In Honor Of Britain’s LGBT History Month: Watch ITV’s Lost 1976 Gay Documentary “Coming Out”. – Video

coming out ITV Documentary

ITV is a commercial TV network in the United Kingdom launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to the BBC.

Coming Out” which screened on ITV as part of Southern Television’s “Southern Report” in February 1976 has been rarely seen since its premiere date.

The program prompted nationwide gay rights protests after one of the participants was fired from his job at British Home Stores. Other than that not much information is available.

Still very worth the watch.

Our history is everywhere.
