coudersport, Pennsylvania's public library  (Wilson's subject was Oil City, PA, his hometown, two hours away not Coudersport, PA)

Joe Wilson had  screened Out in the Silence Coudersport, PA a month before the presentation you're about to see here, to a standing room only crowd and faced fierce opposition from the local Tea Party and Dr. Robert Wagner, who in the video presents his "A Bible Believing Christian's Response to OUT IN THE SILENCE.  Sitting next to him is Diane Gramley, President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Family Association, and a resident of Oil City who plays a central role in Wilson's film for opposing Wilson and his partner's same-sex marriage announcement in the local paper.
"I'm gonna put a ball bat in my car, and if I ever see a guy (transgender individual) coming out of a bathroom that my granddaughter's in, I'm gonna use the ball bat on him...In the good old days, before 'she-males' existed, they just called such people perverts." - Robert Wagner
The video below is shocking and disturbing and just proves the hatred and small mindedness that exists in small towns and gets worse everyday that our rights hang in the balance

Joe Wilson is very courageous and reasonable in the face of a room of white fundamentalist bigots who have no interest in any opinions other than their holier than thou religion entrenched hate.

Because I for one would have taken a bat to Robert Wagner's face thats how furious this has made me.

REALITY CHECK - Less Than 2 Percent of Lutheran Comgregations Have Left The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Snyod Supposedly Over "Gay Clergy"

Being a Lutheran (although very laxed at this point in my life) and growing up with Davey and Goliath I've been following the story of the "more conservative churches" that are splitting away from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America over the recent acceptance of gay clergy, and their recent ordination of gay bishops who are involved in committed relationships and its time to put it into perspective.

There are  over 10,239 ELCA churches in America totaling over 4.5 million members.  So far LESS THAN 2 PERCENT, 199 Churches have left the ELCA.  But it becomes more interesting because these churches are not leaving the ELCA to join one of the other two organized major Lutheran bodies in the America  Lutheran Church - The much more conservative Missouri Synod (with approximately 2.41 million members and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (with approximately 390,000 members). But instead have opted to start their own called the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) through the Lutheran group called Lutheran CORE (COalition for REnewal) which will be headed by Lutheran NALC  Bishop Paull Spring

The question that remains is why if the congregations are leaving the ELCA over "gay clergy" did they simply not join the other two more conservative Synods?  The answer is simple.  It's power,  a bit of fanaticism, and not really about "Gay Clergy" at all/

In a recent Press release from Bishop Paull Spring the hyperbole was thick hyperbole and full of prideful presumption that the actions of CORE and the NALC  Spring suggests that the ELCA gay friendly resolutions of a year ago were merely the tipping point, and it was the ELCA’s long term drift away from Scripture that is really the issue. According to an Associated Press report on the Convocation and an interview with Bishop Spring, which was reported in the Huffington Post
He gave as an example the ELCA’s use of inclusive language that strips male references to God — such as “Father” and “Son” — replacing them with words like “Creator” and “Savior.”
Okay......but I went to confirmation classes.  Even I know that Martin Luther refers to the Trinity as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifer in the Large Catechism.

This whole split is is all about power, and those who will be the leaders. The congregations who join will have more power because they will be in a smaller pond than ELCA's large one. Spring wants to be a Bishop, and the small percentage of hardline homophobic congregations are using "gay clergy" excuse.  Which is not only unchristian, but stands against almost everything Martin Luter stood for.
