On February 14th’s a Crimes Against Humanity case was lauched in High Court in South Africa against high level Zimbabwean including President Robert Mugabe who in the past decades have used a combination of intimidation and patronage to prevent police officers, lawyers and judges to carry out independent investigations and trials of perpetrators of political violence and have caused survivors of political violence, torture and rape have been left without access to justice.
The case in question concerns Mugabe’s role in the torture committed after a police raid on the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) headquarters in 2008.
But that didn’t stop the corrupt and evil Mugabe from using the occasion of his 88th birthday party over the weekend as a venue to continue his deadly battle against gays and lesbians and speak out against “western” societies who embrace them.
“We reject that outright and say to hell with you. You are free as a man to marry a woman, and that is what we follow.
“In their newspapers, that’s one of my sins — that I called [gays] ‘worse than pigs and dogs,’ because pigs know there are males and females, I won’t even call him a dog, because my own dog will complain.
You must go to the head of the imperialist and knock out his brain”
The International Criminal Court Act obliges signatories to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of crimes against humanity, giving South Africa no choice but to arrest the perpetrators.
Mugabe’s case will be heard between 26 March and 30 March 2012.
