Her LGBT Highness

Earlier this week the equal marriage bill for England and Wales once again been passed in the House of Commons. all amendments added in the House of Lords were accepted, it will not be required to go back to the Lords.

Queen Elizabeth II wasting no time gave her royal stamp of approval, clearing the way for the first same-sex weddings next summer.

The law enables gay couples to get married in both civil and religious ceremonies in England and Wales, provided that the religious institution consents. The Church of England, the country’s official faith, is barred from performing such ceremonies.

It also will allow couples who had previously entered into civil partnerships — which were introduced in 2005 and carry similar rights and responsibilities to marriage — to convert their relationships to marriage.

The queen’s approval was a formality and is the last step necessary for a bill to become law.

Congratulations to the LGBT Community of Great Britain!

This, now more than ever reinforces my belief that we would have been better off losing the Revolutionary War.

I truly do love receiving these updates and following the news from the US and around the world. I even tolerate at often times poor spelling, punctuation, and grammar. But I cannot abide this!
    “Great Britain and Wales”.
Great Britain is an island that comprises distinct entities: England, Scotland, and Wales. Saying congratulations Great Britain and Wales is akin to saying congratulations to the continental United States and Maine.
A simple “Congratulations Great Britain” would be enough :)

AJ – Thanks for your feedback and I will edit it.

As for the “I even tolerate at often times poor spelling, punctuation, and grammar.” Please realizre that this blogsite is a labor of love by the few that psot here. No one makes money. It does not make make money. The ads produce enough to cover hosting and such. We are not JoeMyGod, Towelroad, or Queerty and make thousands of dollars a month and have paid editors to proofread copy. We just push out what we can quickly out of passion not pay.

But again thanks for pointing the error out and if you’d like to volunteer your time to proofread and edit just let me know and I’ll set you up an account.

Not being snarky. Being serious. We could use the help.

That’s okay mate, I get that, I understand it, and I never for once thought anything different. Still, a quick once over before sending doesn’t hurt :) just like a comb through the hair and brushing your teeth before leaving the house :)
