Choi is an Uncle Tom. Everything he says and does, along with GoProud is addressed c/o the GOP's assholes. What do you expect? I just hate he's openly gay now. That makes us sort of socially responsible for this lunacy.

I didn't get that from Dan's interview. He said plainly that he doesn't agree with GOProud on a host of issues, and that he wasn't going to just take Chris R Barron's word for it. He committed to reporting back on his experience at CPAC. We only have a week to go before we'll know one way or the other.

I know we're always told to be patient, but I think this is one time we TRULY should. Think of how potent the gay community's vote will become when we FINALLY have the Dems and Reps competing for it instead of just assuming it will go to Dems.

This, if played well in the future, can be a BOON to the gay community's political influence….of course that depends on GOProud AND the gay community holding them accountable.

On gay marriage and DOMA, I agree with GOProud that they should not take a position on it, because if it's going to SCOTUS anyway (which it is), why waste their energy on an issue that isn't even going to be decided by the states ultimately anyway?

On ENDA, GOProud needs to step up. But on taxes and health care ….especially with so many gay men who are HIV, I think it's worth giving them a second chance to forge their relationship with the gay left in a more productive manner.

All relationships must remain flexible, or they will be too brittle to withstand the inevitable tension that will rise from time to time.

For now, I think we should stand behind GOProud's mission, even if we don't fully agree with their message. It can only help, as I say, to have BOTH parties realize that the gay vote is no longer going to be a "given" or taken for granted.

Because the GOP is NEVER going to change. Not in our lifetime or that of the next generation. It's a waste of time and effort.

One of the reasons we have so much trouble making headway is because the whole "hearts and minds" is never going to work. It hasn't in the past. It;s not going to in the future. Look at the DADT Vote. Should have been the easiest pass in the world. 2 Republicans voted for it. TWO. After over 20 years thats how many changed thier mind.

We need to FIGHT them. NOT be nice to them. Plain and simple.

I'll say what I said on twitter this morning: singing kumbaya and trying to reason with bigots isn't doing anyone any good…
They had the right idea at Stonewall. Time for another riot. Do SOMETHING. Fundies and their allies won't change, and they care for no one but themselves. These Uncle Tom queers be damned. WTF are they doing? Delusion and denial at its worst is what this is.

What do you think?
