Kentucky Attorney General (Handsome) Jack Conway has sated that he will not defend the state’s gay marriage ban in an appeal of a federal court ruling ordering the state to recognize gay marriages performed elsewhere.
“Judge Heyburn got it right,” he said at his Frankfort office.
By appealing, he said, he would be defending discrimination “and that I will not do.”
He said that he was sworn to defend both the constitutions of Kentucky and the United States.
“It’s about placing people over politics,” he said.
But just moments after Conway s announcement the AP reported that Governor Steve Beshear, a Democrat will appeal the ruling with outside counsel using the states tax money to do so.
Contact Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear at (502) 564-2611 or use the Office of the KY Governor Website from and tell Beshear that a Democrat should know better and to not defend this unconstitutional and discriminatory law.
I watched this twice earlier today and still can’t figure out what he is crying about.
