Will Mac Find His PRIDE On Next Weeks “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”? – Video

For those of you who don’t know last season, Mac (played by Rob McElhenney) finally came out (for good this time) as gay on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on FX.

A synopsis for the season 13 finale titled “Mac finds His Pride” reads: “Frank tries to recruit Mac for the gang’s float for the Gay Pride Parade; Frank comes to the realization that Mac will never be secure with his sexual identity unless he comes out to his father.” (Who is currently in prison by the way.)

In the trailer, Mac can be seen telling Frank (Danny DeVito): “I don’t know where I stand as a gay man and it’s starting to get to me.” Frank responds by telling him to “find his pride” and taking him to an S&M club. Later, Dee (Kaitlin Olson) is seen preparing the pub’s float for a Pride parade.

Earlier this year, Rob McElhenney and his new super buffed body discussed the episode’s focus on Pride, saying it was in part due to the “massive response” he got from the LGBTQ community after Mac came out. “They told me how moved they were by it and how important it was to be represented.”

Bravo to Rob McElhenney and the cast of It’s Always Sunny!
