What I don’t understand is why they wanted to buy their cake from this homophobe in the first place…

Maybe this is the only bakery where they live that makes wedding cakes. Those of us in big cities, sometimes forget, a lot of people don’t have as many options as we have.

The point is that this homophobe made it political. All he had to say was that he was very busy that day and could not take any more orders. But instead he acted as a homophobic asshole. The law works (sometimes).

On a lighter note, when does Bryan Fisher drop dead of congestive internal organ failure? No one can be that bitter or hateful and live a long life. He must be rotting from the inside out. It is just a matter of time.

The point is not buying the cake from the homophobe-the point is that GLBT people are no longer going to tolerate being told our business is unwelcome in public accomodations. It’s a way of telling us we are less then-no different than whites only lunch counters. We don’t allow that in this country anymore because it’s inherently insulting to black people and a way of telling them they are inferior. Same principle here-The point is not any one particular homophobe and his cake-the point is the price to society as a whole when GLBT kids grow up seeing this.

What do you think?
