Speaking on Friday at a rally in one of the most conservative counties in Iowa Mitt Romney endorsed anti-gay, anti-woman, and anti-immigration right wing extremist Republican Senator Steve Kinh of Iowa’s 5th congressional district for re-election.
Romney said to the crowd: ‘I’m looking here at Steve King. He needs to be your congressman again. I want him as my partner in Washington!’
Rep. Steve King, was one of the few Republicans who did not strongly condemn Rep. Todd Akin who said that “victims of legitimate rape don’t get pregnant”. King also signaled why he didn’t — and that’s because he might actually agree with parts of Akin’s assertion . King told an Iowa reporter he’s never heard of a child getting pregnant from statutory rape or incest. “Well I just haven’t heard of that being a circumstance that’s been brought to me in any personal way,” King told KMEG-TV
King has also compared immigrants to dogs, saying the country should avoid importing lazy immigrants: “You get the pick of the litter and you got yourself a pretty good bird dog. Well, we’ve got the pick of every donor civilization on the planet.”
And as for the LGBT community in an interview with certified hate group Family Research Council, King said all gay people should be closeted so they are not discriminated against at work.
‘If you don’t project it, if you don’t advertise it, how would anyone know to discriminate against you. And that’s at the basis of this. So if people wear their sexuality on their sleeve and then they want to bring litigation against someone that they would point their finger at and say, you discriminate. This is the homosexual lobby taking it out on the rest of society and they are demanding affirmation for their lifestyle, that’s at the bottom of this.’
Within an hour of Romneys endorsement of King Obama’s spokeswoman Lis Smith released a statement slamming the endorsement.
