Maggie Gallagher Srivastav Rewrites History: “The Myth of Christian Terrorism”
Professional Christian hater Maggie Gallagher Srivastav is at it again lying and spinning like a whirling dervish and this time denying history in fear of a backlash because of the tragic events in Norway when Anders Behring Breivik opened fire at the campers at a youth camp that claimed the lives of over 85 innocent victims. Breivik did this for his “fight” for a “Judeo-Christian Europe“, and stated that “the new Conservatist ‘new right’ is rapidly developing into a pro-Israel, anti-Jihad alliance.”
Gallagher – Srivastav in an article written for Real Clear Politics attempts to distance herself and America’s religious right from the Norway incident painting Breivik as a deranged loner while ignoring Christian Terrorism through the ages and playing the victim card all at the same time.
Gallagher – Srivastav writes:
“Anders Behring Breivik roamed free, living out his dark video-game-like fantasies, hopped up on drugs to stay awake, unobstructed by any force, including conscience and reality. In his dark fantasies, Breivik invented a counterpart of Islamic terrorism, complete with secret “sleeper cells,” that would rise up at his beck and call. But Norwegian police say he acted alone.
Religious wars are terrible when they come; there is no need to anticipate or encourage them in a country and a culture that has avoided them for 300 years, thanks to the genius of our Founding Fathers. Why the deep hunger among so-called “progressives” to find, name and label organized Christian-inspired violence? Or to re-label moral disagreement as hate?
Of course Gallagher – Srivastav conveniently (on purpose) forgets that our country and culture has NOT avoided Christian Terrorism for 300 years, thanks to the genius of our Founding Fathers, as she puts it and that beginning right after the Civil War, members of the Protestant-led Ku Klux Klan organization began engaging in arson, beatings, cross burning, lynching, murder, and rape against African Americans, Jews, Gays, and other social or ethnic minorities.
The KKK , then and now has an explicitly Christian terrorist ideology basing their beliefs on a “religious foundation” in Christianity.
The goals of the KKK included, from an early time is to “reestablish Protestant Christian values in America by any means possible,” and they also believe that “Jesus was the first Klansman. (Perhaps Maggie should ask her good friend Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council more about the Ku Klux Klan since he in the past has had direct ties to them.)
Maggie also forgets about the Army of God which began executing attacks against abortion clinics and doctors across the United States and abortionist and Scott Roeder who murdered Dr George Tiller on May 31, 2009 because Roeder believed that abortion is criminal and immoral, and that this belief went “hand in hand” with his religious beliefs.
Maggie Gallagher – Srivastav, NOM, the Family Research Council, American family Association, Focus on the Family and other extremist right wing religious groups that litter America like garbage are Christian terrorist organizations and no amount of denying it can ever change it. They claim their innocence but their words of hate to those who follow them are perpetrated for their own selfish and bigoted religious, political or ideological goals, deliberately targeting others and disregarding their safety for their own gain
That is the definition of terrorism.
And that is who Maggie and the others like her truly are.
