Chicago Lawyer Brutally Stabbed After Trying To Stop Attack On Two Gay Men

A 32-year-old lawyer who works for the Cook County prosecutors office was brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times on Thursday when two teenagers attacked him for trying to stop an assault on two gay men in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.

The lawyer, whose name has not been released was walking by himself along the lakefront when he saw two teenagers about 16 and 17 years old approach two  gay men and start verbally assaulting them. The unnamed prosecutor yelled at the men to stop in an attempt to prevent a physical attack.  But then attackers turned on him and physically attacked him stabbing and slashing the prosecutor multiple times, including cutting his face, right side and arms.

The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez visited him at the hospital.

“He did lose a lot of blood,” Alvarez said. “He is in pain but thankfully is going to be OK.”
