On Saturday we reported that shortly after Aaron Klein and his wife Melissa Klein of Sweet Cakes by Melissa were fined $135,000.00 dollars by the Oregon Bureau of Labor for breaking the states anti-gay discrimination law by refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex couple the “Christian” couple set up a GoFundMe page to to raise money to cover the fine. Before it reached its goal GoFundMe rightfully pulled the page for violating its Terms and Conditions.
Via GoFundMe:
“After careful review by our team, we have found the “Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa” campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions. The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal. While a different campaign was recently permitted for a pizzeria in Indiana, no laws were violated and the campaign remained live. However, the subjects of the “Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa” campaign have been formally charged by local authorities and found to be in violation of Oregon state law concerning discriminatory acts. Accordingly, the campaign has been disabled.”
Seeing this Back2Stonewall and it’s followers contacted GoFundMe to report another fraudulent page. That of Baronelle Stutzman the owner of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, Washington and whom the right-wing has turned into Grandma Maryr because she broke Washington states anti-discrimination law and refused to put together a flower arrangement for a gay couple’s wedding in 2013.
Stutzman, who was ordered to pay a whopping a $1000 fine, plus $1 for court costs and fees has been raising right-wing welfare on GFM for the past there weeks and had raised over $170 thousand dollars.
That is until today when after being contacted by this website GoFundMe removed her page and cancelled her fundraiser.
I want to thank all of our readers and followers on Facebook that reached out to GoFundMe over the weekend. No one should be able to profit from bigotry and hatred.
Especially when they are so cowardly to hide behind a false face of religion.
Speaking of which…….
