Same Sex Marriages Passes In New York – Video: Andrew Cuomo’s Speech After Bill Signed Into Law

The New York State Senate voted 33-29 to legalize same-sex marriage in New York late last night with four Republican state senators joined 29 Democrats in voting for the bill. The Senate galleries were so packed with supporters and opponents that the fire marshals closed them off.

Governor Andrew Cuomo shortly before signing the bill into law said: “This state, when it is at its finest, is a beacon for social justice.”

New York becomes the 6th state to legalize same sex marriage along with the District of Columbia.

Same sex marriage will begin to take place in 30 days.

Enjoy the day, and Gay Pride Weekend  New York , but please everyone remember that we still have a long, long, way to go.
