Fruday night at the 2010 Indiana Jefferson Jackson Day Fundraiser Dinner Indiana Stonewall Democrats walked out  after Sen. Even Bayh had the nerve to make an AIDS joke onstage during a speech.
Bayh needs to learn that the quirks of his auditory comprehension are often best left unknown by others. That and the fact that he stole that joke from a South Park episode from 2002. 

So I’m walking through the airport and people were kinda being nice and making eye contact and a couple come up and say hello. This one person runs up all excited and I’m prepared to say “Hello,” and he says, “Senator Bayh! Senator Bayh!”

I said “Well, yes?” and he looked at me and said, “Do you have AIDS?”

[audible gasps]

I said, “Huh?”

He said, “Yeah. Do you have AIDS?”

I was dumbfounded. I didn’t know what to say.

He said, “I’ve got a letter I want to give you, do you have someone I can hand this to? Do you have an aide with you?

[laughter]

So you never know what people are going to say.

My next question is though why the Stonewall Democrats were there in the first place? Bayh is barely more supportive of gay folks than most Republicans and ultra conservative Congressman Brad Ellsworth has been chosen by the Democrat’s State Central Committee to replace Bayh on this fall’s ballot and Ellsworth has anti-gay voting record much worse than Bayh.
