The murderer of Ugandan gay rights activist David Kato had dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexual, and transgender persons and was beaten to death in his home earlier this year has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Sidney Nsubuga Enoch22, committed the crime after Kato stating that Kato repeatedly made sexual advances him, according to the prosecution evidence. The body of the deceased was discovered in a house by one Kizza Akram, who had earlier left the duo together.

The hunt for Nsubuga culminated in his arrest when he was spotted by residents in Mukono district, who alerted the police. He was arrested after which he admitted to the murder charges brought against him.

For those of you who don;t remember.  Kato was murdered shortly after anti-gay lunatic Scott Lively and Exodus International went to Uganda to stoke the flames of homophobia and gay hatred and who many think that their harmful anti-gay rhetoric is directly responsible for this crime
