Video: Conan O’Brien Makes History, Marries Same Sex Couple Live On Television

On Conan O’Brien’s sshow last night, during his last night in New York City.  As promised Conan officiated the wedding of  costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner David Gorshein on stage before a live audience much to the chagrin of the Family Research Council’s hate group President Tony Perkins.

Conan officiated the ceremony respectfully and it was not a joke to either him or his staff.

Cronick and his partner David Gorshein both live in California where Conan’s show is originally aired from and decided to get married while the show was in New York City for one week.   With that Conan picked up the mante, became an ordained minister, and you can see the results below

Having a same sex marriage ceremony on his show can seem like such a small thing, but it can go a long way towards showing the wider public that two men can love and want to share lives with each other just like a man and a woman can.

Thank you Conan.

And heartiest congratulations to Scott and David!  Mazel Tov!
