Anti-gay Family Research Council president Tony Perkins was disinvited from a prayer luncheon at Andrews Air Force base recently because of his remarks on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
“The Family Research Council has been lobbying lawmakers to oppose the repeal of don’t ask don’t tell. ‘Do not let our military be used to advance a radical sexual agenda,’ says an item on the council’s web site. Comments like that were too much for the military base…’The Chaplain’s office retracted Mr. Perkins’ invitation after his recent public comments made many who planned to attend the event uncomfortable,’ the Andrews base public affairs office said in a statement issued to CNS News late Thursday. ‘This was a local decision made by the chaplain’s office who wanted the luncheon to be inclusive for the entire base community,’ the statement said. ‘The chaplain’s office respects and defends Mr. Perkins right to express his opinions, and regrets any inconvenience to him. We thank and respect him for his prior military service.’ Perkins argues that what happened to him is just the beginning of a trend in the military where civil rights will trump the religious freedom to oppose homosexuality.”
Isn’t lying a sin?
Every “REAL” study has shown exactly the opposite. Unless by “congressional study” he means ignorant bigoted old congressmen getting together and codifying their prejudice into law.
If anyone should ever be slipped a roofie and tied spread eagled, face down on the pool table at The D.C. Eagle on a Saturday Night it’s Tony Perkins. I think he’d get alot out of it.
