Last Friday I reported that the bronze plaque horonoring slain LGBT Civil Rights leader Harvey Milk was stolen from outside Harvey’s old Castro Camera Shop at 575 Castro Street where the Trevor Project Call Center and HRC is now housed.
Well it seems that my source material was wrong.
Harvey Milk’s plaque was indeed stolen but it was not located at 575 Castro. It was located in Harvey Milk Plaza, at the entrance to the Castro Street Muni Station.
Mt apologies for the misinformation.
Harvey’s bronze plaque is still missing with an estimated monitary worth of $10,000.00 and a priceless sentimental and historical worth.
If anyone out there has any information, please contact SFPD’s anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text message your tip to TIP411
Many thanks to Tie-Dyed Jive in the (415) for the correct information and the heads up.

I spent a lot of time sending various sites the correct information. I have a Harvey Milk Google alert, and today
your site showed up and I was ready to correct it. I happen to have my iconic image of Harvey posted with others that are in the background of your attached image.
I thought it was ironic that many sites had the wrong info, and I guess their source originally posted the wrong image.
I happen to be involved in sports promotions, and in several books they attributed the wrong info their books because they based their info on wrong information. In fact, I once found a quote attributed to me that I never made, however I liked it so much that I started to use it…
I felt it could not be called plagiarism since it was attributed to me in the first place!
