Another Selfish Olympic Athlete, Jeremy Abbott Speaks Out Against Sochi Protest/Boycott

Jeremy Abbott douchebag

“Russia is hosting us. I’m not going to go into somebody’s house and be like, ‘Um, the way you decorate is hideous, and you need to completely redo this or I’m never coming back.’ It’s a little rude, so I don’t want to say bad things about a country that’s hosting the world, essentially. Maybe I don’t agree with their policies, and maybe I don’t agree with some things, but that’s for them to sort out. My speaking out just makes me look like an ass.” – Figure skating national champion Jeremy Abbott, speaking to the Denver Post.

Actually Jeremy nothing could possibly make you look more like an ass than your statement above.

Go ahead and go to Russia , compete and choke on the Sochi medal which you probably won’t win anyway since you finished ninth at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

  1. Well Jeremy, you very clearly and very articulate defined what you are: an ass!

All you are interested in is messing around there were people are killed, tortured and dying for being themselves!

You lack the ability to stand up for principles, you fail the people who need people from outside to fight for them as they can not fight for themselves due to oppressing laws, laws taking away their freedom of expression, speech and being themselves!

You on the other hand Jeremy, have the opportunity to speak free, express yourself, be yourself,…… and you are selfish enough to keep those rights for yourself…… and help racists, bigots and murderers in denying russian gay people the same!

As they say in theater: “break a leg”…
What about if you would break two?

  2. Why are you being so harsh and tough on the guy? I am not happy about what the Russians are doing either but this guy has probably been working for this since he was 4 or 5 years old. Put yourself in there position. Last time I looked, even though things are getting a bit effie here regarding weather we are or are not any longer a democracy, this was still a free country where we can voice any opinion and say what you want no matter how much you dislike it. I went through the 1980 boycott as a water polo coach…many of the players still, to this day, talk about it and curse the day Jimmy Carter was born. Really shame on you. There are always 3 sides to a story…try to put your feet in his shoes for a minute…he has to live with what he does and so do you. What it comes down to it that it really is none of your business what the hell he does.

      1. I’ll join you!
And lets see what flack we get when they break his legs, beat him up to pulp, and in the end castrate him………. As that is what is happening to Gays in Russia in 2013……… with the approval of and by the Great Nationalist President of All Russians (except the gay Russians… as he despises them), mister Putin himself!

Lets see what American citizens will say when they see, hear or read that the ice-skater is being murdered……. and no one helped him……

He seems to me to be a person who would go to South Africa during the Apartheid regime, simply because his sports achievements are more important then human rights….. He would have been a great athlete during the nazi-regime, no squirms while the death camps were spouting smoke from the burning jewish corpses……

    1. Well, of course he can say what he wants to say, no doubt about it!
That right is valid for me too…. I can say that I equal him to a nazi-athlete, right?

And as to putting myself in his shoes….. his achievements are achieved through grants, and tax-payers money……… So I think we as tax-payers have a right to voice our opinions!

I feel he is a selfish person, not interested in anything else then himself, without consideration of the suffering of others, obviously going there were he can achieve better results, even when people die, are tortured, are burned to death.
He probably would do his trick with the Argentine Junta, while planes would fly over the stadium throwing out living people to their death….. He’d be doing is rounds on the ice-floor!

OK with me, but don’t be surprised or upset when I object, and speak my opinion!

What do you think?
