UPDATE: Sen. Mark Kirk Cancels Senate Meeting Room Space For Anti-LGBT Seminar

Evil Prayers

Yesterday we reported that  Senate meeting rooms were being used  Friday for an event scheduled by American anti-gay leaders and supporters of Russia’s anti-LGBT laws led by the World Congress of Families on how to bring anti-gay Russian laws here to America.,  We are now happy to report that after hearing about this Illinois Senator Mark Kirk and his office stepped in and had the access to a Senate meeting rooms cancelled for the Friday hatefest.

A spokesman for Kirk, Lance Trover, issued the following statement from Senator Kirk about the cancellation. “Sen. Kirk doesn’t affiliate with groups that discriminate.”

The World Congress of Families replied:

“Shame on you, Senator Kirk, for allowing vocal radical sexual minorities to drown out the voices of the natural family and faith that have made our nation free, prosperous, and stable for more than 200 years. Obviously Senator Kirk doesn’t care about families and children and freedom and has chosen to side with the policies of decline, death and disease promoted by the Sexual Radicals.”

The World Congress of Famlies is a project of the Howard Center for Family, Religion, and Society, based in Rockford, Illinois, Kirk’s home state.  Is Kirk the Senator who originally and possibly unwittingly scheduled the room in the first place for the group since only members of Congress are allowed to reserve meeting rooms at the Dirksen Senate Office Building or was it some other Senator?
