A petition that was started at SignOn.org after the 2012 Election calling for Macy’s to dump Donald Trump after his outrageous behavior leading up to and during election night  has gathered nearly a half million signatures.

The petition written by Angelo Carusone states:

Macy’s: Donald Trump does not reflect the “magic of Macy’s.” We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy’s says it has a strong obligation to be “socially responsible” and that “actions speak louder than words.” Indeed. It’s time to act.

Adds Carusone:

Macy’s has a special deal with Donald Trump. They invest in developing Trump’s brand and sell his clothing line and fragrance at their locations. To this end, they have had major events at Macy’s Herald Square location and they often feature and promote Trump in advertisements designed to celebrate the magic of Macy’s. Recently, Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren sent Donald Trump a letter touting how excited Macy’s was to be working with Trump and promising to expand Trump’s brand even further than it already is. But, why is Macy’s celebrating Trump?

Both Macy’s and NBC need to get over thinking that Donald Trump is such a  big “draw”.  After this last election Trump is nothing more than a laughingstock and the backlash against birthers, the Tea Party and the GOP is going to be huge and have severe ramifications for those involved with them over the next few years.  Their socially irresponsible almost psychotic behavior. greed, misogyny and hate was well exposed the past few months and they will suffer for it.

It would be in Macy’s best interest to “Dump Trump” before they become a distant memory like Gimbles.
