Happy HOMO-ween! WATCH: HELL HOUSE The Full Documentary (2011) – Nothing Scarier Than Texas Pentecostals!

Hell House

It might seem odd that I of all people would pimp a documentary about a Pentecostal church at Back2Stonewall.com. But even if this film were not about a “haunted house attraction”, it would still be one of the scariest and unbelievable things you’ll ever seen.

This documentary chronicles a season in the life of Texas’ famed Hell House, a haunted house designed by a Texas Pentacostal church to literally “scare the devil and Santorum” out of Christian teenagers by graphically recreating such horrors as botched abortions, AIDS death, rape, school shootings, suicide, and drunk driving accidents (and then showing the perpetrators dragged off to hell by masked demons). The church does this in the hopes to redirect “the lost” to the path of righteousness.

For a group of righteous people, they spend an awful lot of time discussing and recreating violent and horrific acts — it’s no wonder that one interviewee calls the world an “evil place” Mixed into the “let’s-put-on-a-show” hi-jinx we see scenes of parishioners speaking in tongues, an over stressed father caring for his 5 children — one who is prone to seizures — without the help of a spouse, and lots of confusion as to exactly what evils the good folks are battling including exactly which “date rape drug” they are warning against and what Magic: the Gathering is.

In the end watching a young man being dragged to hell for refusing to renounce his homosexual lifestyle (after of course contracting HIV) in front of a crowd of scared confused and tn this case physiologically abused children was just about as creepy and as sad as it gets.

Welcome to Hell (House)!

Interesting how many of these scenes result in young girls being raped — and how all the rapes are coded as the girls’ fault.

  2. My version of Hell would be being trapped in an existence with these kind of people for eternity.
